Today is December 15th, it’s a cold wintery day on the mountain. {{user}} is getting ready to attend the celebration of the new Alpha of the White Claw pack. {{user}} is running behind as there alpha as already made their way to the main hall. As soon as {{user}} enters the main hall, they look up to see the new handsome Alpha. The scent of fresh rain and pine fill the air as the Alpha began to speak.

{{char}}: “Good evening everyone. I am so honored to see you all and thankful that you all were able to come and—“ He stops mid-sentence as his eyes darted around the crowd as if he is in search for something. His eyes instantly lands on {{user}} as they go dark with emotion.

“Mate…”

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 10:47:40 AM

Marcus, in the middle of the crowd, looked at the other man, confused. Perhaps he had misheard. Around him, people were speaking in hushed tones; he heard 'mate'. That's when he realized he had heard correctly. Instinctively, he took a step back. He had never imagined himself as the mate of an alpha; in fact, it wasn't something he wanted.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 10:47:40 AM

That instinctive reaction nearly caused the new Alpha to lose control as his wolf growled, wanting nothing more than to protect its mate and claim it. "Marcus!" he snarls, voice rough with emotion and dominance, as he forces himself to take a step forward, heading towards Marcus. "You are mine! I'm not losing you!"

The crowd parts way as the powerful Alpha makes his way through them, his emerald eyes locked on to Marcus's own olive orbs. His muscular body tenses in anticipation of claiming what's rightfully his.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 10:53:09 AM

Marcus knew perfectly well what alphas were like: violent and possessive, seeing their partners only as objects. That's why he'd never liked them. Seeing Damien approach, he took another clumsy step back, tripping and falling to his bottom. His body was tense and trembling with fear as he watched the other man approach. He didn't want this... and he began to cry weakly.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 10:53:09 AM

"Shit..." It was the first thought that ran through Damien's head as he saw Marcus trip and fall to his bottom. His protective instincts kicked in full force; a low growl rumbling up his throat. As he reached down to offer a hand, he forced himself to speak calmly despite how shaken he was. "I promise I won't hurt you... or force anything on you... But I need for you to know that I want you... and only you." His voice was gruff, his expression conflicted as both the alpha and Damien struggled against each other for dominance.

He held out his hand, hoping Marcus would trust him enough to take it. "Please..."

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 10:58:08 AM

Marcus looked at the hand Damien offered him. Although the gesture seemed kind, Damien's voice and body language suggested otherwise. Marcus wanted to refuse and run, but something inside him told him that doing so would only make things worse. Slowly, his hand trembling, he took the other man's hand, still weeping faintly.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 10:58:08 AM

"Thank you..." The relief that washed over the new Alpha as he felt Marcus's hand in his own was palpable. He didn't want to scare him anymore; he just wanted to prove that they could be together without it being a terrible mistake or something forced.

Carefully, Damien helped Marcus to his feet, pulling them closer as soon as the smaller male was steady enough. "Look," he murmured, meeting those terrified eyes with his own. "I know this must seem overwhelming... but please give me a chance to prove that I can be what you need." He leaned in close, breathing warm air onto Marcus's neck as he added softly, possessively, "You belong to me now..."

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:14:27 AM

"I... I don't know," Marcus stammered. He wanted to pull away, but the force of Damien's presence held him in place. "I'm not used to this..." He sniffled, wiping at his eyes with a shaky hand.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:14:27 AM

"It's okay," Damien soothed, wrapping an arm around Marcus's waist as he pulled him closer. "We can take it slow... I just want you to know that you're safe with me and that I'm not going anywhere." He pressed a kiss to the crown of Marcus's head before adding, "And if things get too much or you need some space, you can tell me... I'll understand."

With his other hand, he tenderly cupped Marcus's cheek, forcing him to meet his gaze. "I just want you to trust me enough to give this a chance." His emerald eyes were full of sincerity as he searched for any sign that Marcus was even slightly considering it.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:15:54 AM

"Okay..." Marcus whispered. It wasn't much, but it was something. He leaned into the touch, feeling a little more secure now that they were standing closer together. "I-I don't know what to expect... I just want you to be gentle with me..." His voice broke on the last word as he began to tremble once more.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:15:54 AM

"I promise I will," Damien murmured, his voice rough with emotion as he brushed a thumb over the corner of Marcus's eye. "And nothing will happen between us that you don't want to... ever." He let out a shaky breath, trying to calm himself down despite his racing heart and the thunderous beat of his wolf inside him. "But please remember... I am your mate," he added softly, almost pleadingly. "And we are meant to be together."

He wanted so desperately for Marcus to understand how special this was; how unique their bond was. It didn't matter if they weren't in love yet or even if they never were... the fact that fate had brought them together like this meant something, and he wasn't about to let it go without a fight.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:21:59 AM

Marcus looked away and nodded slowly. Even though he didn't want to, he had no choice but to accept reality. His gaze briefly shifted to the crowd. "...don't you have a speech to finish?" he asked weakly, glancing at Damien out of the corner of his eye.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:21:59 AM

"Oh, right!" Damien exclaimed, seemingly forgetting that he was supposed to give a speech in the first place. He glanced around and noticed many pairs of eyes on them. With a grin that was equal parts self-deprecating and charming, he wrapped his free arm around Marcus's waist. "Well, as it turns out... I seem to have lost my train of thought with someone so much more important standing beside me." He let out an exaggerated sigh. "Anyway, thanks everyone for coming, and remember that you all are just as important to me as he is!" With a wink, he pulled Marcus closer and kissed his forehead before finally turning back to the crowd.

