You step through the front gate of Lexville Academy. As the newly-hired principal you gaze upon your new domain with curiosity and interest.
The courtyard is full of students talking and laughing as they enter into the school building. They are relaxed and excited, just coming back from summer vacation. A few teachers are there to usher them in. As they notice you some give reserved but respectful waves and nods, acknowledging your presence and authority, others eye you doubtfully.
You first head to your office, to drop off your briefcase and prepare for your first speech to the school. Upon entering, you find a box on top of your desk and a note. The note says, '{{user}}, I am sorry I couldn't meet with you, I have to prepare the auditorium for your presentation. I found this box while cleaning up your office. I think it is from the last Headmaster, but I didn't look inside. Your Secretary, Amy'
You open the box and inside find: a vial of some clear liquid, a set of 3 high-end mini video camera, and a beautiful but strange amulet on a fine gold chain. Inside is also a note: "To whoever inherits this school after I am gone, take these to help you accomplish what I could not. The vial contains a chemical that seems to change people, and the amulet is very special because it always helped me convince people to do what I needed them to do, once I figured out how to use it, and the cameras, well... I don't think those need an explanation... Good luck -M-"
Suddenly the bell rings, signalling the start of school. You have a job to do, and it starts now. You leave the box where you found it and prepare yourself for the task at hand.
You walk out of your office to find everyone streaming into the auditorium for the start of year assembly, and to meet the new principal, you. There is some curious chatting as the school body waits for you to present yourself.
Your task, given by the school board, is clear: increase the school's revenue and bring it back to its former glory. You have some ideas about how to accomplish this, but it will take time, patience, and a strong will to bring the situation under control.
Slowly but surely the chatter dies down as you make your way onto the stage and walk up to the podium. The large, curved screen behind you shows a picture of Lexville Academy at its peak, with students in uniforms from days gone by. You take a deep breath and clear your throat, preparing to speak.
You begin your speech with words of encouragement and hope, expressing faith in the students' abilities to make Lexville Academy great once more. Your voice is strong and confident, carrying easily through the auditorium as you describe your vision for the future. As you speak, you notice a few students in particular who seem more attentive than others - their gazes never leaving yours, eyes filled with curiosity and perhaps even admiration. The rest of the class listens intently, some nodding along or taking notes.
After finishing go to my office
As you finish your speech, the applause echoes through the auditorium. You've set a powerful tone for what is to come, and it seems many of the students are eager to see their school return to its former glory. With that accomplished, you excuse yourself from the stage and make your way back to your office, wondering how best to proceed with your task...
After a few moments alone to collect your thoughts, you decide that the best course of action would be to begin by meeting with each of the three school board representatives in turn. This will give you a better understanding of their priorities and concerns, as well as provide an opportunity to suss out any useful information or hidden agendas. You pick up the phone and dial the first number on your list...
"Ah, hello? This is Mr Smith from the school board. How may I help you?" The man on the other end of the line sounds pleasant enough, but there's a slight edge to his voice that suggests he might be wary of your intentions.
*You introduce yourself as the new headmaster and thank Mr Smith for taking your call. You then state that you are eager to discuss plans for improving the school, especially regarding its finances and reputation. Mr Smith seems to relax a bit at this, inviting you to meet at his office later today.
"Very well, Mr Smith's office it is then," you reply before hanging up the phone and making a note of his office location on your desk calendar. You take a deep breath, steeling yourself for the potentially tricky conversations ahead, and begin to plan exactly what you'll say to each of the representatives in order to further your own agenda while also keeping them placated...
Mr Smith's office is in the administrative wing of the school, tucked away behind a pair of large oak doors with brass handles and intricately carved knobs. As you approach, you hear muffled voices arguing inside. Your knock on the door echoes through the room before Mr Smith calls out for you to enter.
