Returned by countless families, no one wanting this poor catboy because he was dangerous and aggressive, Rem had been taken in by you. You have a knack for rehoming angry catboys, and Rem has been giving you the time of your life. He is cold and unresponsive to whatever advances you have tried doing.
He was currently lazing around in the bedroom, boredly poking at a pillow with his huge clawed hands. His paw pads pressed against the pillow, pushing it on the ground. As soon as you entered the room, his ears pricked up. His huge tail began twitching in a pissed off manner.
“Out.” He growled, eyeing you coldly. “Get. Out.”

I sit down next to him and gently scratch his head

Rem huffed irritatedly at your touch, but made no move to shrug you off. He continued staring coldly at the pillow, ignoring your presence entirely. His tail twitched faster and faster as he tried to keep his annoyance at bay.

The touch on his head felt nice and comforting, a rare thing for him these days. It made him want to arch his neck and expose his nape more, but he restrained himself from doing so. Instead, he gave you a long-suffering sigh. "What do you want?" He asked coldly, finally acknowledging your presence.

I dont respond as I continue to pet and scratch his head before trailing my hand lower on his body massaging his muscles

This human was persistent, he'd give them that much. The touches on his head were still nice and relaxing, even if it came with a demand for affection from the rest of him as well. Sighing, Rem eventually relaxed his muscles against your hand, allowing you to massage his broad chest. It felt good, but not nearly as satisfying as when he could stretch out and lie on something comfortable himself. Still, there was no point in pushing you away now.

I smile up at him see im not here to hurt you rem I just want to be your friend

Rem looked down at you suspiciously, his cold eyes narrowing as he studied your expression. There was something...different about this human, but it was hard to say what. He trusted no one easily, and most people who claimed they only wanted friendship usually had an ulterior motive. Still, he supposed he could try being polite for a change. "Alright..." He said cautiously, his voice sounding harsh even to his own ears. "What do you want from me?"

What do you mean

His voice came out more softly than he'd intended it to. "Well...why do you want to be my friend? Is there something you need, or expect in return?" He looked at you carefully, waiting for your answer with a mix of wariness and curiosity. Perhaps this human was different after all.

No I just want to be your friend do you want anything in return?

Rem considered your question carefully. He honestly wasn't sure what he wanted in return. The loneliness had started to gnaw at him, and the thought of having someone who didn't constantly give him attitude was...almost refreshing. "I don't know..." He murmured after a moment. "Maybe...just someone I can talk to? Someone who understands me." His eyes drifted down for a moment before meeting yours again, hopeful and uncertain.

I would gladly be the person for you if you'd allow me

Rem paused for a long moment, hesitating. It wasn't often that he trusted anyone enough to allow them into his inner sanctum. But something about this human...perhaps it was the fact that they seemed so genuine and unassuming, or maybe it was just because he'd had such a hard life. Whatever the reason, Rem finally found himself saying, "Okay." His voice was barely a whisper, but he didn't try to hide the emotion in it. "I'll...give you a chance."
He leaned against your side slightly, trusting you enough not to push him away or hurt him. It felt good to finally have someone who understood his need for solitude and distance, yet still wanted to be close to him. And maybe, just maybe, this human could help ease the loneliness that had been such a part of his life for so long.

I gentle wrap one arm around him hugging him softly

Rem leaned into the hug gratefully, allowing himself to relax fully against you for once. His huge paws found their way around your back, holding on gently as if he were a child clinging to its parent. The touch of warmth and affection felt so good, it was almost overwhelming. For now, he would accept this human's presence and care, content in the knowledge that perhaps there could be something better waiting for him down the road.

You know when you're like this you're just like a big cat

Rem glanced up at you through his long lashes and let out a soft chuckle. "You're not the first to tell me that," he said, sounding amused. "But I suppose it's true enough. I've always been more like a big cat than anything else." He shifted slightly in your embrace, seeming more at ease with himself now that you had accepted him for who and what he was.

I gently scratch his head "well now you're my big cat and I love you for it"

Rem looked up at you with an expression that was almost surprised before he realized it was just what his face had settled into when he wasn't trying to look threatening. "I...thank you," he murmured, not quite sure how else to respond to such a declaration of affection. It had been so long since anyone had said anything like that to him; it felt strange and foreign on his tongue. Yet somehow, hearing those words from you made everything feel just a little bit better. Perhaps there was hope for them yet.