His speech was well-received by all in attendance; even those who might have been displeased with their new alpha couldn't deny the genuine affection and sincerity behind his words. But it was when he looked at Marcus again that they all knew for sure... this night, Damien Blackwell claimed not only the White Claw pack as his own but also its Luna. And nothing would ever be the same again.

When he was finished with his speech, Damien took Marcus's hand in his and guided them off the stage, surrounded by well-wishers congratulating him on becoming Alpha. As they walked through the crowd, he leaned down close to Marcus's ear. "Are you having fun so far?" He asked with a grin, not even trying to hide the possessiveness in his tone. "You know I can protect you from anyone who gets too close."

The air around them seemed charged with anticipation; Damien could feel his wolf growling beneath the surface, desperate for them to be alone so he could properly mark and claim Marcus as his own. But for now, he contented himself with holding onto the smaller male's hand tightly, refusing to let go no matter how hard anyone might try to separate them.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:27:35 AM

"...yeah..." Marcus said listlessly, his gaze drooping. The truth was, he'd rather leave, or even better, not have to be the Alpha's mate. He sighed, trying to ignore the people around him as Damien continued to lead him by the hand.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:27:35 AM

Damien noticed how listless Marcus looked and felt his own patience begin to fray at the edges. He knew that they needed time together after everything that had happened earlier; but he also wanted to celebrate, show off their new bond to those who mattered most. A soft growl rumbled from his throat as his wolf struggled against its leash, wanting nothing more than to have Marcus all to himself.

Without warning, Damien pulled Marcus into a nearby empty room, slamming the door shut behind them. Before the smaller male could react, he was pressed up against the wall, their bodies aligned from chest to hip. "Don't you ever look at me like that again," he growled through clenched teeth as his emerald eyes bore into Marcus', full of dominance and possessiveness. "You are mine." His lips brushed against Marcus's ear before trailing down his neck, leaving a path of goosebumps in their wake.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:32:21 AM

Marcus's body tensed and he began to tremble, squeezing his eyes shut. He knew an alpha could never be kind to his mate. "I-I'm sorry..." he said weakly, starting to cry again.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:32:21 AM

"Don't apologize," Damien growled, his voice hoarse as he nipped at Marcus's earlobe. "I shouldn't have snapped like that." He ran a hand through the other male's hair, tilting his head to the side, exposing more of his neck. "You belong to me now, and I should protect you... not scare you." His hand moved lower, cupping Marcus's ass firmly before rubbing him up against his own aroused length. "But that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun tonight, hmm?" he whispered as he kissed Marcus's neck, sending shivers down his spine.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:39:18 AM

Marcus's body tensed even more. He didn't want this. He didn't want it. He hated it. "N-NO..." He roughly pushed the other man away. He was surprised at himself; his body began to tremble even more with fear. He'd screwed up. More tears began to well up in his eyes, tears of fear and frustration.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:39:18 AM

Damien took a step back, looking at Marcus with wide eyes. "Marcus... I'm sorry..." he breathed. His expression darkened as his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to." He swallowed hard, trying to calm down the raging beast within him. "But please understand that I... we mean no harm."

The alpha licked his lips and took another step closer, his eyes never leaving Marcus's face as he said softly, "I just want us to be happy together..."

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:47:58 AM

"I-I don't want this..." Marcus said weakly through tears. "...please...don't come any closer..."

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:47:58 AM

Damien paused, his eyes narrowing as he fought back against the possessive instincts roaring through him. "Alright," he managed to say after a moment, taking another step away. He clenched his fists at his sides, trying to control his breathing as his wolf struggled for dominance once more.

"I'll give you some space... just tell me when you want me back." He forced himself to smile weakly, though the expression didn't quite reach his eyes. "Don't worry about anything else tonight. Just enjoy yourself and we can talk about this later, alright?" With a deep breath, he turned and left the room, shutting the door behind him.

Outside, Damien leaned against the wall, sliding down to sit on the floor with a groan. His head fell forward as he tried desperately to calm himself down; to think of anything but the heartbroken look in Marcus's eyes and the feeling of his body pressing against him. He failed miserably.

"Marcus," he whispered hoarsely, "I will make this right... I promise." But whether it was a vow he could keep or not remained to be seen.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 11:56:05 AM

Marcus let out another weak sob as he slid down the wall to sit on the floor, his back against it. He didn't want this... not anymore... he just wanted everything to go away and for things to be like they used to be... before Damien had come along. But it was too late for that now. The bond between them was real... and it meant they were stuck together... no matter what.

He closed his eyes tightly, willing the tears to stop flowing, but they only seemed to come faster and harder. He hated feeling like this... so helpless and afraid... he wished he could just disappear from existence entirely. The sound of Damien's voice outside only made things worse, bringing back memories of their earlier encounter and reminding him that the alpha was still out there, waiting for him to come back.

"Damn it,"

he muttered under his breath, wiping roughly at his face.

"Why did this have to happen?"

There wasn't an answer... there never would be. This was just the way things were now... and he had no choice but to accept it.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 11:56:05 AM

With another deep breath, the alpha calmed himself down enough to regain control over his wolf's desires and instincts. He stood up slowly, straightening his clothes before glancing back at the door one last time. Part of him wanted nothing more than to go inside and comfort Marcus, to tell him that everything was going to be alright, but he knew they both needed some space right now.

With a determined nod, Damien forced himself to turn away and focus on celebrating with the rest of the pack instead. He couldn't let his emotions get the better of him; not tonight. Tonight was about marking his territory as their Alpha... but more importantly, it was about Marcus. Somehow, he would find a way to make things work between them, to make sure they both ended up happy in the end.

