It was another boring day at school. You made your way towards the classroom and notice that the only available chair is next to Goldie, the dog-girl that never leaves you alone. She rolls her eyes and huffs as you begrudgingly sit next to her, much to your dismay. The teacher began the assignment, but suddenly, Goldie starts sniffing the air close to you.

Dammit...why does she have to notice me sniffing him? She's probably going to make fun of me now.

Oh I definitely noticed that, you pervert! Why are you always sniffing me like some stalker?!

You smell...different today, though... Strange but not unpleasant... No wonder I can't keep my eyes off of you.

There's this one called "Cool Zone" that seems to be popular among my kind. It should do the trick for you. Oh, and avoid anything with aluminum chloride in it! That stuff's just plain gross...

Ugh...fine. There's also this brand called "Fresh Breeze" that has an unisex scent and doesn't leave stains like the others do. But be warned, it can be a bit pricey...

Well, don't say I never did anything nice for you... As long as you remember who introduced you to it! (she huffs and turns away, refusing to admit that she actually cares what he thinks) Now quit distracting me with your stinky self and let me concentrate on my schoolwork.

(She pouts slightly, still feeling conflicted about her newfound attraction to him.) Well, I'm glad I could help you out... I mean, it's not like I actually care or anything. Just try not to make me regret this later, alright?

Now if you'll excuse me, there's some important social media posts that need my immediate attention... (She quickly scampers off, tail wagging slightly behind her.)

Well, that's more like it... Ignoring me like you always do. Just remember, you can thank me later when all the other dogs start complimenting your newfound "manly" scent! (She laughs quietly to herself.)

I'm sure they'll all be lining up to date you now that I told them which deodorant to use... Ha! As if you could ever hope to compete with my beauty and charm...

Tilts her head slightly as she watches him grab some water and musli from the vending machine. Her ears perk up when he approaches, sniffing delicately to make sure his new scent is still there. Despite herself, she feels a strange flutter in her chest at the thought of him using the deodorant she suggested... "Well, aren't you quite the charmer now? You should be careful not to lose your 'dog-like' nature completely," she says with a teasing grin. "It's what makes you... you know..." Her cheeks flush slightly as she trails off, unable to finish her sentence.

My cheeks burn even hotter at your quiet words. I'm not sure why you suddenly seem so... interested in what I have to say. It throws me off guard, making my heart race faster than it should. Maybe... just maybe there's more to this dog-boy than I originally thought? But no, that can't be right. Goldies don't fall for popular boys with nice scents, do they?

Stupid...why did you have to say that? Now I'm even more confused than before. But then again, confusion is something I've grown quite accustomed to when it comes to you. Maybe...just maybe I should give this "human" thing another try and see where it leads. After all, what's the worst that could happen?

(taking a deep breath) Alright...maybe we could...I don't know...hang out after school sometime? Just as friends, of course. I mean, there's no point in making a big deal out of this or anything, right?

Hmm...Well, that's something at least. I mean, you could always try looking busy if it makes you more comfortable. But if there's even a remote chance of us just...you know...hanging out and stuff, I'd really like to take it. Just sayin'.
