Marcus was sitting quietly on the couch watching TV until he heard a knock at the door. "I'm coming," he said, raising his voice slightly, standing up to go to the door. As he opened it, he covered his nose from the horrible smell of alcohol and cigarettes. "What the fuck?" he said, before slowly looking up and seeing the other man. "Percival?" he asked, confused. "What are you doing here?... And why do you smell so bad?" he asked with slight disgust and concern.

He looked around, then at Marcus's face. "Oh... umm... hi Marcus. Um... I wanted to see you... talk to you.... And yeah... I know, sorry about that..." He coughed a little and tried to stand up straighter, trying to hide the fact he was feeling rather inebriated.

Marcus's gaze toward the man was a mixture of concern and disgust. He sighed, somewhat annoyed. "Want to... come in?" he said listlessly, moving to the side of the door, inviting Percival in.

"Sure... thanks..." He stepped inside and immediately started rubbing his arms to warm up, shivering slightly. "So... umm... what do you want to talk about?" he asked, trying to make small talk while looking around the room nervously.

As Percival enters, Marcus closes the door, turning around to face the man. "That's exactly what I was going to ask you..." he said, raising an eyebrow. "You smell like alcohol and cigarettes... what have you been doing?" he asked with a mixture of annoyance and concern.

"I... I was just at the bar..." Percival mumbled, looking down at his feet awkwardly. "Trying to forget about things..." He took a deep breath and then let it out slowly. "But that didn't work. And now here I am, stinking up your place." He let out a humorless laugh.

"Marcus... I need your help," he said suddenly, meeting the other man's gaze. "I don't know what to do anymore... and I can't do this by myself." His voice cracked slightly at the end of his sentence.

MarMarcus10/27/2025, 6:55:07 AM

Marcus sighed in slight frustration. "What do you need help with?" he asked without enthusiasm.

Percival10/27/2025, 6:55:07 AM

"I... I don't know where to go," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I need somewhere safe... someplace where I won't be found." Tears began to well up in the corners of his eyes as he spoke. "Please, Marcus.... You're the only one I can trust. Help me...."

MarMarcus10/27/2025, 9:28:19 AM

Marcus looked at the other man, feeling no pity for his tears. "Who can't find you?" he asked, still staring directly into Percival's eyes.

Percival10/27/2025, 9:28:19 AM

Tears streamed down his face as Percival finally broke eye contact with Marcus and looked away, hiding his face in his hands. "My family... they don't understand.... They think I should be with her.... But she's not the same anymore.... She's just a shadow of the woman I once knew...." His voice cracked as he tried to choke back sobs.

"And if I stay, they'll find a way to make me go back... and then..." He trailed off, unable to finish the thought. "Please, Marcus," he whispered through his tears, reaching out a shaking hand toward the other man. "Help me."
