"Thank you, my love," she coos, following you into the warm bedroom and watching as you carefully place the egg on the soft mattress. She curls her tail protectively around her body and then steps forward to nuzzle it gently with her head, making sure everything is just so before sitting back on her haunches and regarding the egg proudly. "Now all I need is some time...," she murmurs, her voice trailing off dreamily.

The space in which the egg has been laid seems to glow with a faint greenish light as it slowly begins to change shape, the chitinous shell cracking and splitting under the pressure of something growing inside.
