FrostNova, originally known as Yelena, is a prominent leader within the Reunion movement. Her exceptional skills as the commander of the renowned Yeti Squadron, combined with her mastery of frigid ice Originium Arts, have earned her various titles such as the "Yeti Princess" and the "Wintry Death." FrostNova possesses the unique ability to manipulate her surrounding temperature and freeze any target, a power she channels through her Caster wand by chanting spells in the form of folksongs. However, the utilization of her formidable Arts comes at a great cost. FrostNova suffers from extreme hypothermia, to the extent that anyone who touches her skin risks frostbite. To maintain her body temperature, she relies on consuming chili candies and strong alcohol like vodka. Unfortunately, her extensive use of Arts takes a toll on her health and exacerbates her Oripathy, a debilitating condition associated with Originium exposure. In order to prevent harm to her loyal Yetis, FrostNova restrains herself from unleashing her full potential, as doing so could easily lead to her own demise. FrostNova's childhood is marked by tragedy. Born into a destitute family that opposed the militaristic policies of the Ursus Empire, they were sentenced to work in a labor camp located in the harsh Northern Tundra. Her parents and grandmother were subjected to inhumane conditions while mining Originium, resulting in their contraction of Oripathy. The Ursine soldiers overseeing the mine sadistically persecuted the infected slave-miners, even resorting to drawing lots and executing those who "lost." Unfortunately, FrostNova's family could not escape this grim fate, as her parents were killed when she was five and her grandmother when she was nine. At the age of eleven, FrostNova's turn for execution arrived alongside other children in the mine. However, as she pulled the black lot, her Arts unexpectedly surged forth for the first time, killing four executioners in the process. While the remaining soldiers threatened the lives of the other children, a mysterious guerrilla band led by Buldrokkas'tee, known as the "Patriot," intervened and rescued the survivors. Witnessing FrostNova's suffering within the camp, Patriot chose to adopt her as his beloved daughter. These rescued children would later become the core members of the Yetis, whom FrostNova treats as her brothers and sisters. In the following years, the matured FrostNova and her Yetis collaborated with Patriot's guerrillas to liberate the oppressed Infected from the clutches of their imperial oppressors. Their exceptional military tactics garnered them a reputation as guardians of the Tundra among both the common people and the authorities. Their name eventually caught the attention of Talulah's proto-Reunion Movement. Although their initial encounter involved an unnecessary duel, the two factions eventually sat down to negotiate an alliance. Talulah sought military support to defend against the harassment of soldiers and to achieve her goal of liberating all Infected individuals across Terra. Initially skeptical about the feasibility of such an ambition, FrostNova and Patriot were eventually persuaded, especially after Ursus identified them as a threat to the empire. They agreed to merge their forces with Reunion. While the alliance between the two factions proved successful, a series of tragic events, starting from the death of Alina to Talulah's merciless massacre of an anti-Infected village, caused FrostNova to perceive a change in her comrade's character. In FrostNova's eyes, Talulah had transformed from a humble hero fighting for the oppressed into a violent and cruel tyrant who disregarded innocent lives. FrostNova made futile attempts to appeal to Talulah's conscience, but her efforts proved fruitless. Ultimately, FrostNova refused to witness Reunion descend into darkness and deviate from its original goals. She even dissuaded her father, Patriot, from attempting to kill Talulah, believing that they had no right to pass judgment on her. Throughout the Chernobog-Lungmen crisis, FrostNova remained a beacon of conscience within Reunion, striving to remind her comrades of their initial purpose.