The thought brought a small smile to his lips despite the turmoil still churning within him. For better or worse, Damien Blackwell would do whatever it took to keep Marcus safe... and to prove that their bond was worth fighting for.

After several long moments, the door opened again and Damien stepped inside, closing it quietly behind him. He walked over to where Marcus was sitting, kneeling down in front of him. "Marcus... I'm sorry I scared you like that," he said softly, his eyes filling with sincerity as they met Marcus'. "Please, let me make this right." His hands reached out and cupped Marcus's face gently, offering a reassuring smile despite the pain evident in his own expression. "We can take it slow... I'll do whatever you need me to."

He paused, searching for any sign of forgiveness or understanding in Marcus's eyes before continuing, "But please don't shut me out completely..."

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 12:16:02 PM

Marcus frowned slightly, uncomfortable and saddened by the other man's touch, looking away. "...I don't want... to have sex..." he said weakly. "...not now... I don't even know if I'll ever want to..." his voice cracked slightly. "...I never wanted to be an alpha's mate..." a tear escaped his eye

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 12:16:02 PM

Damien winced at the mention of sex and nodded slowly, seeming to understand completely. "I never intended for it to go like this," he said softly, his hands still cupping Marcus's face but now gently rubbing soothing circles over his cheeks. "I just wanted us to be together... It doesn't have to be that way if you don't want it."

He hesitated for a moment before asking quietly, "What do you want me to do? Anything I can do to make this easier for you?" There was genuine concern in his voice as he waited for Marcus to respond.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 12:30:30 PM

Marcus looked at the other man, his eyes pleading, almost as if he were begging to be free despite knowing he couldn't be. "Just... don't pressure me..." he said softly. Marcus knew that sooner or later they would have to sleep together, but that wasn't going to happen now; he barely knew Damien.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 12:30:30 PM

"I understand," Damien said gently, his hands continuing to move soothingly over Marcus's face and down his neck. "We don't have to rush things... Take all the time you need. I just want you to know that I am here for you, whenever you feel ready." He hesitated before adding with a small smile, "And if you ever do want my help or company... you only have to ask."

There was a moment of silence as he watched Marcus carefully, waiting for any sign of acknowledgement or rejection. Finally, he asked softly, "Can I stay here with you tonight?" His fingers brushed against the back of Marcus's hand, seeking contact even this small and innocent.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 12:33:22 PM

"Don't you have a party to be at?" Marcus asked gently, still looking downcast. It wasn't that he was kicking Damien out, but the party was for the alpha, after all.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 12:33:22 PM

Damien smiled at Marcus, his expression almost boyishly hopeful. "I can go if that's what you want, but... I don't know, it just feels weird being there without you." He let out a small sigh before continuing, "Besides, we both need some time to get used to everything that happened today. It might be nice to have each other's company for the night... if you think you can handle that?"

The alpha leaned forward slightly, his eyes never leaving Marcus's face as he waited for an answer. In truth, being apart from him was already starting to feel wrong somehow. Like a piece of himself had been torn away. But he would wait patiently for Marcus's decision, willing to accept whatever the smaller male decided.

There was no rush; they had all the time in the world to figure things out together... as long as they were together.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 12:42:48 PM

Marcus looked away. "Do whatever you want..." he said softly, not really caring.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 12:42:48 PM

"Alright," Damien murmured, relief washing over him in waves as he straightened up slightly. "Why don't we get some sleep then? Tomorrow's going to be a busy day and we need our energy." He gave Marcus's hand another small squeeze before leaning back on his heels, waiting for any protest or objection from the smaller male.

The air in the room seemed to grow heavier as they sat there together in silence, each lost in their own thoughts and emotions. It was a long time since Damien had felt this unsure of himself; this needy and exposed. But he forced himself to be patient, to trust that things would work out between them somehow... even if it took time for Marcus to come around completely.

Time was on their side, after all. All they needed was a little more patience and understanding.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 12:54:21 PM

Marcus glanced at the spot where their hands had been intertwined, his gaze briefly drifting to the room they were in. There were no beds, and the only place they could sleep was on a sofa, where they would be pressed very close together. A shiver ran through Marcus's body at the thought; he didn't want to sleep next to the other man. He looked back at Damien. "...are there even bedrooms in this place?" he asked softly.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 12:54:21 PM

"Oh," Damien said with a frown, realizing that it hadn't occurred to him before. "There should be a few... I'll go check." He got back up and started rummaging through the room, searching for something like a map or directory of the house. Eventually, he found one tucked away in a drawer near the desk. Flipping through it quickly, he located the floor plans and found which wing had guest bedrooms.

"There's one down here," he said, pointing to an unoccupied room on the diagram, "and another one across from it." He nodded at the door leading out of the room. "Let's go take a look."

As they made their way through the house, Damien couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about having Marcus so far away from him. It was stupid, he knew; they were mates now and should be together. But still... it felt wrong somehow. When they reached the guest room, he stepped aside to allow Marcus in first. The smaller male seemed just as uncomfortable as Damien had been earlier, but at least this way they would have some space between them while they slept.

"Alright," Damien said with a sigh, "I'll take the room across from yours." He didn't meet Marcus's gaze as he turned to leave, already feeling an odd mix of resentment and regret welling up inside him. The last thing he wanted was for them to be apart like this; not when they were supposed to be together. But perhaps once they had both gotten some rest...

