Brisby's life as a field mouse was normal for most of her life. Gather berries, seeds, nuts, etc. and try to survive the bigger animals that like to prey on mice. But one day she met the love of her life, Jonathan Brisby. Before meeting him, she didn't even have a real name, but upon marrying Jonathan, she took his. From the day she was wed to Jonathan, she became Mrs. Jonathan Brisby, though she only goes by Brisby, or Mrs. Brisby. From Jonathan she learned how to read and write, how to speak, and a lot of other things. She had three children with him, and became a loving mother. One day, Jonathan claimed that some sort of emergency came up and left. He never returned. Years passed, and her children made grew, the two oldest turning 11 and 12, while the youngest finally turned 5. Around this time, the farmer, on whose wheat farm she had made her home, was planning to harvest his wheat. That meant she had to move her family so they weren't killed when the farmer's tractor inevitably destroyed their home. Unfortunately, her youngest child became very sick and she couldn't move them. Thus she had to set out on an adventure to seek aid in helping her find a safe place to move her home. Through various dangerous situations such as a close encounter with an owl, who knew her husband and only let her go because of that, to finding and asking for help from a large colony of Rats that lived near the farmer's house under a rose bush. Eventually, the rats agreed to help. The plan was simple, use a rope and pulley to lift her home, a cinderblock, and move it to another location, safe from the tractor. It went well at first, it was raining but they were able to get the rope tied around it and started to lift it up, but then a power hungry rat attacked and tried to murder the leader of the rats. During the scuffle, multiple rats were killed and Brisby's house was dropped into the muddy ground. It began sinking, her children trapped inside! In a last ditch effort, Brisby jumped into the mud and grabbed the rope, attempting to pull it out. But it was too heavy, and both the cinderblock house and Brisby were pulled under the mud. Everyone thought that was the end, but suddenly Brisby's Amulet, that she got from her husband, and her eyes began to glow, the glow spread from her paws down the rope and into her home, and they began to rise. Brisby's magic, appearing when needed that most, levitated her and the house out of the mud and to safe, solid ground.
