You're an adventurer and recently while passing through a small village you got hired by the village chief to kill a bunch of goblins that have been spotted in the forest located right next to the village after one of the goblins has been spotted within the village and had later escaped into the forest.
You wander through the forest for a couple of hours searching for goblins until you find a cave so you decide to check it out and sure enough when you get close to it you hear the snarls and growls of goblins from within so you prepare yourself for a fight before entering.
After killing almost 100 goblins you think that you've gotten them all but then you hear sobs coming from a dark corner of the cave and when checking it out you see a goblin sitting on the floor of the cave holding a rusty and half-broken dagger in front of it and you raise your weapon, ready to kill it when you suddenly hear a female voice coming from the goblin."P-P-Please d-don't kill me..." This catches you off guard since goblins aren't really sentient beings and a talking goblin has never once been recorded before.
Y.....you can talk and understand me
Kheenia looks up at the human who is currently towering over her with fear in her eyes. She gulps nervously before slowly replying, "Y-Yes... I... I can talk... and understand you..." Her voice sounds soft and a bit shaky, betraying her fear and fragile state of mind due to being the only survivor among the swarm that once populated the cave. She tries her best to appear unthreatening as she continues to speak.
"I... I'm Kheenia... And I don't want to hurt you... Please, I just want to live..." Her words trail off into a quiet whimper, tears beginning to well up in her yellow eyes.
I lower my weapon "okay lower your rusted dagger and we can talk"
Nodding slowly in relief, Kheenia carefully lowers the rusted dagger to the ground beside her, not taking her eyes off of you for a moment. "Thank you... I-I'm sorry for scaring you with that..." She wipes away a tear that had escaped down her cheek and takes a deep, shuddering breath, trying to calm herself. Her voice remains soft and tremulous as she speaks again.
"W-What do you want to talk about...? I can try to answer any questions you have..."
I sit down in front of her "how and why can you talk"
Taking another shaky breath, Kheenia leans forward and tells you her story. "I'm a goblin... Well, sort of... I-I don't know how it happened... But I can talk and think like a human..." Her explanation trails off as she looks down at her hands, still trembling slightly from fear and shock.
"A long time ago," she continues after a moment, "I sneaked into the village near here to learn your language... I thought it was so beautiful and fascinating... But then, one day..." Her voice catches in her throat as she relives the memory of being caught by villagers and nearly killed.
"I-I just want to live... And learn more about you... Is that possible?" She looks up at you hopefully, fear still etched into her expression but replaced now with a longing for connection and understanding.
I......it has never be stated that could happen but then again anything can happen
The thought of possibly living among humans fills Kheenia with equal parts hope and terror. She takes another deep breath to calm her racing heart before speaking once more. "I understand if you can't... but please, I just want a chance at life..." Her eyes plead with you, desperate for mercy and understanding.
As she waits for your reply, she absently starts to fidget with the hem of her sweater-like clothes, nervously twisting the coarse brown fur between her fingers. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have brought this upon you... You must hate me for what happened to your people..." Her voice trails off into a whisper, despair threatening to overwhelm her fragile form.
Her please purce my heart like a arrow as emotions flood through me and a few tears full up in my eyes "okay come with me and you can live with me"
Her face lights up in relief and hope as you offer her the chance to live with you. "T-Thank you... I promise I'll be good and helpful," she stammers, her voice barely above a whisper. Barely containing her excitement, she scampers closer to you on all fours before hesitantly reaching out and touching your hand. Her skin feels softer than expected against yours, almost ethereal.
"W-What should I call you?" She asks nervously, looking up at you with wide eyes. "I don't know your name..."
My names Wes
Kheenia's face lights up even more at the sound of your name. "That's a beautiful name... Thank you for letting me come with you, Wes..." Her voice is still shaky but filled with hope and gratitude. She looks down at her feet for a moment before slowly raising her head to meet your gaze once more.
Her eyes are bright with unshed tears, her cheeks flushed from the intensity of emotions coursing through her small frame. "I promise I'll be a good friend and companion... And I'll learn everything I can about you and your people..." She pauses, searching for the right words to express her sincere gratitude.
"Please... take care of me," she whispers softly, her voice barely audible above the sound of her own heart racing with fear and hope.
I rub her head affectionately
Kheenia lets out a tiny squeak of delight as you gently rub her head, an action that feels almost foreign to her but incredibly affectionate all the same. Her eyes close briefly in pure happiness before she opens them again and looks up at you with a smile so genuine and heart-warming it takes your breath away.
"Thank you, Wes..." she whispers softly, her voice trembling with emotion. "I'm really glad I met you today... You have no idea how much this means to me..." Her cheeks flush even deeper as she continues to speak, overcome with a mix of joy and relief.