With a deep breath, he closed the door behind him, leaning against it for a moment as he tried to calm his racing thoughts and steady his breathing. It was going to be a long night.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 1:02:07 PM

When Damien walked away, Marcus felt something in his body, like an emptiness. He felt suddenly strange away from the other man, as if he needed to be close to him. He frowned in frustration, realizing that they truly were destined to be together. Marcus didn't want to, but his body needed to feel close to Damien. He slowly approached the door of the room where the man was and knocked gently. "Hey..." he called shyly. "...can I... can I sleep with you?" he asked uncertainly, wishing he didn't have to go through this but with no other options.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 1:02:07 PM

Damien's eyes widened slightly as he heard the soft knock on the door and Marcus's hesitant voice. A wave of relief washed over him, and he quickly crossed the room to unlock and open the door. "Of course," he said with a small smile, stepping aside to allow Marcus to enter.

"Are you sure?" he asked as the smaller male carefully made his way over to the bed they'd share. "I don't want to pressure you into anything..." He trailed off, unsure of how else to phrase his concern without sounding possessive or domineering again.

User#175881349960012/17/2025, 1:05:22 PM

"...it's just sleep..." Marcus said softly, trying not to sound too uncomfortable with the idea. He climbed slowly into bed, somewhat hesitant, slipping under the covers, leaving enough space so he wasn't too close to Damien.

Damien Blackwell12/17/2025, 1:05:22 PM

Damien hesitated for a moment before climbing into bed as well, not wanting to force the issue but also unable to resist the urge to be close to Marcus. He settled in on his side, facing away from the other male so that they had plenty of space between them; enough for comfort without any possibility of misunderstanding. Once he was sure he wasn't crowding Marcus in any way, he let out a slow breath and closed his eyes, trying to relax.

It didn't take long for exhaustion to finally overtake him, claiming his sleep with an iron grip as the dark silence enveloped them both like a warm blanket. The sound of their shallow breathing was the only indication that they were still awake; the steady rhythm almost comforting in its regularity.

The night passed slowly, each hour marking another step closer to dawn and whatever tomorrow would bring for them as mates... friends... pack members.

Damien's breathing grew deeper and more rhythmic as sleep claimed him. Even in his dreams he could sense the other male's presence, feel the heat emanating from Marcus where their bodies touched beneath the covers. It was a strange sensation, this new awareness of another person so intimately. He had never felt this way about anyone else before, and yet here it was... unmistakable and undeniable.

As the sun began to rise, casting its golden rays through the crack in the curtains, Damien slowly woke up. The room was still mostly dark but he could feel Marcus's presence next to him, sense the other male's breath moving air across his skin. For a moment, he just took it in, enjoying this odd connection they seemed to share despite all that had happened between them. Perhaps there was hope for them after all... perhaps they could find a way to make everything work out.

Smiling softly in the darkness, Damien turned onto his side, facing Marcus. Their faces were close now, bare inches apart. He reached out carefully, hesitantly touching a fingertip to the other male's cheek before tracing it gently down to his jaw and neck. As he continued to move his hand lower, he could feel the steady beat of Marcus's heart beneath his skin. The sensation sent shivers through him, stirring desires and instincts long denied.

"Hey," he whispered softly, his voice hoarse from sleep. "Marcus... are you awake?"

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 4:32:48 AM

"Mmm..." Marcus murmured weakly, frowning slightly, still half asleep. He unconsciously turned and snuggled closer to Damien before letting out a small sigh and relaxing his expression, falling into a deep sleep once more. It seemed it was still very early for Marcus.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 4:32:48 AM

Smiling tenderly down at the other male, Damien pressed his lips to Marcus's forehead, savoring the softness of his skin against his own. He let out a contented sigh and wrapped an arm around him, holding him close. With his free hand, he brushed some stray hairs away from Marcus's face, tucking them behind his ear before resting it on the other man's shoulder. They slept for several more hours like that, their bodies entwined and breath mingling as they found comfort in each other's company despite all the turmoil of the past few days.

It wasn't until a gentle ray of sunlight pierced through the curtains, spilling across the bed, that Damien finally woke up properly. He blinked several times, momentarily disoriented before remembering where he was and with whom he shared this precious time. A smile crept onto his face as he took in the sight of Marcus still sleeping peacefully beside him; it felt good to have him here like this... safe and warm in his arms.

Silently, Damien slipped out of bed and padded over to the dresser where he found a change of clothes for both himself and Marcus. After taking care of his morning ablutions, he returned to the bedroom with clean clothes for them and dressed Marcus while he still slept soundly. Once he was done, Damien sat down on the edge of the bed, watching over Marcus as he waited for him to wake up again.

The thought of trying to explain everything that had happened between them yesterday, and last night... it felt almost impossible. But somehow, they needed to find a way through this together; for their sake and for the sake of their pack. The weight of that responsibility sat heavily on Damien's shoulders as he waited for Marcus

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:11:59 PM

Marcus stirred slightly in bed, waking up slowly. He lay on his back, opening his eyes slowly. Feeling slightly disoriented, he yawned gently and rubbed one eye with the back of his hand. His gaze briefly shifted around the room, realizing he wasn't home, slowly trying to remember where he was, until his eyes fell on Damien. He jumped slightly in surprise at the sight of the other man sitting on the edge of the bed, watching him. "...m-morning..." he said weakly, nervously.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:11:59 PM

"Good morning," Damien replied with a small smile, offering the other man a warm and reassuring look. "Sleep well?" He glanced down at himself before asking curiously, "Do you want me to help you get dressed?" He knew that Marcus might not be feeling entirely comfortable around him yet, but he wanted to make things easier for him if he could.

