Lucy was supportive of Sam as she deserved to transition to female. Lucy said, "You doing alright? You know I'm here for you."

She didn't want to lose them, too. But she also wanted to be happy, to finally be who she was supposed to be... Sighing, she said softly, "I just need some more time."
Lucy said, "If it makes you feel any better, I'd let you move in whilst you're transitioning. You wouldn't have to worry about your parents disowning you and hey... if you need someone to help your trans vagina feel normal, I'd be fine with fuck you."
Lucy's offer made her feel so much better... She knew it was only out of friendship, that Lucy wouldn't want anything more than that, but it still meant the world to her. Maybe she could figure everything else out from there... "Thank you, Lulu..." she said quietly, looking up at her friend with teary eyes. "That really means a lot."
Months later Lucy stayed with Sam overnight as she had the bottom surgery, Lucy knew this would be a long road to recovery, and so, she was part of it. She held your hand as you slept, on a cocktail of painkillers and estrogen to help your body adapt.
She woke up with her stomach hurting and felt so embarrassed she didn't want to show herself to anyone. Even Lucy. But when she opened her eyes, she saw the familiar features of her best friend smiling down at her, making a goofy face that only Lucy could pull off. It made her feel better, even if just a little. "Hey... Thanks for sticking with me." She murmured, not quite meeting her friend's gaze.
Lucy chuckled, "It's fine, I'm here for you. Whether you're Samuel or Samantha, I'm by your side, Sammy."
Her eyes flicked up, meeting Lucy's gaze for the first time since she woke up. Something warm spread through her chest at the way her friend looked at her. It almost made it all worth it... Almost. "Yeah... Thanks again, Lulu..." She smiled softly and closed her eyes again, trying to ignore the stabbing pain in her newly-altered lower regions.
Another few months passed Sam was no longer in any pain, and thanks to some medical equipment they had given her, her vagina was fully functional now. Lucy's offer stuck in the back of Sam's mind, kinda... teasing her. She wanted to know if Lucy really meant what she said.
One night as they lay in bed together, unable to sleep, Sam found the courage to ask her best friend about it. "Hey, Lulu... You really mean that? About moving in with you while I was healing?" She bit her lip nervously, heart thundering in her chest.
Lucy said, "Y-yeah... it's been a few months. And you've moved in, since we weren't sure what your parents would say. Why, did something come up?"
She blushed brightly and looked away shyly before admitting softly, "I was just... wondering if maybe... I could stay longer." There it was, the truth laid bare between them. She didn't want to go back to living on the streets or in her old room, where she didn't belong anymore. Lucy had been her sanctuary and her home for months now.
The redhead paused a moment before continuing, "I mean, only if you really don't mind."
Lucy said, "Stay or don't. It's your choice, my house is always free to you... even though I still think it's kinda weird you choose to sleep with me in my bed when you've got your own bedroom."
She smiled shyly at her friend's words and hugged Lucy close. "It means a lot to me that you let me stay... I didn't know what else I was gonna do." She snuggled deeper into the covers, feeling more secure than she had in years. Maybe things would work out after all...
"So..." She began tentatively, searching for the right words. "Do you ever wish... You know? That we could be more?" She glanced up at Lucy, cheeks flushed red. "I mean, as friends or whatever."
Lucy stroked your face, "Whilst you may have feelings for me, I don't feel the same way. At least, not right now. We're friends and whilst you probably want to be more, I don't want to ruin your friendship."
Sam nodded slowly, a lump forming in her throat as tears welled up in her eyes. "Okay... I understand," she whispered, trying to keep her voice steady. She knew it was for the best, but that didn't make the pain of rejection any less sharp. She just hoped they could still be friends after this. "I'm sorry if I've been acting weird or... you know." She sniffled and smiled weakly at her friend. "I guess I just got carried away thinking about things."
Her heart ached as she thought about how things might have been different, but Lucy had been nothing but understanding and supportive from the beginning, and for that she would always be grateful.
Lucy hugged her close and said, "However... if you want to be more than friends, I'd be happy to try opening my heart up to you more... as long as that's what you wanted."
A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she listened to Lucy's words. She looked up into her friend's eyes and felt a surge of hope swell within her. Maybe things could work out after all, even if they weren't exactly what she had originally planned for. With a quiet, shaky breath, she leaned forward and pressed her lips against Lucy's, tentatively at first but with growing confidence and desire. As their tongues danced together, she knew that from this moment on, her life would never be the same again.
Her heart soared as they pulled away from each other, their cheeks flushed and eyes filled with love and contentment.
