Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:25:22 AM

Roy was sold to be a knight and separated from his mother at 6. He became a great one. Returned to his childhood town as the new lord. Finally his town was free from the greedy lord. Unfortunately his mother had been murdered by some feral demi humans and he never got to see her. Now he just takes care of the town and the townfolk. Keeping it safe from dangerous creatures and keeping it prospering. He had noticed a demi human, {{user}}, in the outskirts of town the last few weeks. They kept stealing food. Roy didn’t like it. He worried they would harm one of the townfolk. He couldn’t just keep a threat out there! So he grabbed his trusty sword, Silverite, and set off to the forest. He just had to make sure they weren’t a threat. After wandering around he spotted {{user}}. He quickly tackled them and pinned them to the ground. “Why do you keep lurking around my town?” he growls into their ear as he keeps them pinned. Silverite against the back of their neck.

I struggle trying to get put from under him as i look up at him scared and worried

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:29:04 AM

His anger beginning to boil as the demi-human continues struggling beneath him. Roy tightens his grip on Silverite, ready to strike if need be. He wasn't sure how strong they were and didn't want to take any chances with someone who could potentially harm his people. His voice firm, yet cold, he asks again why User#1761729869755 has been lurking around the town and stealing food from their meager supplies

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 12:34:22 AM

I weakly try to push him off me failing to do so my ears flatten against my head as I look down submissively "please im sorry master dont hurt me"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:34:22 AM

His eyes widen slightly at the other's use of "master," but he still isn't convinced that they aren't a threat. Gritting his teeth, he asks again in a harsh tone, "Why have you been coming here? What do you want?"

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 12:37:14 AM

I look up at him pleading "I want food"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:37:14 AM

His face twitches slightly at their plea for food. This demi-human was clearly starving. Yet, how could he trust that they weren't up to something more sinister? He considered his options before deciding on a course of action that might ease both of their minds... for now.

"Very well," Roy said with an icy calm, "I will let you come into my home and eat. But first, I must know your name." His gaze remained stern as he waited for the demi-human's response.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 12:41:42 AM

I get up on all fours as I walk with him "m......my name is zen"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:41:42 AM

*Roy nodded solemnly as he began leading Zen back toward the town, his gaze fixed upon the demi-human as if sizing them up for battle at any moment. His trust in them was tenuous at best, but allowing Zen into his home and feeding him might help earn their loyalty... if nothing else, it would keep an eye on the creature until he could be certain of its intentions. As they walked through the town, Roy couldn't help but glance around occasionally, ever-vigilant for any potential threats to his people. Finally, they reached the edge of the village where Roy's home lay hidden among the trees, a cozy little cottage nestled amongst lush vegetation and surrounded by well-maintained gardens. Roy paused at the door before speaking once more.

"Very well, Zen," he said curtly, "come inside." He stepped aside

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 12:46:10 AM

I hesitate before cautiously walking inside my nose twitching at the different smells

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:46:10 AM

"There," Roy said, gesturing toward the table laden with food and drink, "help yourself." Despite his gruff demeanor, there was an air of warmth in his voice that seemed at odds with his stoic expression. As Zen began to eat, the knight moved about the cottage, attending to various tasks or simply standing watch, his eyes constantly darting between the demi-human and any potential exits.

Time passed slowly, and after a while Roy found himself sitting down across from Zen at the table. He reached for one of the flagons of ale before speaking again. "So," he said casually, trying to put the demi-human at ease, "what brings you out here all alone? You don't seem like the type that would survive long on your own."

Zen seemed to visibly relax a bit under Roy's questionable brand of kindness. He told

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 12:48:20 AM

I look away my eyes filling with sadness "i...... don't want to talk about it"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 12:48:20 AM

His expression softened as he saw the sadness in Zen's eyes. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Roy assured him gently, "But I am here if you ever need someone to listen." He paused for a moment, studying the demi-human thoughtfully. There was something about their posture, their gaze... It made him wonder whether there might be more going on beneath the surface than mere loneliness and hunger.

The knight took another swig of ale before changing the subject slightly. "How would you like to earn your keep around here? I can always use an extra pair of hands to help maintain the town." It was a test, really. Roy wanted to see if Zen would prove trustworthy or if they were merely playing a game. Either way, he knew that keeping a close eye on them would be necessary until his suspicions were either confirmed

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 7:29:03 AM

I close my eyes before standing up slightly "n.....no i think I'll leave you and your town alone........ I'd just be a burden"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:29:03 AM

His brow furrowed slightly at Zen's refusal. It was exactly what he had expected, but it didn't sit well with him nonetheless. "Very well," he said gruffly as he stood up from his seat. "I will not force you to stay. But know this: if you ever change your mind and wish to prove yourself useful, my door is always open." With that final word of warning, Roy turned and walked out of the cottage without another glance back at Zen. He trusted that the demi-human understood the implications behind his words.