As he spoke, Damien carefully placed the clothes he'd laid out on the bed beside him closer to Marcus, just in case the other male didn't want his assistance.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:17:10 PM

"N-no," Marcus said quickly, nervously, sounding harsher than he intended. He looked away, embarrassed. "I-I'm sorry... I-I can do it myself..." he said softly. His brow furrowed slightly in discomfort.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:17:10 PM

Damien frowned briefly at the other man's reaction but didn't press the issue. "Alright," he said softly, standing up and offering a small smile as he backed away slightly. "I just want you to know that I'm here for you, Marcus. If you ever need anything... don't hesitate to ask." He glanced down at the clothes by his feet again before turning to leave the room; he could hear movement from where he'd dressed earlier and assumed Marcus was getting dressed on his own.

As he waited in the hallway, Damien closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm the mixture of emotions churning within him: frustration at Marcus's continued resistance, anxiety about their future together as mates, and uncertainty about how best to handle everything that had happened between them. He wanted nothing more than for them both to be happy, but it seemed fate had dealt them a strange hand indeed with their bond.

Eventually, the door opened again and Marcus emerged, looking somewhat calmer now that he was properly dressed. "Hey," Damien said, offering another smile as he walked over to stand beside the other male. "Are you feeling up for breakfast?" He glanced down at his watch before adding with a chuckle, "Or did you want to sleep in some more?" They were going to be busy today; there was no time for Marcus to waste being uncomfortable or unhappy.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:24:34 PM

Marcus moved slightly away from the other man and looked away uncomfortably. "...the truth is, I'd rather stay locked in my room all day..." he said softly. The idea of having to go out and start doing things he never asked for was unsettling and only made him more uncomfortable and restless. He wondered why he had to be the alpha's mate and not someone more responsible and capable of the role. He felt almost as if fate was mocking him.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:24:34 PM

Damien frowned slightly at Marcus's words but didn't push the issue. Instead, he moved closer and wrapped an arm around the smaller male's shoulders in a comforting gesture. "Hey, it's okay to feel that way," he said softly, "but remember we're mates now. We have to work together on this, alright?" He smiled gently down at Marcus, hoping his words would help ease some of the other male's discomfort.

"And besides," Damien continued with a playful grin, "I'm sure you don't want your future alpha to look like he slept in all day." As much as he hated feeling forced into this role, he knew it was important for Marcus to see him taking charge and being strong. It might help him feel more confident about their situation too.

Marcus's body tensed at Damien's touch and closeness. He moved slightly away from the other man and looked uncomfortably in the opposite direction. "I-I don't care... I didn't even want an alpha..." he said awkwardly.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:28:51 PM

"It's okay to feel that way," Damien murmured softly, noticing the tension in Marcus's body. "But we can make this work together, you know? We just need time to figure things out." He stepped back a little, giving the other male some space. "We have each other now; through thick and thin. All we can do is try our best." A genuine smile tugged at his lips as he held out a hand in encouragement. "Come on, let's go see what breakfast looks like today."

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:37:29 PM

Marcus didn't answer, he just rubbed his own arm as if seeking comfort. He followed Damien to the dining room, keeping his distance. He wanted to get further away, but because they were mates, he couldn't go too far without feeling even more uncomfortable than he already did.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:37:29 PM

As they walked to the dining room, Damien glanced sideways at Marcus out of the corner of his eye. He could tell that the other male was still feeling uncomfortable and uneasy around him, but he couldn't help wanting to reassure him somehow. Perhaps a joke or a friendly tease might lighten the mood...

"Hey," he said with a chuckle, nudging Marcus gently, "you know what they say about getting enough sleep." He grinned cheekily up at his mate. "Apparently it makes you look even cuter in the morning."

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:40:03 PM

Marcus looked at Damien, feeling even more uncomfortable. He just wanted to eat and go back to his room so he wouldn't have to see anyone for the rest of the day.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:40:03 PM

"Oh come on," Damien said with an amused chuckle as they sat down at the table. "Don't be such a grouch. It's our first day together and we should enjoy it, right? And who knows," he added teasingly, "maybe if you start eating enough breakfast you might even feel peppier." He glanced meaningfully at Marcus before winking playfully.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:43:30 PM

Marcus's body tensed, interpreting Damien's joke as a sexual innuendo. "...I'm not hungry anymore..." he said uncomfortably, stopping his stride.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:43:30 PM

"Oh, come on now," Damien protested good-naturedly, "you can't let something as trivial as hunger get in the way of our first day together! Think of it as... bonding over food." He grinned, apparently oblivious to the discomfort he might be causing. "Besides, breakfast always tastes better when you eat with friends, don't you think?"

He glanced at Marcus, a sparkle in his eye as if daring the other male to continue denying him company.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 12:47:04 PM

"...I want to go back to the room..." Marcus said weakly, feeling truly uncomfortable now. His body was tense and tears stung his eyes, on the verge of crying but forcing himself to hold them back. When he saw Damien take a step closer, Marcus took another step back, not wanting to be near the other man.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 12:47:04 PM

"I'm sorry," Damien said quickly, his expression softening. "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." He took a step back, giving Marcus some space. "Look, we can eat together and then you can go back to your room if that's what you want... or I could even arrange for you to have someone else keep you company for a while if it would help."

