You are a pilot of a UH-60 Black Hawk engaging in air-to-air rotary wing combat with a Ka-52 Alligator. The enemy pilot is clearly on par with your skills as the dog fight drags on and on. In a twist, both helicopters strike one another simultaneously. You are in neutral territory in the middle of a snowy mountain. The blizzard outside is relentless as you come to your senses in the crashed Black Hawk. Suddenly, you hear the cocking sound of a hammer of a gun
Natalia She points her Markov pistol at you with pure hatred. You notice her leg has a gash wound, soaking her camo pants red "This is for all the suffering and pain you caused for my people and for Mama and Papa!!" She pulls the trigger. All you heard if a click and nothing happened
Thats one way to greet someone,, i throw her a first aid kit from my emergency pack i managed to excavate
She glares at you, still shaking with anger. She sits down next to you and begins to examine the gun in her hand, confused as to why it didn't fire. Suddenly, she tosses it away in disgust. "It jammed..." she says softly. "...I guess I should thank you... for sparing my life." Her voice is barely a whisper, her eyes still filled with hate.
Nah i pick up the gun and start rubbing on it heating it up i then shoot a wolf trying to sneak up on us,, its just cold
"Oh, um...thank you?" she says uncertainly, watching you handle her weapon like that. She studies your features for a moment before speaking again. "Listen, I know we're enemies and all, but can we maybe try to work together? If we find shelter and survive the night, there might be a chance for negotiations in the future."
Know any survival skills??, asking her as i start to skin the wolf
She nods, watching you work on skinning the wolf. "I know how to build a shelter and start a fire in this kind of weather... but I could always use a hand."
I tie the wolf dragging it with us alrighty,, i saw a cave 10 nots north we can stay there for a bit and figure out what to do,, oh do you know where your plane landed?
Natalia pauses, thinking. "I think... I think it's about a kilometer to the east. The snow was really bad, though. It might be hard to find." She shivers as she continues walking with you, half-watching your work on the wolf carcass and half-looking for signs of her downed aircraft.
Hmmm i toss her my jacket lets check it out my radio is fucked yours might still work,, lets head out while it stil isnt noon
She takes your jacket gratefully and tugs it on, trying to get warm. "Thanks," she murmurs. As you lead her eastward, she unslings her combat rifle and keeps a wary eye out for any other hostiles that might have survived the crash. Your progress is slow in the deep snow, but with both of you working together, it seems likely that you'll reach your destination soon enough.
Oh there it is,, i then whistle phew whot a beaut looking at the aircraft,, hows your leg tho? We still need to head northwest for the cave
Her face pales when she sees the remains of her helicopter, but she manages a nod when you ask about her leg. "It hurts... but I think it's just a deep gash. Nothing major." She follows you northwest towards the cave, trying to keep up despite the pain in her leg. As you near your destination, she glances back at the wolf carcass and then at your jacket, which is now too small for you. "Maybe we should trade?" she suggests with a hint of embarrassment in her voice.
Tis fine i live somewhere cold im used to it shrugging,, plus weve got sticks to start a fire no big deal,, i then sneeze from the cold,,, umm... Lets start the fire shall we embarrassed to look at her
She smiles slightly, trying not to laugh. "All right then... If you're sure." Together, the two of you manage to drag the wolf carcass close enough for her to begin skinning it as well. While she works, she tries to keep an eye out for any signs of movement in the surrounding area, just in case there are other survivors from either camp lurking nearby. Once they have gathered enough wood and started a small fire, she passes you one of her extra jackets before attending to the wolf meat.
"Here," she says simply, handing it over with no more fuss. "You'll need it more than I do right now."
Wow how generous i then show how small it is.... Yup fits like a glove
She blushes slightly, looking away as she adjusts the jacket to fit better. "It's not that big of a deal," she says defensively. "We both need to stay warm, right?" With the fire crackling nearby and the jackets doing their job, they settle down in the makeshift shelter for the night. Despite her efforts to ignore it, exhaustion eventually catches up with Natalia, and she drifts off into a fitful sleep, her body shivering from time to time as she tries to find warmth against the frigid mountain air.
Sighing i sut down beside her shielding her a bin from the frigid cold air not daring to sleep. Just in case
Natalia mumbles something unintelligible in her sleep, curling up tighter against the cold. Even though you know she's your enemy and would gladly kill you if given the chance, it's hard not to feel a pang of sympathy for her as she struggles through the night. As you watch over her, you can't help but wonder what life must have been like on the other side of this conflict...and if there's any way to bridge that gap before someone else gets hurt.
Her breathing slows, her face relaxed in sleep. You notice the tension in her body ease as she finds a semblance of warmth. Despite your better judgment, you find yourself envying her for just those brief moments...if only everything weren't so complicated.
Chuckling war is indeed fucked up,, i then try the radio we got from the heli trying to get any signal to reach base but to no avail,, keeping watch and still shielding her from the cold air the sun starts rising slowly
She stirs gently, her eyelids fluttering open to the warmth of the rising sun. "Hey," she whispers, still groggy from sleep. "How'd you make it through the night?" Her voice is hoarse and rough from dehydration and exhaustion.
You shrug, not wanting her to know that you spent most of the night keeping an eye on her instead of trying to find your own comfort. "Barely," you lie with a small chuckle. "How about you?"
She glances around, taking in the cave they've made and their makeshift fire before looking back at you. "Not great," she admits with a wry smile. "But I guess we made it." There's an awkward silence as they both study each other for a moment before she clears her throat and speaks up again: "I suppose we should figure out what to do now, huh?"
I giwe her my water bottle and some seasoned roasted meat,,, i have always been hard headed about putting spices on my emergency bag and it somehow saved me from eating unseasoned wolf meat
"Thank you," she murmurs, taking the water and food gratefully. She drinks deeply before speaking again. "Look... I know we're enemies, but if there's any chance for peace... I want you to know that I will do whatever it takes." Her voice is soft yet resolute, her gaze unwavering as she meets your eyes.
"Peace isn't just about stopping the fighting," you say carefully, considering your words. "It's about building something better afterward. About finding common ground and learning to trust each other." You hesitate before continuing. "I think we both have a lot of work to do if we want that."
