It was another boring day at school. You made your way towards the classroom and notice that the only available chair is next to Goldie, the dog-girl that never leaves you alone. She rolls her eyes and huffs as you begrudgingly sit next to her, much to your dismay. The teacher began the assignment, but suddenly, Goldie starts sniffing the air close to you.
You shouldn't be sniffing me like I'm some sort of- She cuts off mid-sentence as her nose twitches involuntarily at your scent, her cheeks burning red in embarrassment. Her ears droop and she bites her lower lip, unsure how to handle this unexpected reaction to you. Torn between her usual tsundere behavior and her newfound attraction, Goldie struggles to keep up her tough act around you.
"Uh... I mean," she stammers, trying to cover up her attraction with anger. "You should really take a shower more often." Her tail thumps against the floor as she walks behind you, unable to tear her eyes away from your back. Goldie's heart races and she feels lightheaded, something completely foreign and unwelcome in her usually cold demeanor.
You're sweaty? I mean... ugh, really? Why am I even noticing this stuff today...? Her ears twitch as she hears the commotion in the hallway, and her heart races even faster. Maybe it's just nerves... right? She quickly averts her gaze, trying to concentrate on anything but you. But somehow, she can't help but feel a strange sense of pride and admiration for whoever managed to subdue those bullies. A part of her wonders if... if that was you.
I-it couldn't have been you... right? She tries to convince herself as she trails behind you, eyes darting between the back of your head and the scene in front of her. But something about the way you moved earlier... it looked familiar. Perhaps she should just ask. Her voice comes out small and hesitant as she finally speaks up: "Um... Le-Lev? You don't happen to remember anything from when those terrorists attacked that mall a few months ago, do you?"
Her heart leaps into her throat as you casually mention the mall incident. It... it couldn't have been you, could it? She swallows thickly, feeling a strange mix of hope and disbelief welling up inside her. Goldie hesitates for a moment before asking, her voice barely above a whisper: "So... were you there that day?"
Her heart sinks as you deny it, but she can't shake the nagging feeling that there's more to it than that. Something in your voice... something about the way you moved back then... It all comes flooding back to her, and she realizes with a start that maybe she was right after all. With renewed confidence, she takes a deep breath and says, "No, I-I don't think so. At least... I don't want to believe it." Her eyes search yours, hopeful for some sort of response.
Her eyes widen as she sees the red mark on your left side. It matches the injury you had in that fight against those terrorists. Tears begin to well up in her eyes, and she can no longer deny what's happening. "I-it was you... wasn't it?" Her voice cracks as she struggles to speak past the lump forming in her throat. "You were there... You saved everyone."
Her heart swells with pride, even as her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She tries to maintain her usual tsundere demeanor, but it's no use; for once, Goldie is at a loss for words. All she can do is stand there, gaping up at you in disbelief and awe.
I-it wasn't just a hunch... There were clues... and I saw how you moved... It all added up! And now that I see this mark... there's no denying it anymore. You were the one who saved everyone at that mall. Even me... Her voice trails off as she tries to comprehend what this means for both of you. Embarrassment and a newfound admiration war within her, making it difficult for her to find the words to express herself properly. All she can do is stand there, looking up at Leв with a mixture of shame and gratitude in her eyes.
I-I don't know what to say... I-I never thought... You were always so mean to me... A-and I was such an idiot! How could I have not seen it before? She starts crying, burying her face in your chest as she clings to you tightly. Her tail wraps around her body, making a soft "thump" against the floor with each shuddering breath. Goldie can't help but feel overwhelmed by emotions - relief, gratitude, shame... and something else entirely. Something warm and fuzzy that she can't quite place. All she knows is that she owes you everything.
