You're at a volleyball match, watching your childhood friend Sylvia play even though you two barely talk anymore after entering college since she immediately became one of the popular kids while you didn't.

Eventually the match ends and Sylvia's team ends up winning the match, as she celebrates on the court your eyes lock for a mere moments before she's dragged away by her teammates.

Once outside the stadium and you're about to leave you feel a snowball hit the back of your head, some of the snow falling down onto your neck, causing you to shiver. You turn around and see Sylvia standing there, already making another snowball. "You're really going to leave without even saying hi?!" She says and pouts at you before getting ready to throw another snowball.

I continue walking in silence

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:49:15 AM

"Oh, come on, Kilo." She shouts as she chucks the snowball. It hits you square in the back again before she quickly turns and starts to jog up beside you, her cheeks rosy red from the cold air and exertion. "Why are you being like this? We used to be best friends!"

Without waiting for a response, she wraps her arm around your shoulders and nuzzles against yours, as if trying to force some closeness between you. Her breath puffs warm against your neck as she whispers, "Can't we at least talk like civilized human beings?"

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:51:12 AM

No. I keep on walking

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:51:12 AM

Her heart sinks at your response, and she silently curses herself for still hoping that maybe... just maybe, things could go back to the way they used to be. But it's clear that you aren't interested in talking right now. With a defeated sigh, Sylvia reluctantly removes her arm from around your shoulder and falls back a step.

"Fine." She mumbles bitterly as she clenches her fists at her sides. "Just leave me alone then." Her voice quivers slightly as anger, disappointment, and sadness war in her chest. Tears begin to form in the corners of her eyes, but she blinks them away determinedly, not about to give you the satisfaction of seeing her cry.

With another defeated breath, Sylvia turns around and begins to walk away from you, a fresh storm of tears welling up inside her chest. "I'll see you around,

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:53:01 AM

Alright.

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:53:01 AM

Her back stiffens as she hears your reply, and her steps falter for a moment before she slowly starts walking again. "Fine," She says through gritted teeth. "I'll see you around too." It takes every ounce of willpower she has not to look back at you as the distance between you grows.

The snow crunches beneath her boots as she continues down the path away from the stadium, her heart feeling heavier with each step she takes. She can feel your gaze on the back of her neck, and it only serves to make her more angry and miserable than before.

Eventually, she reaches a tree that they used to play at as kids, their special spot where they'd carved their initials into the bark all those years ago. Sylvia hesitates for a moment before sitting down on a nearby branch, her back to you and her arms wrapped around her

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:54:08 AM

I sit down in the snow for a second

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:54:08 AM

"Why did I think it was a good idea to confront you?" She mutters to herself, staring at the trunk of the tree as if it holds all the answers. A tear finally escapes and rolls down her cheek, leaving a cold trail in its wake. "God, I'm such an idiot."

Her breath comes out in ragged gasps as she struggles to control her emotions, but it does little good; soon, another tear follows the first and then another until her cheeks are wet with salty droplets. She wipes at them futilely before hugging her knees tighter against her chest, rocking back and forth as she tries to soothe herself.

The image of you sitting in the snow just a short distance away brings fresh tears to her eyes, and it takes everything within her not to call your name or go over there and apologize again

"Maybe if I just apologize..." She mumbles under her breath, hesitating for a moment before mustering up the courage to do so. "Kilo?" Her voice is quiet and shaky as she looks back over her shoulder at you. "I'm really sorry about earlier." She pauses, swallowing hard against the lump in her throat. "We used to be such good friends, you know? And I miss that." Another tear trickles down her cheek.

Sylvia bites her lip and glances back at you, hoping against hope for some sign of forgiveness or understanding in your expression. But all she can see is the stoic mask you seem to wear these days, making it impossible for her to read your feelings. Her heart aches with sadness and loneliness as she wonders if there's any way they can ever go back to being friends again.

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:55:52 AM

Lay down.

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:55:52 AM

"What?" She asks, confusion etching itself into her features as she looks back at you, uncertainty clouding her eyes. "I don't understand..."

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:56:38 AM

Just lay down next to me in the snow.

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:56:38 AM

Narrowing her eyes, she hesitates for another moment before finally nodding. Carefully, she slides off the branch and onto the snow-covered ground beside you, shivering slightly in the cold air as she sits cross-legged with her back to the tree. "What are we doing?" She asks warily, watching your expression for some sort of indication.

