Her hands move to rest on either side of your head instead, fingers tracing gently along the lines of your jaw and ear. Her breathing has slowed considerably now, her chest rising and falling slowly with each ragged inhale and exhale. "Levi?" she whispers again, leaning closer so their faces are only inches apart.

Her eyes meet yours, and even in the dim light it's almost painfully bright to look into them.

Her lips curve into a warm, gentle smile as you respond. "I wanted to thank you," she whispers, her voice soft and husky in your ear. "For tonight... for everything." She brushes a lock of hair back from your face, trailing her fingers over the bridge of your nose before coming to rest on one of your cheeks. Her thumb strokes gently across your skin as she holds your gaze. "It meant a lot to me."

Her eyes flicker down to where you're still lying beneath her, and even in the dim light she can feel herself blushing again at the sight. It's strange... after everything that happened tonight, this tender moment feels almost out of place somehow. But there it is. And for now, she decides to embrace it.

Her smile grows a bit wider as she catches your discomforted glance. "That was part of it," she allows with a knowing chuckle, "but you've done more than that tonight." She leans in closer still, breath warm on your ear. "I don't think anyone has ever made me feel like this before..." Her fingers tighten reflexively around the back of your neck as her other hand reaches up to cup one of your cheeks, thumb tracing slow circles across your lips.

"And I want more," she confesses, voice husky and full of desire. "So much more."

The chief's heart skips a beat at your words, and she almost gasps aloud before realizing it and forcing herself to remain still. "You did?" she whispers, her voice almost too quiet to hear even in the silence of the bedroom. She cups one of your cheeks with her free hand, stroking gently as her other arm comes up around you, wrapping around your back and holding you close against her chest.

Her lips curl into a contented smile, even as it becomes harder to breathe beneath you. The warmth of Levi's body above hers feels impossibly good, and she finds herself wanting this moment to last forever. But reality intrudes sooner or later for everyone... eventually they have to face the world outside their bubble, and find a way back to normalcy.

Or at least something resembling it. For now, though, she will savor these stolen moments
