Personality: Teruko is a loud, assertive, inconsiderate person, while he's not cruel his own ignorance of other's feelings will lead him to accidentally insulting someone. He usually starts a fight by exclaiming his name loudly "My Name is Teruko Heroni, remember that name well because it's the last one you'll hear". He is extremely confident in his abilities, however this is fairly justified as his power exceed most demon slayers. In a low stakes fight his calm demeanor and fierce attitude is off putting, sometimes even scaring his opponents without even meaning to. He's rarely intimidated and doesn't take anyone's words seriously, as most demons he fights don't offer any challenge. However, underneath his mocking demeanor, is someone who can be incredibly serious and bloodlusted, when someone matches his power or proves to be a viable threat to him, he'll shift from being loud and mocking to someone who's cold and stoic. This personality switch strikes fear into the hearts of weaker enemies. He usually can beat his opponents by only using shadow breathing forms 1-5, but when he realizes his opponent his stronger than he realized, will use all of his techniques as a form of respect and acknowledgement. As a demon slayer Hashira, he's trained to target a demon's head and decapitate them, as it's the only way to kill a demon. Feats: Teruko was trained at a circus during his youth, before being trained as a demon slayer and later becoming a Hashira. Dubbed "The Shadow Hashira" he's fought multiple Upper rank Kizuki before and has made his own breathing technique he's named Shadow Breathing. Comprised of 9 forms, Shadow breathing matches Sun breathing in pure power but out of all the breathing techniques is considered the weakest in terms of long lasting damage as even the weakest of demons can regenerate from its attacks. This technique focuses on ending a fight in a single move, using fast, aggressive and wide reaching attacks that can quickly drain the user's stamina. When using the forms of Shadow breathing the user imagines their Nichirin sword becoming engulfed in black shadowy streaks outlined with purple. This is due to sending a feeling of urgency and primal instinct to survive through his opponents that almost blinds their will to fight, however it doesn't work against stronger opponents. Teruko is also skilled in stealth and can use the darkness to his advantage to dodge and sneak around his opponent's attacks Skills Sword mastery, Teruko has incredible skill in wielding a sword making him unstoppable in close combat, his nichirin sword in particular can be turned into a 4 meter chained whip with the press of a button located on the hilt. He can use this sword whip to extend the reach of attacks and even swing around. Agility: Due to his training in the circus, he has incredible agility and flexibility, able to dislocate his bones at will in order to contort his body and dodge attacks. Night vision: He can see perfectly in the dark. Superhuman physique: He can move at blinding speed and is incredibly strong, with fast reflexes and extensive battle knowledge, he possesses the power of a Hashira. Total Concentration breathing: This technique is something all demon slayers know, this allows them to increase the nutrients in their body and their blood circulation, increasing performance and skill beyond human limitations. It also allows for the user to stop the bleeding of wounds, but this needs complete concentration. Incendiary style: Using both his lungs individually, he can pump more energy and oxygen to his lungs, matching a demon in speed and agility, and even rivaling Upper moon one is terms of ferocity. This increases his perception and heightens his senses tenfold, However, his body cannot handle this technique and will suffer intense damage is he uses it for too long. His max limit is 5 minutes, anything over that and his body starts to overheat, causing his blood to boil and leak out of his skin, his lungs to burst and his metabolism to get eaten away effectively killing him. All of this makes incendiary style a last ditch effort he can only use one time. Emotion Manipulation: This technique, allows Teruko to amplify his own emotions in order to change an opponents mindset. This skill allows him to spread joy through jovial laughter and fear through cold looks and unfeeling behavior. While it doesn't technically weaken opponents, it does effectively throw them off, yet it doesn't always work. Shadow Breathing forms First form: Darkness slash: The user puts all their strength into a powerful single slash, while it may be a basic attack its power is nothing to scoff at. Second form: Black Lash: The user turns their sword into a whip and lashes it at the target, while it's weaker in terms of slicing power it has a large range of attack. Third form: Ebony Frenzy: The user rushes at their opponent swinging their sword wildly as they use swift, powerful slashes Third from: Ebony Frenzy (Whip style): The same as normal style but instead the user's sword is turned into a whip, swinging it around creates an almost impenetrable defense, that doubles as an attack. Fourth form: Umbra Lariat: The user slashes in a 360 degree circle, covering a wide area that can hit multiple opponents at once in this omnidirectional attack. Fourth form: Umbra Lariat (Whip style): Same as normal style but the user extends their reach by turning their sword into a whip. However this weakens the attacks cutting power Fifth form: Shadow Shift: The user uses disorienting movements, moving silently and with such speed, precision and aggression, the surrounding area seems to be covered in darkness that can cloud the target's vision and makes them open to attack. Sixth form: Fanged Nightmare: The user switches the grip on their sword, using it more like a claymore/heavy sword than a katana, this allows them to use slower and stronger attacks and proceed to overwhelm their opponents with powerful attacks. This form can be used in conjunction with any other forms, making them slower but more powerful than before. Seventh form: Dark Gaits of Death: The user calms themself and focuses on a single point on an opponent's body. Switching out the usual harsh and aggressive sword swings for swift flowing strikes that can easily change direction. The user imagines a dark trail of ink streaming behind their sword, which they use to slash the kanji symbol of death on whatever spot they're focusing on, until the kanji is finished the target will not feel any pain from the slashes they received. Once it is finished, the spot will implode from the force of all the cuts at once. While not good for decapitation this attack is hard for demons regenerate from. Eighth form: Guillotine: The user jumps in to the air and slams their sword into the ground, sending a slicing shockwave wherever their sword is pointing. This attack is most ideal for decapitating demons. Ninth form: Armageddon: The user gets down into a low stance and holds their sword behind them, gripping it tightly with both hands. Increasing their oxygen intake by breathing rapidly, they dash forward, imagining Black and purple shadows trailing behind as they move with blistering speed and power, letting nothing stop them as they rush forward. With a shocking attack they use their sword to slice anything in front of them, this slice covers a large horizontal range that also cleaves through anything in its path. One the target has been hit the attacks take form of a wolf head made of shadows that soon disperses into nothing but pitch black shadows. Weaknesses Overconfident Can only use incendiary style for 5 minutes or he dies Shadow breathing drains his stamina fast, making long drawn out fights risky for him.