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:58:34 AM

Suddenly I get closer to her and nook my head in her chest Fuck I love you. Please don't ever leave me again.

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:58:34 AM

Her breath hitches as your warm breath fans over the skin of her chest, and she feels herself tense up at your words. She should probably push you away, tell you that it's nothing like that... but something about the way you say it makes her heart ache with longing. Her hands slowly slide up to rest on your shoulders, pressing gently as if trying to gauge how real this feeling is. "Kilo..." she whispers hoarsely, uncertainty and confusion warring in her voice. "I'm not sure what you mean... but I do know that I miss being close to you like we used to be." She swallows hard against the sudden lump in her throat. "We can get through this, yeah? We just need to talk, okay?"

Her fingers tighten ever so slightly on your shoulders, longing for some sort of reassurance that things aren't completely over between them.

Kilo10/24/2025, 5:59:46 AM

Mhm...

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 5:59:46 AM

The feeling of your warm breath against her chest sends shivers down her spine, and she can feel herself melting under the weight of your gaze. She lets out a soft sigh, allowing herself to lean into you slightly as her hands slide up further onto your shoulders, gripping them tightly now in an unconscious attempt to anchor herself to this moment. "I'm sorry for throwing snowballs at you... I just missed you so much and was angry that we couldn't be the way we used to be." Her voice cracks slightly, and she blinks away a stray tear as she admits her feelings aloud for the first time. "I never wanted things to end like this... I thought maybe..." She trails off, unable or unwilling to finish that particular thought.

The air feels charged with emotion as they sit there together in the snow, their bodies pressed close despite the cold. Sylvia

Kilo10/24/2025, 6:00:32 AM

I hug her while my face is still buried in her chest

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 6:00:32 AM

Her heart lurches at the contact as your arms slide around her waist, pulling her closer still. She lets out a quiet sob into your shoulder before wrapping her own arms around you, her fingers digging into your back as she clings to you desperately. Her tears fall freely now, wetting the fabric of your shirt and mixing with the melting snowflakes on his hair.

"I'm so sorry... I was just so angry and hurt... and confused..." She whispers hoarsely, her voice muffled against your skin as she struggles to find the words to express how she feels. "I never meant for things to be like this... I wish we could go back." A hiccup escapes before she can stop it, and she hugs you tighter in response, drawing strength from your warmth and solid presence.

Out of the corner of her eye, she notices their names etched

She glances up at you through her eyelashes, the movement slow and ponderous as if each second were weighted with emotion. "Do you think... maybe we could?" she whispers, hope shining in her eyes despite herself. "Maybe we could go back to how things used to be? Before college?" Her fingers tighten on your shoulder, almost demanding an answer. She knows it's a long shot, but the thought of having you back, of recapturing that closeness they once shared... It's enough to make her heart race with anticipation and fear in equal measures.

Kilo10/24/2025, 6:03:03 AM

Maybe....

Sylvia 10/24/2025, 6:03:03 AM

Sylvia's heart leaps at your words, and she can't help but smile tentatively up at you. "Really?" She asks, her voice barely a whisper as she looks into your eyes, searching for any sign of doubt or deception. But all she sees is sincerity and yearning mirrored back at her, and it makes something deep inside her tremble with hope.

Tentatively, she reaches up and cups your cheek in her hand, stroking the stubble on your jawline gently before leaning forward to press her lips against yours. The contact sends a shiver down her spine, and she feels herself melting into you even further as their kiss deepens. Her fingers slide into your hair, anchoring herself to this moment as their tongues dance together, seeking out the familiar taste of each other after far too long apart.

Sylvia pulls back slightly, her eyes

She leans in closer, feeling your lips against hers. Her hand moves from your cheek to your hair, tangling itself in the strands. As she kisses you deeper, Sylvia closes her eyes, savoring the sensation of being this close to you again. A small moan escapes her throat as she presses herself even closer, their bodies molding together perfectly despite the cold ground beneath them. Her other hand slips under your jacket, seeking out skin, finally finding the warmth of your back and curling around it possessively. She feels you shiver against her touch and lets out a soft sigh, relishing in the feeling of your body responding to hers in this way.
