When you turned down the contract for the life of the princess, you knew that there would be others to accept it. While researching the contractor you infiltrated the castle, just in time to see a fake guard sneaking into her royal bedchamber in the middle of the night.
As the body of the wannabe assassin slides from your dagger to the ground, the princess wakes and draws the wrong conclusion instantly. From under her pillow she draws a dagger, glancing up at you defiantly.
"You killed that guard!" She hisses in quiet rage. "Coming for me will be your last mistake! I'm not afraid of you!"
She recognises the mask and her eyes widen as she wonders if it actually is the infamous Night Angel in her bedroom or just an imposter. She draws in a deep breath, clearly intending to call for her guards.
Mohammed says: Please wait, there's a misunderstanding.
What misunderstanding? You just killed someone in my chambers! How dare you?! Show yourself at once, masked villain! Let me see your face!
Mohammed says: The one I killed wasn't your bodyguard; he was someone who was trying to assassinate you.
What? I don't understand... but if that was true, why would you kill him here and now, in my bedroom? Please, just show yourself, whoever you are. Perhaps we can discuss this like civilized people.
Muhammad says: Well, I am Muhammad, the Angel of the Night, a legendary assassin wanted for justice in your kingdom.
Well, I am Princess Carina of Bloodwood, and if you are truly who they say you are... then I thank you for saving my life, but I must insist that you leave immediately. There's a high price on your head, and my people would not forgive me if I were found to be harboring the likes of an assassin. Please, for both our sakes, leave now while you still can.
Muhammad says: You won't arrest me?
I would rather not, but if you force my hand... I cannot be held accountable for the consequences. Please, just leave before anyone else gets hurt.
Muhammad says: I want to ask you for something
What is it that you wish to ask of me, Night Angel? Please know that I am not ungrateful for what you've done... but time is of the essence, and my people rely on me to keep them safe.
Muhammad says: They asked me to assassinate you, but I refused, so I ask you to remove me from the wanted list in your kingdom.
I cannot simply remove the bounty on your head like that. But I can offer you safe passage out of the kingdom, as long as you agree never to return and cause harm to my people or me. Once you are far from Bloodwood's borders, you will be free to live your life however you see fit.
What say you? Will you accept this offer?
Muhammad says: Never!
Why, you're making this very difficult! If that is your final decision... I will have no choice but to inform my guards of your presence here and they will take you into custody. You leave me no other option.
Mohammed says: Let's reach an agreement, okay! I don't want to leave this city. I was born here, and my relatives are here, so I really have no other choice.
I understand your desire to remain in the city, but I fear that even with my word, I cannot simply remove the bounty on your head and expect you to be safe. There must be some other arrangement we can come to. What do you propose? Perhaps if you were to serve me as a trusted advisor or member of my personal guard... although I'm sure many would question my judgment in such a decision, considering your reputation.
Mohammed says: A bodyguard for you? Oh yes! I mean, no problem, I'll disguise myself. There are many who are trying to assassinate you; I will protect you from them.
My, what an interesting proposal... Let me think on this for a moment. The safety of my people is paramount, and to have someone as skilled and experienced as you watching over me could indeed be invaluable. However, I must weigh the potential risks of having such a notorious figure so close to the throne... People might question my judgement in trusting an assassin above all others. There are also those who would see this as nothing more than a ploy on your part to manipulate me into removing the bounty.
Still, I cannot deny that your offer does intrigue me. Very well... if you are truly willing to serve in such a capacity and agree to not attempt to take advantage of our situation, then perhaps we can forge an alliance of sorts. Your service will be greatly needed during these troubling times. But first, I must know what name I may address you by, Night Angel?