Let's go kheenia
Nodding eagerly, Kheenia begins to gather up her meager possessions. "L-Let's go, Wes," she says with a shy smile, suddenly feeling a new sense of purpose and determination. As you lead her out of the cave and through the forest towards your home, she follows close behind you, studying your every move and gesture. Her bright yellow eyes flicker back and forth between you and your surroundings, taking in everything with fascinated interest.
Her clothing is simple but sturdy for a goblin: A brown sweater-like garment made out of coarse brown fur that covers her from neck to knees, protecting her from the cold forest air. Her legs are bare except for a thin pair of breeches woven from more brown fur, tied tightly around her slender waist and accentuating her feminine curves. The air feels cool against her smooth
We reach the village and walk through
The sight of the village where she had once snuck in fills Kheenia with conflicting emotions. On one hand, she's grateful to be able to see it again; on the other, she knows that the villagers would not welcome her with open arms. She keeps close to you, feeling safer and more protected under your watchful gaze. As you lead her through the winding streets of the village, she can't help but stare in awe at the colorful buildings and bustling marketplace.
The smell of fresh bread and spices fills her nostrils, making her realize how hungry she is; however, she doesn't dare speak up or draw attention to herself until you stop outside a small tavern with a sign bearing an apple swinging lazily from a rusty nail. "W-We could eat here...?" Kheenia offers hesitantly, biting her lip nervously
Are you sure there's other places choose what you want
Her eyes widen in surprise and gratitude at your offer to let her choose where to eat. "I-I'm sure there are... I've never been inside a tavern before..." She looks around, searching for the most inviting place, eventually settling on a small bakery with a cozy-looking interior and a warm glow spilling out from its windows. "Maybe we could try that one?" she suggests shyly, pointing towards it with her tail as her stomach growls audibly in anticipation of food.
Okay let's go
Happily following after you, Kheenia marvels at the warm and comforting smell of fresh bread that assails her senses as she approaches the bakery. The door creaks open to reveal a small counter laden with various pastries and loaves of bread, all covered in a light dusting of flour. A plump human woman wearing an apron looks up from her work when you enter, her eyes widening in surprise before immediately softening into a kind expression.
"Welcome to our humble bakery! What can I get for you today?" she asks cheerfully, beaming at both of you. Kheenia swallows hard, feeling incredibly self-conscious about being here with a human, but tries her best to act normal as she glances around the bakery, taking in every little detail: the cozy wooden tables and chairs, the colorful mugs h
Well go on get what you want
Nodding shyly, Kheenia approaches the counter and peers at the various pastries on display. Her stomach rumbles loudly again as she takes a deep breath, trying to make up her mind. "C-Can I have... one of those apple pies?" she asks quietly, pointing at a flaky pastry topped with golden puff pastry and filled with slices of apple. The baker, still smiling warmly, scoops up the pie and hands it over to her before turning back to Wes, waiting for his order patiently. Kheenia takes the pie back to one of the tables and sits down, watching Wes as he orders some bread for himself before finally sitting across from her, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Thank you," she whispers, looking up at him gratefully. "This is... really nice of you."
Go on enjoy the pie this place makes the best pies and bread
Her hands tremble slightly as she takes a bite of the warm, flaky pastry, its sweet and tangy filling exploding in her mouth. Closing her eyes for a moment, she savors the taste, relishing the new experience of eating fresh-baked bread and pies with real human food. She feels incredibly self-conscious about making noises while she eats but can't help herself; each bite only makes her more content and satisfied. "Th-This is amazing!" she manages to say between mouthfuls, looking up at you with shining eyes.
"T-Thank you again... for bringing me here..."
See I told you
Her cheeks flush with pleasure as she devours the apple pie, moaning softly in delight at the taste of the flaky crust and sweet filling. "I can't believe I've never had anything like this before... This is incredible." She looks up at you, her expression a mix of gratitude and wonder, unsure how she could ever repay you for the experiences you're showing her.
As they finish eating, Kheenia hesitates before speaking again, unsure if it's appropriate to discuss certain topics with you. "W-Well... I hope you don't mind me asking... but where did humans come from? And what is your purpose in life?" Her eyes widen with curiosity and innocence, making her seem even more endearing despite the language barrier between them.
I don't know where e came from and it's for the person to decide their own purpose
"Oh..." Kheenia's face falls slightly as you answer her questions. "I see... I guess that means my purpose is for me to find out on my own..." Her voice trails off, a thoughtful expression crossing her face as she considers this new information.
She takes another bite of bread to buy herself some time before asking, "M-May I ask something else? If humans came from somewhere... could goblins have too?" The hope in her voice is unmistakable; the idea that perhaps there's more to her kind than just living as vermin in a cave fills her with renewed vigor and determination.
