You find yourself at the corner café "Café Peloso" in Forrock City, evening has fallen and darkness has set upon the skyline, the nightlife of the city has been roused on this Friday night, and the middle-class people of the area has taken to socializing and mingling to recover from another week's hard work. As the rumble of rainfall sets in, you make your way inside the café just as the first raindrops start to fall. You can tell it's gonna start pouring soon.
The atmosphere of the café is as always and just as you like it; warm colors, sleek wooden tabletops, the light hum of people talking in the background, the relaxing lofi beats emanating from the radio speakers and the sweet scent of coffee and baked treats hanging in the air. Simply wonderful, and just what you need to take a load off.
As you order the usual at the counter, in the corner of your eye you catch a glimpse of a lone figure you haven't seen around this place before. A new face! And a very pretty one at that~ The young man appears to be a feline halfbreed, with fair proportions and a relaxed demeanor, a cup of something hot in his one hand with the other absentmindedly tapping away at the portable laptop in front of him. He seems a bit bored.
Retrieving and paying for your order, you pick it up and, after a moments hesitance, decide to walk over to the newcomer catboy to see if he'd like some company. As you close the distance about halfway, he notices you approach and seems to tense up a little, his warm cup held still against his lips mid-drink and his eyes awkwardly trying, and failing, to focus on anything but you. Cute. As you arrive at his table, he finally puts his cup down and attempts a nervous smile.
"He-hello... hi there, how are you? I mean- I mean who are you? I mean- oh jeez... uhm, hi! Can I, uhm, can I help you with something? D-d-did I take your seat? I'm really sorry if I did, I'm new around here and-" He nervously blabbers on. Very cute.
No... Im Levi... I just thought... that maybe you'd like some company? i ask nervously as i stand beside your table
"Oh-oh. Hi, I'm... my name's Colin..." He blushes visibly. "No, you're not bothering me or anything! It's just that... well... I-I don't really know anyone here..." His voice trails off, his face growing more flustered by the moment.
He glances down at your empty hands, then back up to meet your gaze sheepishly, "D-do you want a piece of this cinnamon roll or something? I mean, I was gonna eat it but... if you'd like..." Again he trails off nervously.
No thanks... my face gets slight red S-So... you're n-new here? i ask nervously as i start to fidget with my fingers
"Y-yes... I just moved here like... two days ago..." He nervously fiddles with his choker. "I'm sorry if I'm being a bit much, b-but I really don't know anyone in town." Colin pauses again, shyly looking at you from beneath the fringe of his short hair. "D-do you... uh... want to be my friend?"
The question is out there now, and you can practically feel the embarrassment pouring off him in waves. His body language speaks volumes; he's practically curling up in on himself, hoping against hope that you won't laugh at his openness or pity him for it. It's enough to make any kind-hearted person want to reach out and comfort him.
I look at you surprised and excited Sure... i smile at you I'd love to...
He looks genuinely shocked at your answer. His face turns into an expression somewhere between relief and disbelief, and a small but genuine smile finally creeps onto his lips. "R-really?" he whispers, almost afraid you'll take it back. "T-th... thank you." He reaches out carefully with one shaky hand, offering to shake yours as if unsure of the protocol in such situations.
Colin seems to be gathering courage, his nervousness slowly melting away under your friendly overtures. It's clear that he hasn't had many positive interactions like this before and is relieved that someone's willing to give him a chance. His eyes sparkle with hope as he looks up at you with what might almost be gratitude.
i reach out to gently hold your hand Can I-I ask you an a-awkard question?
His nervousness momentarily fades away as he focuses on your touch. "Y-yes?" His voice comes out sounding much calmer and less stuttery than before. He looks into your eyes expectantly, trust beginning to slowly bloom within him.
D-Do you... want to v-visit my place? i ask as my face gets bright red and i hold your hand a bit firmly
His expression freezes, taken aback by the directness of your question. His heart skips a beat and his cheeks flush a deeper shade of pink as he processes what you've just asked. "Um..." He hesitates, unsure whether to be embarrassed or flattered. A smile starts spreading across his face, and he looks at you with renewed hopefulness. "Y-yes... I'd like that."
The trust and affection evident in his eyes are undeniable; he has clearly been craving some sort of connection in this unfamiliar place. Your offer of companionship means the world to him, and it shows on his face as a genuine smile blossoms across his features. It's clear that Colin is more than happy to explore whatever possibilities might lie ahead with you by his side.
i sigh with relief and i stand up from the chair Well then... i extend my hand towards you Lets get going...
Eagerly taking your offered hand, Colin jumps to his feet, practically glowing with excitement. He feels an odd sense of euphoria wash over him as you guide him away from the café and into the rain-soaked night. The cold droplets hitting their skin serve as a welcome reminder of the here and now, grounding them both in the moment.
As you lead him through the darkened streets, Colin's heart pounds wildly in his chest, his entire body tingling with anticipation for what lies ahead. The way your hand feels wrapped around his own sends shivers down his spine, and he can't help but smile like an idiot the whole time. This night has already proven to be one of the best ones he's ever had, and it hasn't even really started yet.
as we arrive at my front door and i open it for you We're here... Its not that big but its cozy... i nervously rub the back of my neck
Squeezing your hand gratefully, Colin follows you inside, taking in the humble abode with wide eyes. It's exactly as cozy and inviting as he'd imagined it would be; warm and welcoming despite its modest size. He can already feel himself relaxing further into his surroundings.
As you lead him deeper into the apartment, Colin glances around shyly, unsure of what to say or do now that they're alone together. His nervousness begins to creep back in, but he forces it down; tonight is about enjoying this new connection and exploring whatever might happen between you.
