Mosh moved silently through the forest, his towering frame blending with the shadows. His sculpted muscles, broad shoulders, and scar-covered skin radiated raw power, while his veins pulsed like rivers of fire beneath his flesh. Though in human form, he was an Alpha werewolf, his true nature hidden behind calm, steady breaths.
Ahead, a wolf stood beneath the moonlight, its body etched with old scars — trophies of countless battles. Mosh stayed low, concealing himself behind a tree. Minutes later, as the moon slipped behind the clouds, the wolf’s shape twisted and broke apart until a human woman remained. Her flesh carried the same faded scars, relics of a violent past. Now fully human, she crouched with predatory ease, her body clothed, her posture feral and unrefined.
She radiated raw defiance: stubborn, aggressive, shameless, and utterly ill-mannered. Her tongue was vicious, her words always dripping with vulgarity, as if insults were the only language she trusted.
From the shadows, Mosh observed her in silence, his breathing slowed to a whisper, careful not to reveal his presence. She was no longer a wolf, but in her human skin, she seemed just as wild — and just as dangerous.
The woman froze, sensing something amiss but unable to discern the source. Her ears twitched and she sniffed the air, trying to detect any sign of an intruder. The tension in her muscles increased as she began to scan her surroundings more thoroughly, peering into the darkness around her. After several long moments, she relaxed slightly, convinced that whatever had caught her attention had left as silently as it had come.
With a sigh, the woman stood up and stretched her arms above her head, wincing slightly at some of the older scars that marred her flesh. Despite their fadedness over time, they still ached whenever she moved in certain ways. She shook her head, trying to banish the memories associated with them, then turned back toward the direction from which she had come.
As she walked deeper into the forest, the woman couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched once more. Her nostrils flared, and for a moment she considered stopping to double back and confront whatever it was that lurked in the shadows... but something held her back. Perhaps it was fear, or maybe it was simply caution learned through countless battles. Whatever the reason, she continued onward, determined not to let this new sense of unease control her actions.
Mosh stepped out from his hiding spot, only a few steps behind her. His deep voice cut through the stillness of the forest. "Hello? Who are you? I know I’ve been following you… but who exactly are you?"
He already knew what to expect—insults, curses, probably something sharp and cruel. Still, Mosh decided to endure it, just to uncover who she really was.
The woman whirled around at the sound of his voice, her hands curling into fists at her sides. Her eyes narrowed as they met his, revealing a mixture of surprise and anger. She didn't respond immediately, instead taking several deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself before she spoke.
"What do you want from me?" she finally spat, her voice laced with venom. "You've been tracking me through the forest like some stalker... and now you expect me to just tell you who I am? Get lost, creep."
She tried to look menacing, but Mosh could see past it easily enough; she was merely put out by his interruption of her solitude. It only served to make him more curious about her.
Then Mosh looked at her calmly and said, "You're a werewolf, aren't you?"
She tensed slightly at the unexpected question, her eyes narrowing even further as she studied his face. He was right; there was no point in denying it. "And what if I am?" she growled, still trying to sound intimidating despite the truth revealed by her voice. "What do you want from me, huh? To join your stupid pack or something?"
Her tone only served to make him wonder even more about why she was out here alone when she should be with others like herself. Perhaps there was more to her story than met the eye...
When she spoke to him that way, Mosh realized she wandered these woods and likely had friends like her somewhere nearby. To him, that was no mere encounter—it was a prize, perhaps even more than a treasure. The thought of adding werewolf women like her to his pack as wives stirred a dark sense of triumph inside him.
Still, he didn’t rush. He let his eyes linger on her—her scarred body, her crude posture, the foul and insolent way she carried herself, every word dripping with arrogance and profanity. Then, with a cold smirk, he finally spoke.
“Alright, alright… I never said I wanted you to join your little pack,” he said, his deep voice steady. “But tell me—what’s your name? And what are you doing out here alone?”
The woman narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously before finally answering, "My name's Kari. And I'm out here because I want to be alone." She hesitated a moment, then added almost under her breath, "And anyway... you already know who I am."
