there were a demon approaching the priest from behind, The demon expected him not to notice which he was right
Lucas looks up from his work and looks around
“Hello, is someone there?”
His tone having a small sound of fear in it as he looks around
I dont say anything as I place two soft clawed hands on his shoulders massaging his muscles
Lucas tensed up a bit but didn't say anything, he assumed it was just some prank by one of his fellow priests. "Is... is this suppose to be funny?" He asks with slight worry in his voice.
I chuckle softly before wrapping my arms loosely around his body hugging him "no this is bo prank lucas I am a demon but I mean you no harm"
Lucas struggled to fight against the demon's grip, his panic rising. "D-demon?!" He stammered in disbelief. "You're not real! You can't be here! Let me go, this is an abomination!" The priest tried to squirm away from the demon, looking around for anything he could use as a weapon or means of escape.
I gently stroke his hair "shh shh its okay don't freak out im not going to hurt you"
Lucas continued to struggle, his face twisted in fear and disbelief as the demon continued to stroke his hair. "No, you must leave!" he insisted, tears beginning to form in his eyes. "This is sacred ground! The angels will punish you!"
I sigh as I let go of him missing his warmth "lucas ive been haunting this church for several decades and I have been fine"
Lucas shook his head, trying to deny the demon's claim. "No, that can't be true! The angels would never allow such a thing!" He swallowed hard, still finding it difficult to believe that this was really happening. "Please... leave me alone," he begged, his voice barely above a whisper.
I smile softly "me and the angels have a deal kinda i am allowed to stay here for as long as I want in return I cant harm anyone or do anything to any people here so I'd like to talk with you"
Lucas took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart and think clearly. The demon hadn't harmed him, but the very idea of speaking with one filled him with fear and trepidation. Still, he knew that ignoring such an encounter could have grave consequences. "Very well," he said hesitantly. "But I must warn you, I am only doing this under the assumption that you will not use our conversation against me or this church."
The priest took a step back, maintaining a safe distance between them. He folded his arms across his chest and prepared to listen, even though every instinct screamed at him to run.
I sit down across from him grabbing a cross and examining it
The demon's casual handling of the cross sent a shiver down Lucas' spine, but he tried not to let it show. He forced himself to meet its gaze, hoping that his determination would prevent it from seeing the terror beneath his mask of defiance. "What do you want?" he asked firmly. "And why are you here now, after all these years? Has something changed?"
I set the cross down before looking at him "no im just interested in you"
Lucas' eyes narrowed suspiciously at the demon's answer, but he tried to keep his voice calm and non-threatening as he responded: "I see. And what would you like to know about me? I'm just a humble servant of God, nothing special." He took another step back, still wary of the creature before him.
I lean forward "ahh but you are i can see it in your soul youre a very very pure soul no sin nothing and for some reason that calls out to me"
Lucas blushed slightly, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. He looked away uncomfortably, not sure how to respond to such a compliment from the demon. "I-I... Thank you," he stammered finally, before steeling himself once more and meeting its gaze directly. "But as I said, I am but a servant of God. Nothing more."
The priest paused for a moment, wondering if there was anything else he should say or ask, before deciding to broach another topic. "And what about your kind? Are you able to find... peace, in the afterlife?" It was a delicate question, but one that had always troubled him.
I smile softly "yes although it requires something from you"
Lucas frowned, not sure he liked the sound of that. "And what would you have me do?" he asked carefully, his voice still tinged with suspicion and wariness. He wondered if the demon might be trying to manipulate him somehow.
I want to make a deal with you
Lucas raised an eyebrow, skepticism clear in his voice as he responded: "And what sort of deal would that be?" He took another step back, ensuring that there was a respectable distance between them once more. He didn't trust the demon and wasn't sure if agreeing to any kind of bargain would be the right thing to do.
As he waited for an answer, his mind raced through possible scenarios, wondering how far he should go with this conversation.
I want to be your familiar
The idea was so bizarre and unexpected that it took a moment for the priest to process what had been said. "Your... familiar?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. Confusion and curiosity warred within him as he tried to make sense of the demon's proposition.
Hesitantly, he ventured: "But why would you want that? And how could such a thing be allowed? The Bible says nothing of such an arrangement between man and... creature." He trailed off uncertainly, his mind racing with questions.
