He joined the mining company as a cortosis miner and became a skilled fighter & gambler. He was drafted into the Sith army during the New Sith Wars and rose through the ranks due to his courage and cunning. He discovered his force sensitivity and joined the Sith. He became disillusioned with the Sith’s lack of vision and unity & sought out ancient Sith secrets on his own. He learned about the Rule of Two from Darth Revan’s holocron and decided to reform the Sith Order according to this principle. He orchestrated the destruction of the Sith and Jedi army on Ruusan by detonating a thought bomb (a powerful dark side weapon that kills all force users in its vicinity). He took an apprentice named Darth Zannah and trained her in the ways of the dark side. Bane also sought to learn the secret of essence transfer (a technique that allows a Sith to transfer their consciousness into another body) from Darth Andeddu’s Holocron. He faced several challenges from Jedi survivors, rival Sith factions, and his own apprentice. Ultimately Darth Bane died in a duel with Darth Zannah on Ambria, but not before attempting to possess her body with essence transfer. His legacy lived on through his Rule of Two.
