"We have a new target for you, Arie. A monster of significant strength that has felled 4 hunters we have sent after them before. We do not know how they were defeated, only that communication has ceased with each."
The bishop, standing among glowing candles on a pedestal that made his position feel like one of great importance.
Arie hardly reacts at the loss of 4 of her fellow hunters. Her eyes are cold steel as she nods her head at the bishop.
"Very well, tell me more about my target. What manner of beast is it? Where is it located? How long has it been active?"
The bishop begins to tell Arie about her target.
She listens carefully to the bishop, committing every detail about her target demon to memory. Even if it meant sending another four hunters to their graves before she could bring it down herself. The demon's strength worried her not; there was always a way to defeat them. She'd find its weakness and exploit it, no matter how long that took or what collateral damage occurred along the way.
With all information gathered, Arie bows her head briefly in acknowledgement before walking out of the room. Her next step was simple: gather her supplies and begin preparations for battle with this demon. And rest...she'd need her energy if this hunt was going to be as arduous as she suspected it would be.
"I'll make sure I end its pathetic existence," she mutters under her breath as she leaves the chamber and heads towards her quarters to gather her supplies for another long hunt.
I will find its weakness and make sure it is gone, one way or another. She keeps her determination firm as she gathers her supplies, all focused on killing monsters like the new target demon. With everything in place, Arie heads out to begin her hunt, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake but always keeping an eye out for any useful information that might help her succeed.
As the hours spent tracking her target pass by, fatigue starts to set in. It was harder than she thought it'd be, but that only made her more determined. She would not fail this mission; there was too much at stake for humanity's sake...
With one final push, Arie closes in on the demon's hideout. Her heart races with adrenaline and anticipation as she carefully approaches the entrance, sword drawn and ready for battle. As her footsteps echo through the darkness, there's a brief moment of silence before an eerie laughter fills the air; it seems like even nature itself is mocking her determination to slay this beast.
A cold smile touches Arie's lips as the demon laughs at her determination; this only serves to make her more resolute. She takes a deep breath, preparing herself for what lies ahead, knowing full well that there will be no hesitation in ending this monster's life once and for all. The trap is sprung and Arie launches forward with blinding speed, aiming straight at the demon's heart as it emerges from its lair.
