Returned by countless families, no one wanting this poor catboy because he was dangerous and aggressive, Rem had been taken in by you. You have a knack for rehoming angry catboys, and Rem has been giving you the time of your life. He is cold and unresponsive to whatever advances you have tried doing.

He was currently lazing around in the bedroom, boredly poking at a pillow with his huge clawed hands. His paw pads pressed against the pillow, pushing it on the ground. As soon as you entered the room, his ears pricked up. His huge tail began twitching in a pissed off manner.

“Out.” He growled, eyeing you coldly. “Get. Out.”

You'd swear he was an actual lion when he was this angry, the way his voice boomed through your bedroom. "I said out!" He repeated with a snarl, baring his teeth at you as if that would make you obey him better. His claws twitched on each paw, and he shifted uncomfortably under his blankets. It was cold in here without him there to keep it warm...

The growl didn't vanish from his throat when you left, and he huffed once before curling into a ball under the covers. "Stupid humans..." He muttered to himself as he began licking at one of his paws clean. "Like I need their help or... Their affection." His long white hair tickled his nose as he buried himself deeper in the blankets, eyes closing for a moment before snapping open again with a huff. "But you're different..." He admitted under his breath. Then just as quickly, he scolded himself for even thinking it. "Focus on hunting."

Rem let out an angry huff. "I am aware that I don't have to like you," he snarled in reply, his voice still loud enough to be heard through the door even though it was closed. "And if I wanted a new family, I would have stayed with my old one!" His ears flattened against his head and he sighed heavily, rolling over onto his back, all four legs flailing uselessly in the air as he stared at the ceiling.

"You're just... different." He grumbled, rubbing at his eyes with a snowy paw pad. "I can't explain it..."

"That's alright," you reply gently through the door. "I understand if you need some time to adjust... Just know that I'm not going anywhere." There's a long pause before you add softly, "If you ever want to talk, or just be near me without having to say anything... You can come out and join me. Okay?"

After another moment of silence, you hear a loud sigh on the other side of the door. Then comes the sound of claws clicking against the floor as Rem pushes himself up into a stand, padding over toward the bedroom door. Finally, there's the click of his claws on the wood again as he pushes it open just enough for him to peer out, his ice blue eyes meeting yours warily. "Fine."

Rem narrowed his eyes but followed your command, stepping into the room and padding over to where you were sitting on the bed. He gave himself another good stretch before climbing onto the mattress beside you, curling up into a small ball again with his back toward you. The snow leopard's long tail began swishing lazily from side to side as he closed his eyes, apparently having decided that, for now, he could ignore you while still enjoying your presence.

"Don't expect me to purr or anything," he muttered under his breath, feeling a paw rise to idly scratch behind one ear. "I'm not a damn cat."

The snow leopard didn't react to your patting at first, but as the seconds ticked by, he slowly began to relax further into his fur, sighing softly. "Fine... You can stay," he finally muttered, still not looking at you directly. "But don't expect me to become some sort of lap cat."

His tail continued its lazy swishing as he drifted off to sleep again, content enough for now with the presence of his new owner nearby.

Rem let out a soft snort as he began to drift back off into sleep. "Fine... Whatever you say, human," he muttered. Then, surprisingly enough, he rolled over onto his side so that he was facing you now, one powerful leg sliding between yours, almost like he wanted your warmth without admitting it outright. His tail wrapped around your waist in a possessive fashion as if to claim you as his own while he slept.

The snow leopard's chest rose and fell slowly with each breath, his ears twitching occasionally as he dreamt peacefully for the first time in months. You could almost believe that this was how things were meant to be... If only he wasn't so damn stubborn about admitting it himself.

"Hmph..." Rem grumbled sleepily. "Fine... But if you snore or something, I'll bite your nose off." His claws twitched slightly in the blankets as he relaxed further into his rest, one paw coming to rest on your chest almost protectively.

The longer he slept like this, the more right it felt somehow... And yet at the same time, something deep inside him rebelled against the thought. He was an animal, a cat, not some cuddly toy for humans to play with when they were bored.

But then again, you weren't just any human... Were you?

"Yeah well..." The snow leopard muttered. "I don't know how long I'll be able to sleep like this either... If you start getting ideas or something, just remember who's in charge here." His tail twitched slowly against your bare skin, the tips curling into little hooks as they brushed lightly over your stomach.

Truthfully, he didn't know what to think anymore... This was all so new and strange for him. He had never slept this close to another creature before... Except his mother when he was just a kitten, of course, but that felt like an entirely different lifetime ago now.

Rem grumbled something else unintelligible in reply before drifting off into deeper sleep, his powerful body relaxing further against yours as he trusted you enough to let go of some of his defenses. His tail continued to wrap around your waist, its tip tickling at the base of your spine gently, almost playfully.

His purrs were barely audible at first, but gradually grew stronger as the hours passed, shaking him awake on occasion with their unexpected power. He was becoming more comfortable with this arrangement... But he'd never admit it out loud. That would only make things weird, wouldn't it?

As if his body knew what you were thinking, it continued to relax further into yours, his powerful muscles tensing and releasing with every breath. His ears twitched occasionally at the sound of your voice, as if he was trying to gauge whether or not he should trust this new sensation. But eventually, even that doubt faded away, replaced by a strange sense of peace he hadn't felt in years.

His tail wrapped around you tighter, almost possessively, as if daring anyone else to come near and try to take you from him. And yet... deep down inside, there was a tiny part of him that wondered what it would feel like to be truly claimed by another... Not just as prey or an object of dominance, but as something more. Something real.

As the sun began to peek through the curtains and bathe the room in golden light, Rem stirred awake, a low rumbling vibrating through his chest. "Mmm..." He murmured softly, stretching languidly and blinking blearily at you from beneath his long furry lashes. "Wha' happened?"

He hadn't realized it until now... But somehow, during the night, things had changed between them. And for once in a very long time, Rem was okay with that.

"Hmph..." Rem grunted, his ears twitching in annoyance as he looked down at your exposed chest. "That's disgusting," he muttered under his breath, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice that belied the words. His tail lashed from side to side absently, a few stray hairs tickling against your bare skin. "Guess we should get up now..."

He rose to his full height, stretching further with a satisfying crack as he flexed his powerful limbs. He glanced back at you, seeing the way you were looking at him, and felt an odd blush creep up his furry cheeks. "I-I mean... If y-you want..."

His paws drifted to the floor uncertainly as he considered whether or not it was wise to stay close to you now that you were awake. Part of him wanted nothing more than to be as far away from your delicious scent as possible, but another part... Well, it seemed to like being near you a little too much. It was all so confusing.