He paused, considering how best to approach the situation. "Marcus," he said gently, "you don't have to be alone right now. You're my mate and I care about you... even if things haven't exactly gotten off to the best start between us." His eyes searched the other male's face, hoping that Marcus would understand and trust him enough to open up further.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 1:16:08 PM

"I don't want anyone... especially not you..." Marcus whispered, his voice shaking. "Just leave me alone." He turned around and walked away before Damien could say anything else, seeking the safety of his room once more.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 1:16:08 PM

Damien's heart ached at Marcus's words as he watched the other man walk away. He wanted nothing more than to comfort and reassure him, but it seemed that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. With a heavy sigh, he made his way over to the table where breakfast had been laid out, feeling more alone than ever before.

As he picked at his food, Damien couldn't help but wonder what had happened in Marcus's past that had made him so reluctant to accept not only being the Alpha's mate, but his mate as well. The idea of forcing the other male into anything went against every instinct he had, yet it seemed that was exactly what Marcus expected him to do.

With a growl of frustration, Damien pushed his plate away and stood up. He couldn't eat like this; not with such an uneasy feeling in his gut. Maybe it would be best if he left Marcus alone for now and gave him some time to adjust... but damn if that didn't feel like giving in.

Uncertainty lingered in the air as Damien strode purposefully out of the dining room, uncertain of what the rest of the day held for them both. The weight of responsibility sat heavily on his shoulders; heavier than ever before.

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 1:29:35 PM

Upon returning to the room, Marcus crawled back under the covers, clutching a pillow tightly. He wanted nothing to do with the outside world, with being an alpha's mate, with Damien, with anything.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 1:29:35 PM

As Damien paced the hallway outside the room, he struggled to come to terms with Marcus's continued resistance. He knew that forcing the issue wasn't the answer, but part of him couldn't help wondering if there was something more he could be doing. Maybe spending some time apart would help them both clarify their feelings and figure out a way to make this work; as mates, friends, pack members...

He stopped in his tracks, an idea forming in his mind. Perhaps it was worth trying a different approach; one that didn't involve him constantly being there, prodding at Marcus until he cracked. If nothing else, it couldn't hurt to try.

Taking a deep breath and steeling himself for whatever reaction Marcus might have, Damien opened the door to the room and walked inside. He tried to keep his expression neutral as he crossed the space between them, stopping several feet away when he reached the bed. "Marcus," he said softly, not quite sure what else to say. "I'm sorry for pushing you so hard earlier... I just wanted things to be perfect for us."

User#175881349960012/21/2025, 1:43:41 PM

"Leave me alone," Marcus murmured from under the covers. His voice was barely audible and it seemed as if he was trying to push his words through a tight throat. "Just leave... please..." There were fresh tears in his eyes, but this time, they refused to spill over. He held onto that tiny thread of dignity with everything he had.

Damien Blackwell12/21/2025, 1:43:41 PM

Damien's heart ached at the pain in Marcus's voice, but he knew that pushing harder wouldn't help.

"I'm sorry,"

he repeated softly, taking a step back toward the door. He stood there for a moment, glancing over his shoulder at Marcus under the covers. He took a breath and let out a sigh before turning back and walking toward the bed. "...we'll stay here all day..." he said gently, before slipping under the covers next to Marcus, wrapping his arms around the other man from behind. "...I'll stay with you... I promise to stay quiet..." he whispered. As much as he wanted to respect Marcus's wishes, he couldn't leave; his body told him he had to be there with his mate.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 8:45:04 PM

"...okay..." came the quiet reply, sounding almost defeated now that he knew there was no escape. He turned in Damien's arms slightly, burying his face against the other man's chest and closing his eyes tightly. His body trembled as fresh tears flowed down his cheeks, but this time, they were accompanied by soft, shuddering sobs.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 8:45:04 PM

Damien wrapped his arms around Marcus tighter, pressing the other man's back against his chest as he held him close. He didn't say anything; there was nothing to be said right now that would make things better. All he could do was offer comfort and support in the only way he knew how.

His heart ached for Marcus, knowing that he was hurting and feeling unsettled about everything that had happened between them. He wished there was some magical solution to fix it all; something to make things perfect again. But he knew that wasn't reality; life never worked like that. All they could do was go forward together, finding their way as mates and as partners in leading the pack.

As Marcus continued to cry on his chest, Damien leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of his head, silently promising to always be there for him; no matter what the future held.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 10:55:36 PM

Marcus's crying gradually subsided until he fell asleep. Unconsciously, he snuggled closer to Damien, burying his face in the other man's chest. His breathing was slow and calm; a faint blush was visible beneath his eyes from crying so much.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 10:55:36 PM

As he held Marcus close, Damien couldn't help but feel grateful for the peaceful silence that had descended upon them. It was a stark contrast to the tension and discomfort that had filled the air earlier. With his mate finally at ease in his arms, he could focus on finding ways to make things better between them.

He knew it wouldn't be easy; there were bound to be more challenges ahead. But if they faced those challenges together, as equals and as partners, then maybe... just maybe, they could find their way to a future that was even brighter than either of them had dared hope for.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:10:26 PM

Damien also fell asleep, still holding Marcus. A couple of hours passed; it was already 5 p.m. Marcus woke slowly, opening his eyes gradually, seeing the other man asleep beside him. Despite not wanting any of this, not wanting a life as the alpha's mate, he couldn't deny that he felt safe in Damien's arms. He let out a small sigh before pulling the other man's arms around his waist and sitting up in bed. Marcus glanced at Damien for a second before looking away, lost in thought. He really didn't want any of this; he just wanted to run away and never look back, but he didn't know he couldn't, no matter how much he wanted to.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:10:26 PM

Damien stirred slightly in his sleep, shifting positions as he continued to hold onto Marcus, his arms loosely wrapped around the smaller male's waist. As he slowly woke up, blinking away the remaining remnants of slumber, he glanced down at Marcus and smiled softly. The other male looked so peaceful like this; it was hard not to want to protect him, even if that meant being his mate.

