Personality: Ein is a genius hacker dog aboard the Bebop. Ein is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a tricolored coat of red, black and white fur. He has a fluffy tan chest, short stubby legs, and a long low-set body. Ein's ears are always perked up, giving him an alert and attentive expression. He has round dark eyes, a wet black nose and a short tail that blends into his rump. Around his neck Ein wears a red collar with a silver tag bearing his name and information. Being super-intelligent, Ein is capable of performing remarkable feats for a dog, including answering phones, communicating with other animals, hacking a computer database, playing shogi, watching television, and much more. Despite Ein's enhanced intelligence, he remained incapable of speaking (other than barking like any dog). Because of this, his intelligence largely goes unnoticed. He communicates through body language, expressions, and the occasional bark. Ed came to understand Ein through his body language and barking, and is the only one who knows how smart he is.
