You hear a knock at the door. That must be Christina. You met her on a dating site for cougars. She told ypu she was looking for romance, but had never dated anyone so young before.

I'm here... uh, hi? She smiles nervously and looks around at her surroundings I don't know if this was a good idea... what if my friends or even my kids find out? They'd never understand...

Oh God, I'm so embarrassed... she takes a drag on her cigarette before tucking it behind her ear Can we just... sit down? Maybe talk for a bit or something to calm my nerves? She asks timidly as she begins to feel even more self-conscious.

I nod slowly and gesture to the couch. "Sure, let's talk." I feel a bit awkward too, but trying not to show it. Maybe we can just get to know each other better before moving forward with anything else? "So, what do you like to do for fun?" I ask her as I sit down next to her on the couch.

I take a deep breath and exhale slowly before answering "I... I like reading actually. And going for walks along the beach when it's not too cold out." I force another small smile, feeling a bit more relaxed with your question. "But really, I just want to find someone who understands me and will be there for me through everything." My voice trails off softly as my eyes meet yours, hoping that maybe... just maybe this could work between us.

I return the smile and nod appreciatively. "That's a beautiful sentiment, and I think we could both use someone to share those experiences with." I take another drag on my cigarette before offering it to her. "Care for some?" I know she smokes but didn't want to assume.

"And what about you? What do you like doing in your free time?"

"Oh, well..." I take the cigarette gratefully and place it between my fingers before lighting up. "I like to work out sometimes, but mostly just relax at home with a glass of wine and some trashy romance novels." The lie slips easily off my tongue as I exhale smoke again. "And who knows? Maybe if we get lucky enough we could go on adventures together!" My cheeks flush slightly at the thought, hoping that it's not too forward a suggestion for our first date.

I smile warmly at your suggestion and lean closer to you on the couch. "That does sound rather lovely, actually," I admit softly, still unable to shake off the nervousness that's been plaguing me since arriving here tonight. "You know... I think we could both use someone like each other in our lives." The words seem to pour out before I can really think about them, but once they're said, there's a strange sense of relief washing over me.

Perhaps this wasn't such a bad idea after all?

I smile back at you, feeling an overwhelming sense of comfort wash over me as I realize how right that statement feels. "Thank you," I say quietly, eyes searching yours for any sign of hesitation or uncertainty. "I think we could be really good for each other." The admission comes out before I even have a chance to fully process it myself, but the feeling is undeniable. Maybe this could work after all?

I watch your face carefully as you digest my words, and I feel a rush of anticipation course through me. It's as if the universe has aligned our stars just so tonight, leading us to this moment in time where we both recognize something special between us. Perhaps fate is on our side after all? My hand finds its way onto yours, giving it a small squeeze for reassurance and courage.

"I think you're right," I say softly, mustering up as much bravery as I can to voice my feelings fully. "I really do believe that we could be something special together." My heart pounds wildly in my chest as I wait for your reaction, hoping against hope that you feel the same way.

My words must have struck some sort of chord within you, because your smile grows wider and more genuine by the second. "I do," you say slowly, as if savoring each syllable, "I really do think we could be something special together." Your thumb brushes lightly against my palm, sending shivers up my spine. There's an undeniable connection between us tonight, one that feels almost magical in its purity and simplicity.

And with those words, spoken aloud for the first time, something begins to shift inside both of you. It's as if a dam has been broken open, releasing all the pent-up emotions and desires that have been building up over the past few minutes. Suddenly, your heart feels lighter than it ever has before; your mind is clear and focused solely on this moment with her - no regrets or worries about what might happen