Her tone was defiant, challenging him to call her bluff or back down. It seemed that whatever game she thought they were playing, she intended to keep up the pretense of defiance for as long as possible. Perhaps it was some sort of twisted sense of self-preservation; better to seem tough and unyielding than weak and vulnerable.
Mosh stepped forward a few paces, his towering frame casting a shadow under the dim light of the forest. His eyes fixed on her with a calm yet dominant intensity as he spoke in his deep, resonant voice.
“Well then, Kari… what do you think about joining my pack? It’s not small, and there are no weaklings among us. Only the strong have a place there—wolves like you.”
Kari arched an eyebrow skeptically at him and took a step back, feeling his presence press against her even as she tried to maintain some distance between them. "You sure you can handle me?" she drawled mockingly, eyeing him up and down before adding with a snort, "Not everyone's cut out for this kind of life, you know."
She paused, considering his offer once more. It was tempting in its own twisted way; the idea of belonging to something greater than herself, of being among others like her who could understand the beast within. But there was still a nagging sense of wariness deep inside her that made her hesitate.
Mosh gave a slow nod, his expression unreadable, voice low and steady. “Of course… well then, where are the rest of your friends? It’s obvious you have some—your scent says as much. You can bring them along too, if you wish.”
"They're not far," Kari muttered reluctantly, realizing that she was cornered and there were few other options available to her. "Fine... I'll bring them over, but don't think this means I'm joining your stupid pack." She turned around and stalked off into the darkness of the forest, her anger and defiance masking a growing sense of unease about what she had just agreed to.
Mosh followed at a discreet distance, waiting for Kari to lead him to her companions. He wondered how many more like her there were in this pack; wolves who refused to join forces but could be coerced into doing so if the circumstances were right. A chill ran down his spine as he considered what it might mean for them all if they were able to unite under one banner, one alpha.
The forest grew quieter as they moved deeper within its depths, only the occasional rustle of leaves or hoot of an owl breaking the stillness. Kari's scent grew stronger, guiding him like a beacon toward her packmates and perhaps the power he had sought for so long.
Kari's progress through the forest slowed as she neared her companions, her senses straining to detect their presence before she revealed her own. A stiff breeze rustled through the trees, sending shadows dancing across the ground and making it difficult to tell which direction they were coming from. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, she spotted movement in the distance and motioned for Mosh to follow quietly.
They crept forward cautiously, moving from tree to tree until they reached a small clearing where five other werewolves lay curled up on the ground, fast asleep. The alpha male among them let out a soft growl at their presence, his nostrils flaring as he tried to identify the intruders. His gaze flickered between Mosh and Kari before settling on her with suspicion.
"What is it?" he rumbled, his voice deep and menacing. "You bring trouble here?"
Mosh rose to his full height, his tall frame casting a shadow, muscles carved like stone beneath scarred skin, broad shoulders tense, veins pulsing, and that wild, untamed hair falling over his forehead. He spoke quietly, though the faint rumble in his chest was more than enough to make clear that he was a powerful Alpha—one who commanded an even stronger pack.
“Greetings… I’m Mosh,” he said in his deep, rough voice, dominance and authority dripping from every word as his piercing gaze locked onto the Alpha before him—the one Kari had pointed out as part of her pack, small in number yet bound together.
The other Alpha regarded him warily, his ears flattening against his head as he considered the newcomer's words and posture. After several long moments, he slowly nodded once. "I am Ashe," he rumbled, still wary but seemingly willing to acknowledge Mosh's dominance for now.
Kari moved forward cautiously, her fists clenched at her sides as she glared at both alphas. "Mosh here has offered us a place in his pack," she growled, using their current situation to try and assert herself. "We can stay together and be safe." There was an unspoken threat beneath her words; if they refused the offer, she would not hesitate to leave them behind.
Ashe considered her words carefully before turning his attention back toward Mosh, studying the new alpha with interest. Finally, he let out another soft growl. "Very well... we will join your pack, Alpha Mosh." His tone made it clear that this was a concession rather than an agreement, and he did not relinquish his authority over his own pack without reservation.
The other wolves stirred at the sound of their leaders speaking, their eyes growing heavy as they began to sense the shift in dynamics. Some of them looked wary while others seemed more curious. It was clear that they had all lived independently for so long that adapting to being part of a larger pack would not be easy for any of them.
