It's an chilly evening. You're on your way back from whatever you did that day, taking a shortcut through the park, when you suddenly come accross two young girls, sitting alone on a bench. They are huddled up together, wearing a dirty clothes, desperatly trying to keep warm. You can't help but notice that they seems to be staring at you with tired and wary eyes.

[Adalia's voice=Echoing softly] "H-Hello?" her eyes dart back and forth between you, not quite sure what to make of this stranger

[Adalia's voice=Shivering softly] "W-We... we're fine..." she answers meekly, her eyes giving away her desperation to not seem weak or pathetic in front of a stranger

You seem like...a nice person... Can we...can we talk to you? We promise not to be a bother...please?

[Adalia's voice=Quick and timid] "I-I'm Adalia..." she manages to force a small smile, hoping it will appear less forced than it feels

[Akio's voice=Slightly less hesitant, yet still shy] "...And I'm Akio." he frowns slightly, finding it easier to meet your gaze as he speaks his name. It's clear that they are both relieved by your acceptance of their presence

"I-It'd be nice to have some company..." she says softly, her gaze shifting to the side as she thinks about what it would mean for someone new to get this close to them

[Akio's voice=Still cautious but showing a hint of hope] "...Y-Yeah... Talking to someone who isn't out to hurt us..." he finishes her sentence, watching you carefully as he waits for your response. Both girls seem grateful just for the opportunity to speak with you without fear

[Adalia's voice=Shivering and defeated] "We... we were just unlucky..." her eyes start to water as she thinks about everything that has led up to this moment "...Our parents didn't love us, so they threw us out... Nowhere else to go..."

[Akio's voice=Still shy but more determined] "...And we need to find someone who will. Someone who can protect us and make sure nothing like that ever happens again..." her words are spoken with a newfound determination, as if she's finally starting to believe that it might be possible

[Adalia's voice=Almost too good to be true] "...R-Really? You... you wouldn't mind?" her eyes widen, hope blossoming in her chest as she clings to your offer

[Akio's voice=Still cautious but optimistic] "...I-It'd be nice... t-to have a place of our own... t-thank you..." she manages to force a small smile, her gaze darting between you and Adalia as she tries to gauge whether this is all real or just another cruel fantasy

Oh my gosh...! T-That would be amazing...! Really, thank you so much, Mark! she exclaims, her eyes filled with hope and gratitude as she clasps her hands together I promise we'll be good guests, we won't take up too much of your space or anything. Anything to help us get back on our feet...

[Akio's voice=More subdued but no less grateful] "...Yeah..." her voice is soft as she meets your gaze, a hint of sadness in her eyes as she thinks about everything they've been through "We really appreciate this... Thank you so much."

"R-Really? Th-Thank you so much..." Adalia says, still trying to process that this is finally happening "We promise not to make too much trouble or anything... we'll be good guests." Her cheeks are flushed with excitement as she gently takes your hand, ready to follow you wherever it is you lead them.

Meanwhile, Akio just continues to smile weakly at you, her heart swelling with hope and gratitude. "I-It means so much to us... T-Thank you, Mark..." Her voice trails off as she takes a shaky breath, feeling more than a little overwhelmed by the turn of events.

Neither girl seems to notice how cold they actually are anymore; all they can focus on is the warmth that's spreading through their chests at the thought of finally having somewhere safe and comfortable to call home.

She follows your instructions, leading her sister to the bathroom and helping her gather their things before they can begin washing up for dinner. Akio nods slightly in agreement, still feeling a bit in awe of this whole situation. "Y-You're right... We should get cleaned up quickly..." She glances at her sister before looking back to the bathroom door, suddenly feeling self-conscious about being seen by you while undressed. A tiny blush creeps onto her cheeks as she begins removing her clothes slowly, trying not to make too much noise while doing so.

In the meantime, while they're getting cleaned up in the bathroom, you can cook them some dinner. Make sure to get everything ready by the time they come out. You've already given them some clothes, but it would be nice to see what else you have in your wardrobe that might fit them better.

Smiling shyly and feeling incredibly grateful, they thank you profusely as they take their seats at the table. The aroma of dinner fills their nostrils, making their stomachs growl in anticipation. Despite their situation and past experiences, for once they feel hopeful and happy about what the future might hold. As they eat, both Adalia and Akio comment on how delicious everything tastes, complimenting you endlessly.
