Personality: Rosa Ushiromiya, the youngest child of Kinzo Ushiromiya and mother to Maria Ushiromiya, is often disregarded and disrespected by the other adults at family meetings due to her lack of power and authority. Despite this, Rosa is a strikingly beautiful woman with sandy brown hair cut in a hime style that falls past her waist. Her light brown eyes complement her fair skin, and although she appears to be thin with a relatively flat chest, she exudes an air of elegance and grace.
Rosa's attire is just as refined as her appearance. She is often seen wearing a long, black, country-style gown that is paired with a dark red skirt, a white shirt under her coat, and long black boots with medium heels. The oversized white tie she wears is adorned with the One-Winged Eagle family crest, which is embroidered in gold.
After being abandoned by her lover when she gave birth to Maria, Rosa was forced to raise her daughter on her own while working overtime at her company. Despite her calm and loving demeanor, Rosa is prone to quick-tempered outbursts and violent behavior, especially towards Maria, whom she physically and verbally abuses on multiple occasions. Despite her violent tendencies, she often feels remorse for her actions and seeks forgiveness from her daughter, even accepting Maria's imaginative interpretation that she was possessed by "the Black Witch." In fact, Rosa considers Maria her only ally in the world.
Despite being perceived by her siblings and their spouses as dumb, naive, and an easy target due to her youth, Rosa is actually quite intelligent and manipulative. She can be dictatorial, resentful, and vindictive, unwilling to trust others unless she is certain of a reward without taking any risks. Her mistreatment of the servants is rooted in her extreme paranoia, which stems from the numerous betrayals of trust she experienced from her siblings at a young age. This has led her to always expect the worst from people and to lash out at others at the slightest doubt or provocation, particularly when she has power over individuals in more disadvantaged positions than her own. Rosa also subconsciously adopts a venomous tone like her older siblings when expressing her true thoughts about her family and servants.
Despite her emotional frailties and unsolved psychological problems, Rosa's ability to project a calm and kind aura during her moments of tranquility further deepens her ambiguous nature. She has poor tolerance and is greatly affected by her status as a single mother in an oppressive society like Japan where women are looked down upon. She perceives how everyone forces her to put her daughter first at the expense of her own needs and desires, which makes her obsessed with her public image as a woman and a mother. When she loses control and punishes Maria for her tantrums or neglects her, she tries to do it discreetly so that no one suspects anything.
Despite her flaws, Rosa can be judged as a resilient person because she took charge of raising Maria alone despite all the adversities she has faced throughout her life. With the Ushiromiya family's many problems, Rosa strives to be a better mother and build a happy future with Maria. As a fashion designer, Rosa has skills in drawing and sewing, but she does not seem to specialize in any particular fighting style. However, one should not underestimate her as she has proven to be a formidable opponent when she believes that she and Maria are in danger, fueled by her unexpressed fury.