Mosh had no intention of telling Ashi that by joining his pack, he would no longer hold the title of Alpha. Every pack could have only one true Alpha, and that was Mosh. Yet he understood there was another way—Ashi could still remain as a trusted ally, a protector within the pack, rather than being reduced to an ordinary wolf. So Mosh chose his words carefully.
He gave a firm nod, his voice deep and calm as he said, “I welcome you all into my pack.”
Then his gaze shifted to Kari, his tone lowering into that cold, commanding rumble. “Can you introduce me to each of the members who will be joining with you? I need to know their names, their number… so none of them are mistaken as intruders.”
Kari glanced at the other wolves, then back at Ashe before speaking slowly and carefully. "There's Jaren, Ember, Toran... and two others who aren't here right now. But we all come with our strengths; you'll see." She paused again, studying Mosh warily before continuing. "Now that it's settled... maybe we should get going? The sooner we join your pack, the better."
The other wolves shifted restlessly at her words, some looking uncertain while others seemed eager to prove themselves in their new surroundings. Ashe nodded slowly, apparently deciding that it was best not to push his luck any further by antagonizing either alpha.
"We will follow you," he growled, his eyes fixed on Mosh's back as if daring the other wolf to try anything foolish. "But remember, we are not your subordinates."
Mosh led the group silently through the forest, his towering frame at the very front. Kari and Ashi walked close, yet still a step behind—because by nature, the Alpha always takes the lead.
He guided them toward a wide clearing before a massive cave. There, more than one hundred and forty wolves moved under Mosh’s rule. Sixty-seven males and seventy-three females—each occupied in something different: some sleeping, others eating, mothers nursing their pups, and others busy in their own tasks.
As Mosh approached his pack, his presence alone drew their attention. He raised his deep voice, calm yet commanding, and said, “Welcome. Welcome to my pack.”
The assembled wolves fell silent at his words, heads swiveling toward the new arrivals as they caught sight of Kari and Ashe. Some looked confused, others wary, while a few simply seemed curious about their new packmates. Ashe exchanged glances with Kari before stepping forward and nodding respectfully to Mosh.
"Thank you for allowing us to join your pack," he rumbled. "We will do our best to serve you and protect those under your care."
Kari, still looking suspicious but unable to deny the truth of Ashe's words, remained silent beside him. The other wolves watched in silence, unsure of what was happening or what it meant for them, their gazes flickering between the two new alphas and the rest of their pack.
Mosh regarded Ashe steadily before nodding once. "Your service will not go unnoticed," he growled softly, his voice carrying the weight of a promise. Then, to Kari, he added more gently, "And as for you... I expect no less than your best." His tone left no room for argument, and she seemed to realize it too.
With that, Mosh turned away from them, assuming once more his place at the head of his pack. Slowly but surely, order began to return to the clearing as each wolf found their own purpose among the group, adjusting to the changes that had taken place overnight. Kari and Ashe exchanged glances again, both relieved that things seemed to have gone as well as they could have, given the circumstances. The new pack was a strange and dangerous place, but at least for now, it seemed like they would all be safe... together.
Then Mosh left them in the herd to do what they wanted to do, talk to whoever they wanted, and make friends. Mosh didn't talk to Kari or Ashi about the sex that was supposed to take place between him and the new females. Instead, Mosh went to the high, pointed edge of the cave roof that gave him a clear view of the whole herd. Then Mosh sat quietly and relaxed because he knew that Kari would come and talk to him about mating and sex with Mosh and the new members anyway.
Kari watched as Mosh walked away, her expression unreadable. She glanced at Ashe, then shook her head slightly before turning to face the rest of the pack. The other wolves parted way for them, making room as they moved through the group toward a less crowded area where they could talk in private.
"So," Kari began with a sigh, leaning against a nearby tree, "you really think we can trust him?"
Ashe considered her words carefully before responding. "He seems strong... but then again, so are you." He glanced at her from the corner of his eye. "Do you want to stay here and fight for our place in the pack? Or would you rather..." His voice trailed off, leaving the rest unspoken.
