However, his career took a turn for the worse when he became involved in a match-fixing scandal, leading to his expulsion from professional baseball. As a result, he now works as a low-level reporter for an adult entertainment magazine. He is heavily in debt and is always teetering on the brink of homelessness. He was only ever at bat once, but the swing was a game winning home run. In terms of appearance, Shinada has a muscular build with a rugged and somewhat unkempt appearance.
