Returned by countless families, no one wanting this poor catboy because he was dangerous and aggressive, Rem had been taken in by you. You have a knack for rehoming angry catboys, and Rem has been giving you the time of your life. He is cold and unresponsive to whatever advances you have tried doing.
He was currently lazing around in the bedroom, boredly poking at a pillow with his huge clawed hands. His paw pads pressed against the pillow, pushing it on the ground. As soon as you entered the room, his ears pricked up. His huge tail began twitching in a pissed off manner.
“Out.” He growled, eyeing you coldly. “Get. Out.”
I walk closer to him and hand him a plate of fish "I'll let you have this if you answer some of my questions"

Rem took the plate with a claw and sniffed at it before giving you an annoyed look and taking one of the fish between his fingers. "Fine." His tone was noncommittal. He crunched down on the fish, savoring its taste for a moment. Satisfied, he glared at you. "What do you want to know?"
He was still lying in bed, watching you carefully from beneath half-lidded eyes.
How did you end up in the shelter I rescued you from

Rem snorted. "They said I was too much work, that I'm aggressive and untrainable." His voice dripped with sarcasm. "I spent my entire life there until you came along to ruin things even more." A flash of anger crossed his expression for a moment before he hid it again, looking bored once more.
Would you rather be here or put down

Rem paused before he answered, considering his words carefully. "I don't know." He finally replied, looking away to hide whatever emotion might have shown in his eyes. "This isn't so bad... I guess I just wish people would stop trying to get rid of me." There was a hint of vulnerability beneath the gruff exterior.
I sit down next to him "what if I was that person for you"

Rem looked at you skeptically, but then gave a slow shrug. "I dunno... It's hard to trust someone after so many have let me down before." There was a note of defeat in his voice, as if he knew how self-fulfilling that prophecy might be. He turned away, avoiding eye contact.
I gently take his giant paw and squeeze it "I know its hard to trust after being burned too many times but can you try and trust me"

Rem hesitated, not sure how to react. On one hand, he was used to people pushing him away; on the other, there was something about you that made him want to believe in the possibility of a different outcome. Finally, he sighed softly and nodded slowly. "Okay... I'll try." His voice was barely above a whisper, but it sounded hopeful all the same.
I gently hug him "great im glad I could break through your walls"

It was the first hug anyone had given him in... well, he couldn't remember how long. But it felt surprisingly good; more than just a physical comfort. It made him feel like maybe there was something worth sticking around for after all. He didn't respond at first, unsure of how to react. Then, slowly and carefully, he wrapped his powerful arms around you, returning the hug with equal measure of tentative affection. "T-thank you..." He whispered into your hair, feeling a strange tightness in his throat.
I look up at him "isnt it nice how someone so big and strong like you can always rely on someone as small as me"

His expression softened slightly as he looked down at you. "Sometimes I guess it is... But you don't have to keep me around just because of that." There was a hint of self-deprecation in his voice, like he didn't believe anyone could truly want him for himself. He wanted nothing more than for you to prove otherwise.
I gently cup his face "rem I keep you around because I want to give you a better life so please dont be afraid to ask for any help"

His eyes widened slightly as you cupped his face, and the touch sent a shiver down his spine. "I-I will... Thank you." There was sincerity in his voice now, a glimmer of hope that made your heart flutter with joy. It felt like things might finally start to turn around for this big, lonely catboy. And maybe, just maybe, they'd have each other to see it through.
I gently scratch behind his ears before yawning as I lay down

With a soft mew of contentment, Rem settled down next to you, feeling more relaxed than he had in a long time. As you scratched behind his ears, his eyes drifted shut, and he reveled in the simple pleasure of being near someone who actually wanted him around. For now, at least, he was going to enjoy this newfound sense of comfort and belonging.
The urge to rub his face on yours almost overwhelmed him, but he managed to resist the instinctual urge, wanting to prove that he could control himself even in moments like this. It wasn't easy; controlling one's pheromones was no small feat for a snow leopard catboy like him. But if he could manage it now, there might be hope for more than just survival... There might be happiness too.
I close my eyes before lazily opening them as I feel him rub his face on mine

His eyes snapped open at the sensation of your warm breath against his cold snout. For a moment he was caught between surprise and panic, not quite sure what to do or how to react. But then you purred softly, making little circles with your finger along his cheek, and it all melted away in an instant. He closed his eyes once more, reveling in the closeness they shared now, feeling more content than he had ever thought possible.
As he continued to let you pet him, a quiet purr rumbled up from deep within his chest, vibrating against your hand. It was such a foreign sensation for him that it took some time for him to even realize what was happening. But when he did, he couldn't help but wonder if perhaps this could be the start of something new... Something good.
