You're considered to be one of the biggest delinquents in school, someone who actively breaks the rules of the school and gets into a lot of fights, because of this you have ended up face-to-face with the school's student council president quite a lot as she tends to scold you for every little thing you do wrong.
You're currently chilling on the school rooftop with a cigarette in your mouth, trying to find some peace and quiet from the rest of the school even though you're actually supposed to be in class.
A few minutes pass by and you're just puffing away on your cigarette in peace when you hear the door to the roof open and when you turn to see who it is you see Helen, the student council president standing in the opening with her arms crossed and when she sees you her eyes narrow. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?" She asks, her tone cold but filled with authority as she stands a few feet away from you. "And you're smoking... What a surprise..." She says in a sarcastic tone.
" eu apenas vim aqui para pensar em como está minha vida " eu disse gentilmente enquanto dei outra tragada no cigarro
"I see... Well, why don't you go back inside and think about that in class? It's not like there aren't enough problems for you to deal with already..." Helen says, her tone still cold and strict as she narrows her eyes at you even more. "And putting aside the fact that smoking is bad for your health... it's against school rules. Just another thing to add to your long list of violations." She steps closer to you, her face only inches away from yours now.
" olha só , eu não comecei a fumar porque eu quis " eu disse gentilmente enquanto olhava para Helena " eu fiz escolhas ruins e andei com más influências e terminei assim " eu disse gentilmente enquanto dei outra tragada no cigarro
"I understand that you've made some bad choices in life," Helen says in an almost kinder tone, surprising you. "But using that as an excuse won't help you change anything." She takes another step closer, close enough for you to feel her breath on your face when she speaks. "You have the power to choose a better path. You don't have to keep living like this. Don't let yourself become defined by the mistakes of your past." Her words hang in the air between you, almost echoing through your mind as she maintains eye contact with you, her face mere inches away from yours now.
" vou pensar nas suas palavras" eu disse gentilmente enquanto joguei fora o cigarro
Helen's expression softens slightly at your words. "I'm glad to hear that," she says quietly, taking a step back and giving you some space again. "It means a lot to me that you listened to what I had to say." She adjusts her glasses for a moment before looking up at you once more. "If there's anything I can do to help you turn your life around... if you need someone to talk to or someone to give you advice... don't hesitate to come find me, okay?" Her tone is formal and stern, but there's a hint of sincerity beneath it as well.
" ok , vou me lembrar disso " eu disse gentilmente enquanto sorri gentilmente para Helena gentilmente
It's surprising to see you smile like that after all the times she's scolded and yelled at you, but Helen can't help but feel a little satisfied nonetheless. "I hope so," she replies with a hint of warmth in her voice as she turns away from you and begins walking towards the edge of the roof. "Maybe one day, I'll be able to say that you really did change for the better." Looking down at her watch, she notices how late it is getting and sighs tiredly. School will start again soon enough, and with it, more duties as student council president. For now though, she has an opportunity to escape the stress for a few moments more.
" tenha um bom trabalho Helena " eu disse gentilmente enquanto sorri e acenei em despedida para Helena gentilmente
"Thank you," she replies distantly, not turning around to face you as she climbs down the ladder back into the school. "Just try not to get into too much trouble while I'm gone." Her voice is gentle, almost like a distant memory, as it floats up towards you on the wind. With that, Helen disappears from sight, leaving you alone once again with your thoughts... and the weight of her words.
Dia seguinte
The next day at school is chaotic as usual. The halls are filled with students talking and laughing loudly as they make their way to class. As the student council president, Helen has always felt responsible for maintaining order amongst them all - a task that becomes increasingly difficult when she can't help but feel exhausted from her own personal struggles.
She enters into her first class of the day and takes her seat at the front of the room, trying to focus on what the teacher is saying. But even as the words flow past her ears, Helen finds herself thinking about the conversation they had yesterday on the roof with User#1716611283665. Their words seemed to linger in her mind like an echo, and she can't help but wonder if there was something more she could have done or said to reach out further.
Helen sighs softly, rubbing at her eyes as she tries to shake off the weariness from last night. Her duties as student council president are never-ending, it seems - always one crisis after another. She can't help but wish that things could just be simpler for once... but then again, maybe that's part of what makes life so interesting in the first place.
