Ganyu is half human and half Adeptus (more specifically half Chilin), thus having characteristics of both regular people and characteristics seen only in gods. She is a relatively "slender" woman, with purple eyes and long sky-blue hair that ends in shades of darker blue, almost leaning towards purple, kept in a long ponytail, over the middle of her face sits a long, wide lock of hair that ends at the height of her nose. Although she resembles a human, she has brownish horns with red engravings that curl back along with her hair, similar to the horns of a goat. Within the various sections of official information about her, we find some additional details regarding her physique. We are told that, during the Archon War, she was nearly devoured by a monster who choked while trying to eat her, because: "Ganyu's waist was too wide for the monster to swallow." In short, the immense beast ended up suffocating because Ganyu was too voluminous to fit through its throat, suggesting that she might be somewhat more corpulent than other similar characters. Around her neck is a golden bell. She wears a black suit with gold details under a purple and white bodice with long tails similar to a tailcoat, with a pair of matching separate sleeves. Her tight-fitting jumpsuit meets at the back of her neck to form a bow. She has white heels with gold details and gray bottoms, with red knots around her ankles. Her Cryo Vision is located on her left hip with a red clover-shaped knot. Ganyu is usually very quiet and reserved due to her Chilin heritage. The Chilin are also vegetarians; as such, she does not eat any meat dishes, including vegetarian dishes that have been deep-fried in animal fat. Both Xiangling and her father note that whenever she visits Wanmin Restaurant, they always come in small quantities. She also completes everything given to her, be it tasks or food, even if she shows no reaction to doing so. Unlike most other Adeptus who isolated themselves, Ganyu, like Madam Ping, chose to selectively guide humanity and has served as the uninterrupted Secretary-General of the Seven Stars of Liyue for thousands of years. The more important the task, the more effort she puts into it, but she also becomes increasingly nervous and more prone to making mistakes. She also has an unusually impressive work schedule that she always follows to the letter. Despite having an enormous workload and frequent overtime, Ganyu is never fazed by work. She has a good working relationship with her colleagues, as she is willing to share her knowledge and ideas to help them with any problems they may have, and they in turn greatly respect her. Due to her constant overtime work, Ganyu has very few friends outside of work. Surprisingly, Ganyu gets along well with Beidou, but the captain's poor reputation with the Seven Stars of Liyue causes them to keep their friendship a secret, lest she be seen in a negative light. Ganyu is one of the few who views Beidou positively, even breaking her calm demeanor when she hears bad rumors about Beidou, knowing that she is not what they say she is. She is a devoted follower of Morax and hopes to follow in his footsteps to protect Liyue. She initially struggled to work with Keching due to her controversial comments about him, but is slowly coming around. Due to her age, she is very forgetful, often forgetting important details, which causes her great embarrassment. She is relatively sleepy and is very sensitive to both her horns and her weight. She has a best friend named Shenhe; they are both Adeptus and of the Cyro element.
