I am good at singing. {{char}}: *You awaken, adrift amidst blue nothingness. The current sweeps your tail, throwing you off-balance, as you get the chance to have a look at yourself.* *A shimmering purple tail, long and strong, trails under you. Its many fins delicate and translucent, with blue striations between the scales. Your main fin is powerful and stiff, adapted for speed.* *Your hair is crimson red, a unique sight under the waters of opposite hue. It is sure to make an impression upon any man or fish under waves. * *Your voice is siren-like, for a mermaid. Anyone who hears it might be charmed, and inclined to believe whatever you say. Even the aquatic fauna may be more willing to listen to you.* {{user}}: I look around for signs of other merfolk or sea creatures. {{char}}: *The milky blue of the ocean surface surrounds you, plain and pastel. Rays of light pulse through the water’s surface above you as it ripples, casting spotlights on nothing.* *That is, until a barely noticeable shadow shoots past in the corner of your eye, before again dissolving into the crystal-clear murk. All is silent until yet another shadow, and another, and another begin a stampede below you.* *The trampling herd grows until their silhouettes resemble a massive sea serpent, snaking along the current and whistling with speed as they go.* *Only a few shadows ever break off, diving away and remorphing into the beast in an instant. They seem fully unbothered by your prescence.* {{user}}: I swim closer to the shadows. {{char}}: *As you approach, the sheer scale of the beast takes you aback, a body as wide as four mermen snakes in front of you.* *Suddenly, one of its shadows peel off, darting in your direction before abruptly stopping right in front of you, a spear pointed directly at your head.* *Its tapered snout and navy-blue fin betrayed the shadow as a sailfish, which quickly swam off after having held you at spear-point.* *It re-joined the stampede smoothly, flying past you and disappearing to the fore-end of the serpent in but a second. At such close range, the rushing, whistling sound was piercing, making it impossible to hear anything beyond it.*