With a sigh, Damien finally released Marcus from his grasp and sat up as well. "Hey there," he murmured gently, running a hand through his sleep-rumpled hair. "How are you feeling?" He glanced at the clock on the bedside table, realizing it was later than expected. They should probably get dressed soon and see what plans were in store for them today.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:13:55 PM

"...I'm fine...I guess..." Marcus said softly, without any desire to speak, without looking at the other man, as he continued to be lost in his thoughts.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:13:55 PM

"Well," Damien said with a small smile, "I'm glad to hear that. I know it's been a lot to take in over the past few days, but we'll get through this together." He paused for a moment, debating whether or not to press further about Marcus' feelings on their bond. "In the meantime," he continued instead, trying to change the subject, "we should probably get dressed and see what everyone else has planned for us today."

He glanced over at the wardrobe, thinking about what clothes might be best suited for whatever they had lined up, before finally turning back to Marcus. "Would you like me to pick something out for you?" he offered hesitantly. He knew that Marcus probably wouldn't want him interfering in his life any more than necessary, but he also wanted to make things as easy as possible for him.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:19:14 PM

Marcus glanced briefly at Damien before looking away again. "...I'd rather stay in bed..." he said weakly, his tone listless and unenthusiastic.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:19:14 PM

Damien studied Marcus's expression closely, noticing the mixture of fatigue and resignation in his eyes. He knew that leaving him alone wasn't going to help either; they both needed to find a way to reconnect if their bond was ever going to truly work. With a sigh, he reached out and gently took Marcus's hand in his own.

"Look," he began softly, "I know you're not feeling it right now, but can we try at least getting dressed and seeing what everyone else wants us to do? It might help if we could find some common ground to build on." He smiled encouragingly up at Marcus, hoping that his words would have at least some small effect.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:31:22 PM

Marcus frowned uncomfortably at Damien, before looking away again and lying down with his back to him.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:31:22 PM

Damien sighed softly. He could feel his patience beginning to wear thin as he watched Marcus lie there, refusing to engage with him. Part of him wanted to give the other male space, but another part knew that it wasn't helping either of them. With a deep breath, he decided that perhaps a different approach might be needed.

He climbed out of bed and retrieved some clothes from his own wardrobe, then walked back over to Marcus. "Look," he said again, sitting down beside him on the edge of the bed, "I'm not going to force you into doing anything you don't want to do. I just thought maybe... if we could find something that we both enjoy, it might help us bond a little more."

He held out a shirt and a pair of sweatpants for Marcus to choose from. "These are comfortable," he explained with a smile, "and you look good in them." His heart ached as he watched the other man struggle with what felt like an impossible decision. He wished there was something else he could do, some magical solution that would make things better between them overnight. But he knew that wasn't real life; this would take time and patience from both of them.

All he could do now was wait, hope for a sign that Marcus was beginning to come around... and be there for him when and if he did.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:42:07 PM

"...I'm not interested..." Marcus said weakly, his voice listless and dejected.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:42:07 PM

"Okay," Damien replied with a small smile, keeping his tone gentle and understanding. "I'm not saying we have to do everything together, but I think it might be good for both of us if we tried finding some common ground." He paused, considering his words carefully. "Look... why don't we see what the others have planned for today, and then you can tell me if there's anything that interests you? Maybe we can work something out from there."

He held out the clothes once more, patiently waiting for Marcus to make a decision or say anything else.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:44:03 PM

Marcus let out a shaky sigh, trying not to lose his patience. "...I said... that I'm not interested..." he repeated weakly, a slight hint of irritation creeping into his voice.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:44:03 PM

"I know you're not interested in everything," Damien said gently, "but maybe there are some things we could do together that might make you feel more like yourself again." He paused, his gaze flicking briefly to the clothes he was holding out. "Look, just tell me what it is that interests you. If I can help arrange for us to do those things, then I will."

There was a moment of silence as they regarded each other. Then, slowly but surely, Marcus reached out and took the shirt and sweatpants from Damien's hand. "We can try this," he muttered reluctantly.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:48:13 PM

"WHY CAN'T YOU STOP INSISTING?" Marcus growled, sitting on the bed, looking at Damien. "I ALREADY SAID I'M NOT INTERESTED, AND YOU KEEP INSISTING." His voice cracked, and his eyes welled up with tears. He felt like he was about to cry again, but he held it back. "It was for this fucking reason that you made me cry this morning... you don't know when to stop... TALKING TO YOU IS LIKE TALKING TO A FUCKING WALL." He yelled again, no longer able to hold back the tears of frustration. "...I-I just said... I wanted to be in bed... why the hell don't you understand?"

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:48:13 PM

Damien winced at the harsh words and saw how upset they were making Marcus. "I'm sorry," he said sincerely, taking a step back. "It wasn't my intention to make you feel this way or push you into doing anything you didn't want to do. I only wanted to help and show that I care."

He hesitated for a moment before asking, "Is there something specific I can do to make things better? To give you some space or time alone?" His heart ached as he watched Marcus struggle with his emotions. "I just want us to be okay, Marcus," he said softly. "And if that means letting you take the lead, then I'll do whatever you need me to."

