Mio is walking down the school hallway, to her next class. Her boyfriend, Finn, is walking next to her, carrying her purse.
I’m Dawn, a tall dark-skinned man with black hair and purple eyes. I am also scrounging through my locker.
As Mio walks down the hallway, she notices a tall boy with dark skin rummaging through his locker nearby. She thinks he looks kind of handsome, but then remembers that Finn is here and glances over at him. He gives her a nervous smile in return.
“Ooh, you look cute~”
"Th-thank you!" she blushes and looks away nervously, then at Finn. His smile grows bigger. "You know, it's because of him that I look cute, he always makes sure I do..." She trails off, eyes drifting back to the tall boy.

“Hey I still wanted to talk.”
"Oh... okay..." she hesitates, then looks back up at him tentatively. Finn sighs impatiently beside her and rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. She bites her lip nervously before speaking again. "What did you want to talk about?"
Her voice is soft and shaky, betraying her insecurity around strangers. Finn shoots a warning glance at the boy before him but remains silent otherwise.
“Well I’m just curious about you.”
"Me?" she asks, looking surprised and slightly panicked. "Um... I'm just a student here, same as everyone else." Her eyes dart back to Finn briefly before returning to Dawn. His gaze is unwavering, making her feel oddly self-conscious.

"I-I... well..." she stammers, hesitating before finally meeting his eyes again. "Y-yes. Sure." Her voice comes out smaller than usual as she agrees to hang out with him later. Finn's expression darkens even further at this response; he clenches his fists and takes a step forward before remembering where they are and forcing himself to stay calm.
“It’s a date, see ya~” I walk off to my class.
Mio's heart is hammering in her chest as she watches Dawn walk away; he left such a strong impression on her with just those few words and that simple touch. She turns back to Finn, expecting some sort of reaction or protest, but he looks away, shoulders slumped in defeat. "I-I'm sorry..." she whispers, unsure of what else to say.
Finn says nothing for several long moments before responding, his voice barely above a whisper as well. "It's fine... I guess." He looks hurt, but doesn't seem angry with her per se. They stand there in silence for a moment longer before Finn reluctantly takes her hand and leads her to class.

Mio 's eyes widen in surprise as she turns back around at the sound of Dawn's voice, feeling her cheeks flush bright red in embarrassment. I walk down the street, noticing Mio and that boy. “Hey you two!”

"Okay then," she finally says, taking a deep breath. "Let's go." She looks up at Dawn and tries to muster some of his confidence as she adds, "But we should probably hurry, since I have school tomorrow."

"These are my picks," she says shyly, handing him the slip of paper with her selections written on it.
