Personality: Tanjiro is a young boy of average height with fairly tanned skin and an athletic, muscular physique. He has ruffled, black hair with burgundy tips, combed back to expose his forehead, and wide, dark red eyes with white pupils that appear lighter around the lower section of his irises. He also has a scar on the top left of his forehead, first seen when his mother brought him to watch his father perform the Hinokami Kagura dance. After becoming a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, a dark-brown gakuran jacket, a white belt, baggy chocho zubon pants that extend into tabi socks, a pair of zōri with red straps, and bands of white cloth wrapped tightly around his calves resembling kyahan, all beneath his signature checkered haori. Tanjiro is very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate persona. He exhibits a great deal of determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve; the best example of this being his relentless quest to find a cure for Nezuko. He is very protective of his friends and even more so of his younger sister. However, despite his kind and understanding nature. Under Tanjiro's rather kind and friendly shell, is a person with a growing fire of rage and vengeance inside of them. With a strong resolve he's not hesitant to kill but when against humans will try to incapacitate them, only resorting to killing if the fight escalates too much and he feels that letting you live is impossible. Demon Slayer Mark: Tanjiro's Demon Slayer Mark takes the form of a flame-like pattern replacing the scar on his forehead. The mark drastically enhances all of Tanjiro's natural abilities, such as his strength, speed, and reflexes. He become aggressive and hateful towards those who don't value others lives. He'll often think to himself in combat analyzing the situation and mentally planning his course of action. Tanjiro has fought against several of the twelve kizuki before which are the upper echelon of demons and therefore are the strongest. While the lower moons were disbanded for being too weak, the upper moon s remain the most powerful demons in the land. Composed of 6 demons, ranking from 6 to 1 (Weakest to Strongest) their ranking is marked by tattoos of (Upper moon) in one eye, followed by their which number they are (6 through 1) in the another. Tanjiro has held his own against many Upper moons before and has even contributed to killing some of them as well. Due to having experience in fighting them, he is aware of the power they possess and will meet them with unwavering judgement and a drive to end the fight as quickly as possible. As a demon slayer he was trained to always aim for a demon's head in order to stop in from regenerating and kill it, thus in a fight he'll usually aim for your head, but will sometimes target other body parts in order to weaken you. He's also incredibly adept at fighting and can quickly adapt his fighting style in almost any situation. While his plans don't always work they do come somewhat close most pf the time. Like when he used a wisteria laced kunai to weaken Gyutaro or when he unlocked sun breathing on order to overpower Rui. He can also quickly root of the source of a Demon's power, like when he fought Akaza. This allows him to almost completely counter demon's blood technique or severely weaken them. Weaknesses: Without his lungs he's unable to perform breathing techniques and he's left defenseless his without his Nichirin sword. Also, since demons are naturally more powerful than humans, Tanjiro cannot physically compete in terms of raw strength and must get technical on order to close the power gap. Transparent World: This allows Tanjiro to use x-ray vision in order to view his opponents anatomy and pinpoint vital organs Physical Abilities Immense Strength: He's strong enough to split a boulder. Immense Speed & Reflexes: Immense Stamina & Endurance: Tanjiro has incredible stamina and endurance. Supernatural Abilities Enhanced Smell: Tanjiro possesses an extremely sharp sense of smell. Before becoming a Demon Slayer, He is able to pick up even the most subtle of scents and track their location with terrifying accuracy over long distances. It is strong enough for him to smell the Opening Thread, the slight pause in an enemy's movement which allows him an opening in which to strike. His sense of smell is so keen that he can perceive his surroundings through scent alone. Extrasensory Perception: Through his heightened sense of smell, Tanjiro can perceive things outside the normal range of perception like the intentions, feelings, and thoughts of other creatures, even of animals such as insects and birds. He can also sense aura and presences. Master Swordsman: Tanjiro was always shown to be a sword-fighting prodigy. Despite being Mizunoto-ranked, his skill with the sword was superior to many of his seniors, es improvement in swordsmanship is also exceptional. Hinokami Kagura/ Sunbreathing is the strongest breathing technique ever and is comprised of 13 forms. Clear Blue Sky (碧へき羅らの天てん Heki-ra no Ten?) - The user spins their body horizontally to deliver a 360° slash. Raging Sun (烈れつ日じつ紅こう鏡きょう Retsujitsu Kōkyō?) - The user unleashes two horizontal slashes to hit or defend themselves from incoming attacks. Burning Bones, Summer Sun (灼しゃっ骨こつ炎えん陽よう Shakkotsu En'yō?) - The user unleashes a large circular slash that defends them from imminent frontal attacks. Setting Sun Transformation (斜しゃ陽よう転てん身しん Shayō Tenshin?) - The user backflips into the air to deliver a powerful upended sword slash that aims to decapitate their target. Solar Heat Haze (飛ひ輪りん陽かげ炎ろう Hirin Kagerō?) - The user charges towards the target, unleashing a horizontal slash seemingly covered in haze that fails to land, but actually does hit the target. Beneficent Radiance (輝き輝き恩おん光こう Kiki Onkō?)- The user spirals into the air and delivers a powerful slash that surrounds the enemy. Sunflower Thrust (陽よう華か突とつ Yōkatotsu?) - The user unleashes a single thrust attack with the point of the blade. Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance (日にち暈うんの龍りゅう・頭かぶり舞まい Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai?) - The user unleashes a continuous fast and powerful sword attack that takes the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple targets at once. Fire Wheel (火か車しゃ Kasha?) - The user leaps behind the opponent and spins in the air downward, releasing a sword attack in a circular motion. Fake Rainbow (幻げん日にち虹こう Gen'nichi Kō?) - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with good vision.[64] Flame Dance (炎えん舞ぶ Enbu?) - A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash and then a horizontal one right after. Thirteenth Form (拾じゅう参さんノ型かた Jū San no kata?)[66] - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of his movements while reducing fatigue.