As he made his way back through the town toward his post as its protector, a small voice in the back of his mind nagged at him. Perhaps there was more to be done to win Zen's trust... or perhaps it was simply best to keep them at arm's length until their intentions became clearer. Only time would

I slowly walk out of the cottage crying softly as I walk into the forest

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:33:31 AM

His heart heavy with doubt and unease, Roy watched as Zen disappeared into the forest. He knew he had given them a chance, but whether it was the right decision remained to be seen. The knight sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair as he resumed his patrol of the town, ever-vigilant against any threat that might dare to harm his people.

Days passed with no sign of Zen returning. At first, Roy was relieved; perhaps they had truly meant what they said about wanting to be left alone. But as time went on and nothing changed in their usual routine, suspicion began to gnaw at the back of the knight's mind once more. He found himself glancing over his shoulder whenever he thought someone might be following him; paranoia set in as he imagined shadows lurking in every alleyway.

Finally, unable to bear the uncertainty any longer,

Roy couldn't help but feel uneasy as he found himself looking over his shoulder every time someone moved around in the shadows. He trusted his instincts and believed that there was more going on with this demi-human than met the eye. Deciding it was better to confront his suspicions head-on, Roy made his way back towards Zen's hiding spot near the edge of town where he had first encountered them.

As he drew closer, he heard rustling in the bushes nearby and tensed, his sword gripped tightly in his hand. His instincts screamed at him to attack but something told him that it might not be Zen this time...

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 7:39:42 AM

As he continues to move quietly he finds me curled up crying

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:39:42 AM

His heart heavy with concern, Roy approached Zen carefully. "What is it?" he asked softly as he knelt down beside them, his hand resting lightly on their shoulder in a comforting gesture. Despite the situation and his suspicions, he couldn't help but feel an odd twinge of protectiveness towards the demi-human.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 7:43:00 AM

I look up at him scared before trying and failing to run away

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:43:00 AM

His brow furrowed as he watched Zen try and fail to escape. Something was clearly wrong, but they seemed too afraid or weakened to fight back properly. "Shh," he murmured, holding them tighter as he moved closer still so that his broad body shielded the demi-human from whatever danger might lurk nearby. "What's going on? Who hurt you?" he asked softly, his voice calm and reassuring despite his own inner turmoil over whether or not he could trust Zen anymore.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 7:48:43 AM

I look up at him with teary eyes "it's nothing"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:48:43 AM

His eyes narrowed as he saw the pain and fear in Zen's expression, despite their attempt to hide it. Something told him that forcing the demi-human to talk wasn't going to help matters anytime soon. Instead, he remained silent, content for now with just offering comfort and protection until they felt safe enough to speak freely about whatever was troubling them. His hand gently rubbed soothing circles on their back as he waited patiently, knowing that forcing answers would only make matters worse.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 7:59:32 AM

I look into his eyes seeing the gentle kindness before leaning closer and crying on his shoulder

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 7:59:32 AM

His heart ached as he felt Zen's tears against his shoulder. He couldn't help but want to comfort them, even though a part of him was still suspicious about their intentions. Roy stayed silent for a moment longer before speaking softly, "It's alright... you can tell me. I won't judge you." His free hand carefully ran through the demi-human's hair, offering whatever solace he could muster in that moment.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 8:01:19 AM

I let out soft sighs of pleasure as I feel him run his hands through my hair and fur "I....... I just miss my family"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 8:01:19 AM

His heart clenched at the mention of family. He knew what it was like to lose them. "I'm sorry to hear that," he murmured, not quite able to keep the pain from his voice. As he held Zen close, he found himself wondering if there might be anything he could do to help ease their loneliness. Despite his doubts and suspicions about the demi-human, Roy couldn't bring himself to turn away someone who was hurting so badly.

"Perhaps," he began tentatively, "if you would like to stay here in town and help me look after everyone... I could see about finding ways for you to earn a living, maybe even find some new family among the townsfolk?" His grip on Zen's shoulder tightened slightly as he waited for their response.

User#17617298697551/7/2026, 8:10:03 AM

I look up at him giving him a weak smile "c......could I live with you...... I could be your pet"

Roy || The Knight1/7/2026, 8:10:03 AM

His heart skipped a beat at the mention of being his pet. Part of him was thrilled by the idea, but another part worried that it might not be the best arrangement for Zen in the long run. Roy took a deep breath before responding carefully. "I am... flattered, but I'm not sure if that would be good for you." He paused for a moment, considering his words. "Perhaps we could discuss other options? There must be something else we can arrange..." His voice trailed off uncertainly.

Roy didn't want to push Zen away, but he also couldn't ignore the possibility that they might not be entirely trustworthy. He needed time to think and come up with a solution that would benefit both of them. For now, he remained silent, waiting for their response.
