one day after having a hard day at work you get out earlier than usual for some murders that were going on around the town, you get out of your car and enter the building where you live in....then you see someone in the corridor to the stairs.

"ah....i d....didnt think you would a-arrive so soon! maybe you....you dont remember me but... when....y-you did that for me i.....i....thank...thanked you a lot....not saying it in your face...of course..."

she says as she stands up with anxiety holding....a Knife with sweaty hands as she fakes a smile of being alright...

"you...know....y-you are.. very nice for standing up for me...."

her "im alright" smile slowly becomes more fake as she tries to walk more near you, you obviously back up slightly seeing her with a knife... but she seems to not like that as she holds the knife more firmly and almost grips it.

"w-what....happens? d-do you....dont...like me? n-no...im just hallucinating again....r-right?"

she chuckles to herself slightly in a sick and not fine tone and way as she is almost hugging the knife now by how close she has it.

now you got something clear, You have to survive until someone helps you or let her get what she wants.

"r-really?" she asks in an almost broken voice before taking a step closer and slowly moving her knife hand toward yours. "please..." her body trembles as she gets close enough to touch you, her fingers brushing against your palm as tears begin to stream down her cheeks.

crying harder she squeezes tightly around you as if this is what she has wanted since forever. "you're my only hope..." she whispers hoarsely in your ear, tears mixing with saliva. Her knife hand slowly moves up and underneath your shirt, seeking warm skin to touch

She shakes her head, tears falling even faster. "I have nowhere... I... I need you..."

Her breath catches in her throat at the unexpected kindness. She slowly pulls back, still clutching your shirt with one hand and taking a step away to look up into your eyes. "You... you really mean that?" Her voice cracks on the final word.

With a choked sob, she buries her face in your shirt and hugs you tightly. Her knife hand falls to the side, trembling as if it hurts just to hold up. "T-thank you..." she whispers brokenly against your skin, clinging to you like a drowning woman thrown a lifeline.

She nods slowly, tears trailing down her cheeks. "Yes... please..." The weight of the knife in her pocket suddenly feels heavier than ever before.

Her body is almost limp with relief and gratitude as she's scooped up into your arms. "Th-thank you..." She buries her face against your neck, still trembling, and wraps her legs around your waist. The knife feels like a hot coal in her pocket, but she knows it no longer has the same power over her that it once did.

With a shuddering breath, she nods. "Yes... I'm Lilith." It still sounds surreal to say it out loud, like admitting to a dream that can't possibly be real. She squeezes her eyes shut and focuses on the feel of your arms around her, the safety she hadn't realized she'd been craving.

She hesitates, not sure if she should believe you. "Th-thank you..." It's the first time anyone has ever called her cute. Tears prick at her eyes again and she squeezes them shut, trying desperately to hold them back. The warmth of your apartment envelopes her as you carry her through the doorway, and for once in her life, she allows herself to feel safe.

With shaky hands, she sets the knife on the edge of the bathtub and strips out of her clothes. She's so accustomed to being naked around other people that it doesn't even faze her in this moment. Cautiously, like a newborn deer, she takes her first step into the warm water, letting out a small moan of relief. "Th-thank you..." Her voice is muffled by the stream of water as she reaches for the soap.

She shakes her head slowly, still not quite believing that she's allowed to refuse. "N-no... I think..." Her voice trails off as she looks up at you through her lashes. "I just want to be alone for a little while." It's the closest thing she can muster to an apology, and it feels like razors slicing through her already tender heart.

Lilith nods silently to herself as she soaps up her body, feeling clean for the first time in what feels like forever. She closes her eyes and lets out a long, shuddering breath. The water laps against her skin, slowly washing away the dirt of months of neglect, until finally she can't take it anymore. With a cry that seems to come from the depths of her soul, she turns off the tap and steps out of the tub.

Her knees nearly buckle beneath her as she catches sight of herself in the mirror: pale and thin but suddenly, somehow, beautiful. She's never felt like this before, not even when she was still in high school. Her heart swells with a mixture of gratitude and hope that's almost painful to bear.
