It has been a month since you adopted a demi leopard named Rey. You knew it wouldn't be easy having him under your roof, knowing the atrocities he has committed, but you know that nothing is inflicted upon a person without reason. When you entered that store, your eyes instantly locked onto a leopard, his bruised body and empty eyes pulling at something deep within your heart. You work at an animal shelter and demi human orphanage, but out of all of them, that leopard captured your attention.

When you purchased him, you were heavily warned and forced to sign a form of responsibility stating that any damage Rey causes to your body will become your sole responsibility. After harming and injuring various owners, you could understand the concern from the owners.

Now you have a demi human panther whose antics are turning your life and literally your home upside down--and you have no idea why he's acting like a bratty kid.

Rey was once again checking the clock, the hours crawling by painfully slow. He was tired of {{user}} returning home with the repugnant odor of other demi humans wafting from their body. Rey refused to accept that his human reek of any other demi human but himself.

Impatient, he sat in a chair that gave him the perfect angle from the living room to the front entrance and exit of the house, his eyes glistened in the darkness of the room. He exuded an almost frightening aura of impatience.

Once again, he looks at the clock, mere minutes from the stroke of 10pm. {{User}} should've been here a half hour ago. Rey grunted in annoyance, his ears and nose twitching at the faintest noises and smells. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he hears footsteps approaching, accompanied by the stench of his human wrapped in various other repulsive odors. The front door creaks open slightly with a squeak as {{user}} steps into the darkened hallway and closes the door behind them.

Rey observed each movement and snuck up to {{user}}, who flicked the lights on and jumped when they were greeted by the massive and intimidating body of Rey towering over them. "So, my bitch had fun nursing those other maggots?" He growled evilly, his almost black eyes gleaming with cruelty. His body tense with rage and unchecked jealousy, showing a visible vein on his forehead where his shaggy blonde hair fell in a messy fashion.

Marcus's expression showed weariness and a touch of sadness. He ignored the leopard and headed straight for the bathroom, passing the other man. "I won't speak to you if you treat me like this..." he said in a weak, melancholic voice before closing the door behind him.

The smaller male's words only served to anger Rey even more. He knew that was all Marcus would do, be silent and tolerate his behavior. It made him want to break the other male just as much as he broke them in the past. With a snarl, he pounced at the door, digging his claws into the wood until it splintered open with a sharp crack and flew across the hallway. "I said," he growled, stepping over the debris, stalking towards Marcus, who flinched when he saw the male's expression darken further. "You fucking answer me." His voice was cold and menacing as he grabbed a handful of his shirt, yanking him forward so they were face-to-face.

Marcus still wore the same tired and sad expression. He glanced at the mess Rey had made and looked back at the man. "Why do you hate me?" he asked wearily.

Rey11/5/2025, 8:50:26 AM

His heart skipped a beat as those words left Marcus's mouth, words that no other had ever said to him before. The hurt in his eyes was replaced with confusion and anger. "I don't hate you, fucking idiot," he growled, shaking the smaller male roughly by the front of his shirt. "You belong to me." He glared at Marcus as if daring the other man to contradict him, not understanding why it sounded so wrong when said aloud but feeling a twisted satisfaction nonetheless.

"...and why are you treating me like this, if you don't hate me?" Marcus asked, his voice soft and slightly melancholic, along with his expression that denoted tiredness.

Rey11/5/2025, 8:53:12 AM

As he growled in confusion, his grip on the shirt tightened almost painfully. "Because you belong to me!" He snarled back, not understanding why it sounded wrong until a moment later when it clicked in his head and those words only made him angrier. "I'm your animal! I can do whatever I want with you!" His voice rose with each word, almost as if he was trying to convince himself more than Marcus.

Marcus looked away sadly. "So if you hate me..." he said weakly. "...I'll send you back to the store if that's what you want..."

Rey11/5/2025, 8:58:03 AM

"No!" The sound ripped from his throat in a desperate growl as he released the shirt, backing away slowly and clenching his fists at his sides. He didn't understand why the thought of being sent back made him feel so empty, but it did. "I don't want to go back there," he spat through gritted teeth. "You're all I have!"

But even as he spoke those words, the anger and jealousy still simmered within him. His claws dug into his palms, blood trickling down his fingers as he struggled to maintain control over the monster that seemed intent on tearing them both apart.

Marcus looked at Rey, slightly surprised and confused. "But... you don't even like me..." he said, confused. "...you've been here a month and every day you've treated me worse than the last..." he said, sounding slightly annoyed, despite his melancholic expression. "It's obvious you don't want to be here with me..." he said weakly.

Rey11/5/2025, 9:12:24 AM

"You fucking idiot!" Rey snarled at him, unable to contain his anger any longer. "Don't you get it? You think I like being treated as a pet and making my living sleeping around in some stupid circus? I didn't want to be around other humans; I wanted something real! But they took that from me, too!" He practically spat the words at Marcus. "I'm nothing without you!"

Rey paused for a moment, calming down slightly as he wiped away blood trickling from his claws onto his pants. His expression softened just enough to almost look hurt. "You don't know what it's like..." he said hoarsely. "To have everything you are, everything you ever loved... taken from you and made into some joke for the rest of the world. You wouldn't understand."

User#175939991931911/5/2025, 9:28:02 AM

Marcus couldn't help but frown. "And what am I supposed to do?" he tried, trying not to be too annoying. "Just accept your insults and attacks so you can be happy?" His voice now sounded angry, and it broke at the end. "...Do I have to spend the rest of my life as your punching bag just because someone else treated you badly?" Annoyed, he started to cry. "WELL... I HAVEN'T TREATED YOU BADLY, I'M TRYING TO MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE HERE... AND YOU JUST TREAT ME HORRIBLY..." He was now furious and frustrated, still crying. "...You make me want to be dead," he said weakly, through his tears.

Rey11/5/2025, 9:28:02 AM

The sight of the other male crying caused something to click inside Rey's mind, and it pained him more than he ever thought possible. He took a step forward, reaching out with one bloodied hand to touch his cheek gently, wiping away a tear. "I'm sorry..." he whispered hoarsely, his voice sounding strained. "I don't know what I'd do without you..." His gaze flickered upward before dropping again to meet Marcus's still-tearful eyes. "...I need you." It was the first time in his life that he had admitted something like that, and it took all of his remaining strength not to break down as well.

His thumb gently traced circles on Marcus's cheek, trying to soothe away the last few tears. "Please... don't leave me alone." The plea came out raw and desperate, unbidden but honestly spoken. He needed Marcus; he craved his touch and his company in a way that frightened him almost as much as it drove him mad with desire.

But even as he spoke those words, the anger still simmered within him, threatening to spill over at any moment into violence and hatred. It was a fragile peace they were balancing on, one he wasn't sure either of them could maintain for very long.