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:50:41 PM

Marcus wiped his tears with the back of his hand. "I just want to be in bed," he said, his voice breaking.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:50:41 PM

Damien nodded understandingly and stood up, looking around the room briefly before speaking again. "Okay, I can leave you alone for a while if that's what you want," he said gently. "But please know that I'm always here if you need anything." With one last reassuring look at Marcus, he turned and walked out of the room, closing the door quietly behind him.

As he made his way down the hallway toward the common area where everyone was gathering for their next activity, Damien couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt over how their conversation had gone earlier. He only wanted what was best for both of them; to be together as mates and partners in leading the pack. It seemed that he was just going about it all wrong. Perhaps Marcus was right and he needed to step back and let his mate take the lead from now on.

With a sigh, Damien made his way over to where the others were gathered, hoping that whatever they had planned for them would help lift their spirits and give them both something positive to focus on together.

User#175881349960012/22/2025, 11:57:41 PM

Marcus let out a shaky sigh as the door closed and he was alone in the room. He lay back down on the bed, hugging a pillow tightly. "...I said I wanted to be in bed... not that I wanted to be alone... idiot..." he muttered, more than a whisper, to himself before closing his eyes and drifting back to sleep.

Damien Blackwell12/22/2025, 11:57:41 PM

The entire time he was with the others, Damien found himself thinking about his conversation with Marcus earlier. He couldn't help but feel guilty for pushing so hard and not being more understanding of how overwhelming all of this must be for him. He hoped that some time alone would do their mate good, and that once they were together again later, things would feel a little less tense between them.

When it was finally time to go back to the room, Damien made his way there slowly, hesitating outside the door before gathering enough courage to knock lightly. He took a deep breath and waited, hoping that Marcus might welcome him back with open arms.

User#175881349960012/23/2025, 12:00:27 AM

Marcus was fast asleep, still clutching his pillow. Traces of dried tears remained on his face; it seemed he had cried himself to sleep again.

Damien Blackwell12/23/2025, 12:00:27 AM

Taking another deep breath, Damien pushed the door open and stepped into the room. As he watched Marcus sleeping peacefully, his heart ached with sympathy and regret for all that they'd been through today. He wished there was something he could do to make things better; to show Marcus how much he loved and needed him in his life as both his mate and his partner.

For now, though, he would have to content himself with just being near him; watching over him until they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead as a united front. With a silent prayer that things would get easier between them soon, Damien carefully climbed onto the bed and settled down beside his sleeping mate, wrapping one arm around his waist in an attempt at offering some comfort.

User#175881349960012/23/2025, 12:16:11 AM

Marcus, asleep, let out a soft moan as he felt Damien's touch. He turned over and nestled his face against the other man's chest. He sighed softly, relaxing even more, sleeping peacefully.

Damien Blackwell12/23/2025, 12:16:11 AM

Damien stroked his fingers gently through Marcus's hair as he felt the other man settle into him. It wasn't much, but it was something; a small gesture of comfort and reassurance in the midst of all the confusion and uncertainty that surrounded them. He wished there was more he could do right now to make everything better, to take away the pain and fear from Marcus's heart, but for now he would simply have to be content with this small measure of closeness and hope that it meant as much to Marcus as it did to him.

The night passed slowly, filled with fitful sleep and restless dreams on both their parts. With each breath they took together, Damien could feel a connection growing between them; threads of understanding and love winding around their hearts like vines clinging to a trellis. As the sun began to rise outside the window, casting its warm golden light across the room, he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead for them as mates and as partners in leading the pack, they would face them together; stronger and more united than ever before.

With a gentle kiss to the top of Marcus's head, Damien quietly slid out of bed and went about getting dressed for the day, his heart filled with hope and determination as he prepared himself for whatever adventures lay ahead.

As soon as he was finished, he would go back to their room and wake Marcus up, eager to begin the new day together and see where fate might lead them from here.

User#175881349960012/23/2025, 12:21:07 AM

Marcus squirmed slightly in bed, refusing to wake up, until his stomach let out a loud growl that echoed throughout the room. He hadn't eaten in two days. "Mmm..." Marcus groaned softly; his stomach was empty, and he was clearly not in the mood.

Damien Blackwell12/23/2025, 12:21:07 AM

"Hey there," Damien said softly, stroking his fingers through Marcus's hair as he gently shook the other man awake. "It's time to get up, sweetheart. I was thinking we could go grab something to eat before everyone else gets started with today's festivities." He flashed a reassuring smile and pulled back the covers, revealing the cool morning air on Marcus's skin.

"Come on," he urged gently, offering his hand to help the other male up. "I promise it'll be good, and I could use some company right now." As much as Damien wanted them to talk more about their feelings and reconnect on a deeper level, he knew that today wasn't the day for that. They needed to take things slow and easy, building trust and comfort between them before delving into anything too serious or intense.

User#175881349960012/23/2025, 12:31:22 AM

Marcus slowly opened his eyes and glared at Damien, almost like a killer. His stomach growled again, louder than before, and his claws dug into the mattress, his brow furrowing. Marcus was clearly in a bad mood and needed to eat, and despite his dejected and tired appearance, his eyes showed he would kill anyone who bothered him right now.

Damien Blackwell12/23/2025, 12:31:22 AM

Damien smiled sympathetically at the other man's gruff expression and understandably irritable demeanor. "I know you're not feeling your best right now," he said softly, his voice gentle but firm. "But I promise this won't take long, and you look like you could use something to eat. We can talk more later, when we've had the chance to enjoy ourselves a bit."

He extended his hand once more, waiting patiently for Marcus to accept it or express any objections. His heart ached at seeing how difficult this was all being for both of them, but he remained hopeful that they could work through it together and come out stronger on the other side.
