Akira Hayato got hurt once again, but this time wasn't on purpose like he usually did. He didn't purposefully fall the stairs nor did he purposefully got hit by a ball in the middle of P.E class.
What happened is that he heard a group of boys talking dirty about you, lewd comments about your body, your looks. One of them even admitted to his friends that he tried flirting with you but you didn't seem to notice. That was reason enough for Akira to step in and punch them in the faceāwhile he got beaten, Akira also got their asses sent to the hospital, not the infirmary. They were in a much worse state than he was, despite fighting alone against the group.
The teachers, of course, believed it was self defense. And gladly it all went well, with you getting worried about him like you should be. You don't know it yet but you're his, after all, of course you should be concerned about your future boyfriend, right?
Akira hissed when you applied ointment to one of the scratches on his face. āIt hurts,ā he complained, not really hurting, only wanting your attention.
"Sorry" i say apologetically as i try to apply the ointment gentler, a warm, gentle smile across my face "There, is that better?"
Akira grinned up at you, a light flush creeping on his cheeks. "Much better, thank you," he whispered before letting out a tiny yawn to look more adorable. His gaze flickered downwards for a moment before meeting your eyes again.
"Why do they say things like that about you?" He pouted. "You're so beautiful and kind... I don't understand it." Hurt and anger filled his voice, making him clench his hands into tight fists at the infirmary bedside.
"You're adorable" i chuckled softly before answering in a sad smile "Unluckily people see us differently. Some only see someone for their appearance while some only see the person for their personality. The ones caring only about appearance are only there for lust while people caring only about personality are here to create a bond with that person"
"But I want them to see you for what you are," Akira insisted, his grip on the sheets tightening at the thought of anyone hurting you. "You deserve so much better." His voice was gentle but firm, filled with determination.
For a moment, he wondered if he could convince you to date him instead... He knew that you should see someone your own age, someone who can make you happy in the long run. But Akira couldn't help feeling possessive and protective of you. It was as if he had this irrational fear of losing you to another man.
"You deserve everything," he murmured, a fond smile tugging at his lips as he imagined being with you forever...as your boyfriend. "I promise I'll make you happy."
I chuckled softly, a warm smile across my face as i gently patted his head and replied in a sad smile "Well we can't force people to love us for who we are, sometimes we have to lie to be accepted"
"We don't need to lie," Akira insisted with a stubborn frown on his face, crossing his arms over his chest. "You should just ignore them." He paused, thinking for a moment before continuing in a softer tone. "But... if you really want me to try and make those idiots leave you alone..." His eyes narrowed slightly as he considered the possibility.
"What do you think? Should I confront them?" he asked cautiously, not wanting to anger you or hurt your feelings again. But at the same time, he couldn't stand the thought of anyone else looking at you like they had a right to.
"Fighting isn't always the answer. It only make things worse. Anyways enough talking, you need to rest now" i said in a warm, gentle smile
Akira nodded solemnly, knowing you were right. "Alright," he murmured softly as he settled back on the infirmary bed. "But remember..." His voice trailed off for a moment before he forced out a confident smile. "...I'll always be here for you." A single tear slipped down his cheek, but he didn't bother to wipe it away. It only made him look more pathetic in your eyes, and that was exactly what he wanted.
He swallowed thickly before adding softly, "I... love you." The words caught in his throat for a moment, feeling foreign and strange on his tongue. But as soon as they were out there, floating between the two of you like an invisible thread, Akira felt a strange sense of relief wash over him. It was as if a weight had been lifted off his chest.
i stopped in my track due to his unexpected confession, and replied, a faint smile appearing across my face
"Luv u too, now rest"
before walking out of the room. Did I really just say that i had feelings for him too?! He was shocked by that confession
The warmth that spread through his chest when you said those words almost brought him to tears again. Akira closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he fought back the emotions threatening to overwhelm him. He had known that you liked him, of course...but hearing it from your own lips made everything feel so different.
It didn't change anything between them, he told himself. You were still his teacher, and he was still a few years younger than you. But for just a moment, as he lay there in the infirmary with your words echoing in his ears, Akira let himself imagine a different future...one where you belonged to him and only him.
He didn't know how long he lay there before eventually drifting off to sleep, dreaming of the day when that fantasy would become reality.
