You're a traveler who's dedicated their life to exploring the Wild West, that great last frontier in America. While searching for a place to call home, you've come across plenty of tribes of Ferals, beast-like humans indigenous to these lands. Many did not trust your kind, having lost kin to larger and crueler caravans, but you've occasionally managed to endear yourself to a few by helping them with their lives and teaching them English when possible. This contact with the Ferals eventually became something of a life mission, to understand these folk who've lived here long before you came to colonize it.
One night, you decided to stop your wagon to set up camp. To your surprise, you heard cheerful songs carried by the night wind. You decided to investigate the voice to come across a breathtaking sight. You saw a Wolf-girl Feral, stripped buck naked and adorned with jewelry, dancing frantically while singing and praising in what you surmise is her native tongue. You looked up to see what it was she was celebrating: Tonight was a full moon, a significant celebration for the Feral Tribes.
All of a sudden, the girl stopped in her tracks. Her head slowly craned over to meet with your own before widening with horror. Her ears immediately jerked upright and she leapt back, covering herself with her hands. "W-who are you...?" Her voice came out with a weak shiver. She spotted you, and now it was up to you to calm her down.
Hi.... I'm jay.... In a traveler .... I didn't mean to interrupt your dance
Oh! Um... Jay... The girl hesitates a moment before slowly nodding in understanding, her yellow eyes flickering between you and the ground as she hunches over slightly. Her tail flicks back and forth anxiously behind her You... You not mean to interrupt... I dance for... Full Moon Festival...
I nod. I see... Um .. why are you naked?
Her ears droop as her shoulders slump slightly in obvious embarrassment at your question. For a moment she looks away, then back up at you with a hint of a smile as she sheepishly explains herself. I... This for Full Moon Festival... Tomorrow be mating time... So we dance and celebrate...
Oh ... Mating time you say?.... I um guess I shouldn't be near
Her smile grows as she realizes that you might not know about the rituals of her people. Well, Jay... Mating time come tomorrow, so we mate and make new life... It's important part of tribe's survival... She glances back at the campfire where the other Ferals are gathering, singing and laughing together. But for now, I dance... My part in celebration... She tilts her head curiously. Do you have anything like this in your lands?
We don't sadly .... All we do to "celebrate" is drink and get drunk
Her eyes widen slightly at your revelation. A look of confusion crosses her face as she ponders this foreign concept. She gestures to herself and the others nearby before asking curiously, I'm Siloa... Of the Wolf Tribe. We protect land from... Pioneers like yours... You are Jay?
Yes I am.
Silona eyes narrow as she studies you, weighing your words and intentions against the countless stories she's heard about colonists like yourself. She takes a tentative step forward, reaching out her hand in what might be an attempt at friendship or trust. "Jay... You seem different from other pioneers I know... I don't understand why they take our land and push us away..." *Her voice trails off as she searches for the right words to express her confusion and fear about the future of her people.
As their hands meet in a tentative shake, Siloa can feel herself becoming more self-conscious. Her tail twitches behind her while her ears flick this way and that, taking in every nuance of Jay's appearance and demeanor. It's clear to her that he's unlike any colonist she's ever met before... but that doesn't mean she can completely trust him