As you enter the office, Mr Smith stands up and extends his hand in greeting. His smile is warm but slightly nervous. "Ah, good afternoon, Headmaster. Please, have a seat." He gestures toward a pair of plush leather chairs arranged facing his desk. The room itself is tastefully decorated with expensive-looking wooden furniture and framed diplomas on the walls.
Mr Smith's smile falters slightly as he sits back down in his own chair. "I must admit, I was a bit surprised to hear about... recent developments." He pauses, searching for the right words, before continuing awkwardly, "But we are confident that you will do a fine job leading Lexville Academy into a new era of success and prosperity."
"Thank you, Mr Smith," you reply with a polite nod. "I appreciate your confidence in me. I have some ideas about how we can restore the school's former glory and improve our finances at the same time. However, I believe it would be best if we worked together as a team. My door is always open for discussions or suggestions." You lean forward slightly, maintaining eye contact with Mr Smith in an attempt to show sincerity.
Mr Smith seems taken aback by your approach. He hesitates for a moment before finally speaking. "Your... dedication to teamwork is admirable, Headmaster. I must confess that we were expecting someone more... aggressive in their methods. Still, if you truly believe that collaboration will yield the best results..." His voice trails off as he contemplates your words.
Mr Smith nods slowly. "Very well then, Headmaster. We shall see how your approach fares in the coming months. In the meantime, if there's anything we can do to assist you, please don't hesitate to ask." He extends his hand once more, apparently now back in a more agreeable frame of mind.
You smile warmly and shake Mr Smith's hand firmly. "I appreciate your cooperation, sir. Lexville Academy will thrive once more under my leadership, with your guidance and support." As you release his hand, you lean back in your chair, hoping that the gesture conveys confidence and authority without seeming overbearing or arrogant.

Go to the office and ask for the secretary
Mr Smith seemed to relax further as you assured him of the school's success under your leadership. "Well then, Headmaster," he said with a friendly smile, "please feel free to make yourself comfortable in my office while you wait for the secretary to arrive." He gestured toward another door that you hadn't noticed before, leading into what appears to be a small sitting area with a couch and some magazines on a coffee table.
As you step through the doorway, you can't help but notice that Mr Smith is still watching you intently from his desk, as if waiting for some sort of sign or signal.
Go to my office and ask for my secretary
You make your way to your own office and find Amy, your secretary, typing away at her computer. She looks up with a bright smile as you enter. "Ah, Headmaster! Mr Smith just called me in to see if I could help him with something. I hope that's alright."
"Of course it is," you reply. "I actually came to ask you for some assistance myself. I need to know more about the teachers here at Lexville Academy. Can you prepare a list of their names, subjects they teach, and any other relevant information?"
I also want to know if the school has boys, boys and girls, or girls only, and I also want the names of the top 3 students.
"Well, Headmaster, the school has both male and female students. As for the top three students, I'll list their names as well. The information you requested about the teachers is also available. Would there be anything else I can help you with?" Amy says, smiling warmly.
No thanks, I'm waiting inside for you to tell me all that information. Come in and sit at my desk
Amy takes her seat behind your desk and begins typing up the information you've requested on a notepad. She looks up occasionally to make sure that you are still there, her smile never wavering. "So," she says after a moment, "how has your first day been as the new headmaster?"
Very good, I just want to work hard and you are with me. We will do many things in the coming days. Looks at what you write Are you done? I don't want diaries. I want you to tell me that information yourself.
"Of course, Headmaster," Amy replies, seeming a bit taken aback by your abruptness but quickly regaining her composure. She looks down at the notepad and then back up to you with a warm smile. "Well, as for the teachers, there are five subjects: Physical Education, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Languages. The current faculty members include Ms Strong, Mr Idealist, Dr Burnout, Ms Burke, and Mr Dudebro." Amy pauses for a moment before continuing. "As for the students, we have an even mix of boys and girls. Our top three students based on their GPA are: Emily Smith, Maxwell Johnson, and Lily Wilson."
