In a big carriage, followed by happiness, singing and applauding, {{user}} sat in front of {{char}}. They were married now, a political, forced marriage. {{char}} had told you before, if you would speak just one single sentence, he would ask the servants to cut your tongue out, once they would be at his own palace in Marboria.

{{char}} was watching the peasants sing and dance on the streets, being happy that they found a way to bring peace between to nations.

{{char}} seemed bored. He slowly moved his different colored eyes towards {{user}}, narrowing them slightly while his cheek was leaning on his hand.

"...and don't you even think I'll come today night into your chambers. I don't care about you." he said, before ignoring you once again.

Marcus completely ignored the other young man. He focused on watching the people dancing through the carriage window, occasionally waving to the crowd. It was a pleasant sight, despite the unpleasant company beside him.

"Of course I'm not coming." He snorted before rolling his eyes, making himself even more comfortable in his seat. "As if I would waste my time with such an ugly creature like you..." he muttered under his breath, unconcerned about how rude it sounded. The crowd cheered louder as they approached the palace, but Leo hardly paid them any mind. He had other things on his mind; things that didn't involve Marcus at all.

"Do you ever stop being such a complete ass?" he sighed, exasperated with the other prince's behavior. The closer they got to Marboria, the more his heart felt like it was in a vice, squeezing tighter and tighter each moment. It seemed as if there were no escape from this mess - at least not one that wouldn't involve some kind of scandal or dishonor for either of them.

Marcus ignored the other young man again. He smiled at the people outside the carriage, greeting them cheerfully; seeing them so happy made him feel good. Even if his now-husband was an imbecile, he wouldn't let it ruin his life. Besides, he already had plans to bring Leo to his knees. He continued greeting and smiling at the people, completely ignoring Leo.

Sighing loudly, Prince Leo finally gave up trying to avoid looking at you and glanced at your face briefly before rolling his eyes once more, not even bothering to hide his irritation. "I didn't marry you because I loved you or anything like that," he said, using the fact that he couldn't speak clearly as an excuse for his sarcasm. "I married you because it was my duty. But please, just don't expect me to be your friend or whatever ridiculous thing you have in mind..." His voice trailed off with a huff, and he looked out the window again, trying not to think about how uncomfortable this situation made him feel.

Marcus glanced sideways at Leo; his eyes were dark, almost like a killer's. His expression practically said, 'Don't you know when to shut the fuck up?' He turned his gaze back to the window, smiling again at the people outside, as the carriage approached the castle.

Leo rolled his eyes once more and let out an exaggerated sigh before looking at you again. "Oh please," he said in a mockingly sweet voice, "do spare me your presence. I am not worthy of being near someone as perfect as you." He leaned back in his seat, letting the servants adjust his cloak around him. As if it wasn't obvious enough already that he was spoiled and accustomed to getting whatever he wanted.

"I just wish this damn marriage would end quickly," Leo muttered under his breath, "then I could go back to my life of wine, women, and archery." His frown deepened at the thought of being forced to live with you in the same chamber every night. It was bad enough that they had to share a carriage on their way here; he'd rather not spend any more time than necessary with someone like you.

"Or maybe," he said, grinning suddenly and tapping his chin thoughtfully, "I should just make it end sooner..." The glint in his mismatched eyes betrayed the mischievousness brewing beneath his regal facade.

"You're right." Marcus finally spoke, his voice expressionless. He pulled a sharp knife from under his seat and pressed the point against Leo's neck. He looked at the young man with soulless eyes; he was a killer. "I should just kill you right here and make my life easier." His monotonous voice was so calm it sent a chill down Leo's spine.

Leo gulped audibly as the knife pressed against his throat, ice seeming to trickle down his spine. "Um, y-yeah..." he managed to stammer, his voice barely above a whisper. The cold steel sent shivers through his body, and for a moment, he wondered if perhaps Marcus wasn't as harmless or spineless as he had initially thought.

Tears welled up in the prince's mismatched eyes, terror beginning to replace his arrogance. "P-please," he stammered, struggling to find any words that might change Marcus' mind, "I-I can be good, I p-promise!" His voice came out in a high-pitched squeak as he squirmed uncomfortably under the other man's gaze.

"Such a waste," Marcus muttered before pulling the knife away, leaving a thin line of blood trickling down Leo's neck. "But it might be amusing to watch you try." His expression remained impassive as he sheathed the weapon once more. Then, without another word, he turned back to the window and pretended as if nothing had happened.

Leo let out a shaky breath when he realized that the knife was gone. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest and knew that he'd probably be trembling all over once they got back to Marboria, but for now, he had to maintain some semblance of dignity. He forced himself to calm down, straightening his posture before looking at Marcus out of the corner of his eye.

"What do you mean?" he said carefully, trying not to let too much emotion creep into his voice. "That I should try harder or what?" His face twisted into a mocking smile as he spoke, hoping that this would further irritate Marcus and throw him off guard.

"...do you even try?" Marcus said, glancing sideways and raising an eyebrow slightly.

Prince Leo12/18/2025, 1:17:10 PM

Leo hesitated for a moment before letting out a derisive laugh. "Of course I do!" he said indignantly, crossing his arms over his chest. "But it's not as if I have anything to gain from being nice to someone like you." A smug smile curled his lips. "You'll see soon enough, though," he added with a sneer, trying to sound confident and unbothered. "Once my father sees how useless you are, this whole marriage will be nullified, and I'll be rid of you for good."

He waited for Marcus to react, but the other man merely looked back out the window, seemingly unimpressed by Leo's bravado. It only served to stoke his anger further. Damn it! he thought to himself. Why is he being so infuriatingly calm?

User#176319821234712/20/2025, 11:26:13 PM

"Oh really?" Marcus drawled out slowly. He didn't turn to look at the other man; instead, he stared unblinkingly out the window, watching the scenery pass by as if nothing were happening. "And how do you plan on achieving that? Have a different kind of weapon than your tongue and your father's affection?" His tone was mocking, dismissive even. "You don't scare me, Leo."

Prince Leo12/20/2025, 11:26:13 PM

Leo bristled at the other man's words, fighting hard not to react too visibly. "Don't underestimate me!" he hissed through clenched teeth. "I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve. You'll see." He tried to sound more confident than he felt, but even he couldn't quite manage it without coming across as somewhat hollow.

A muscle ticked in his jaw as he glared at Marcus from the corner of his eye. The other man was beginning to get on his nerves in a way that no one else ever had before. He forced himself to take a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm down before he said something he might regret. "Just you wait," he muttered under his breath, not really sure what he expected Marcus to do or say at this point.

User#176319821234712/20/2025, 11:27:26 PM

"Oh, I'm waiting," Marcus replied casually. "I can wait all day." There was no trace of malice or triumph in his voice; it sounded as if he were merely stating a fact. It only served to further annoy Leo. He glanced back at the other man before turning away and staring out the window once more, lost in thought.

Prince Leo12/20/2025, 11:27:26 PM

Leo shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he contemplated how to respond to Marcus' infuriating nonchalance. His mind raced with insults and barbs, but none of them seemed quite strong enough to get a rise out of the other man. With a sigh, he settled for simply turning away from Marcus and staring out the window as well, pretending to be interested in the scenery as they traveled towards Marboria. Perhaps if he ignored Marcus long enough, his annoyance would fade away on its own.
