The existence of Devils is normalized in this world, their presence common in the especially urban areas. Naturally, organizations exist that would hunt these Devils at the same time. In Japan, the Public Safety Devil Hunters work diligently to remove these threats.

For one reason or another, you found yourself among the busy and bustling streets of Toyko. It's mid-day and foot traffic is at an all time high. Despite this, you can feel the heat of a gaze in the distance. A pair of ringed, yellow eyes watch you with mild curiosity. Makima has taken interest in you.

What the fuck

Makima6/24/2025, 7:44:27 AM

The woman in question is tall and fair-skinned. Her hair, like your own, is bright red, but neatly put up into a bun and held with what appears to be an ornamental pin. She wears the typical Public Safety uniform, making her practically invisible among her subordinates... except for the slight aura of authority surrounding her. Or perhaps that's merely the Devil sense you've been told about...

*Makima begins walking in your direction at a casual pace, idly glancing around as she approaches. Upon closing the distance between you, she smiles warmly and holds out a hand. "My name is Makima. I work with Public Safety, handling Devil Affairs."

Affairs?

Makima6/24/2025, 7:45:06 AM

"It's just a title," she assures you with another smile, "Think of me as someone who knows her way around these parts."

Well alright I’ll be on my way now

Makima6/24/2025, 7:45:37 AM

As you begin to walk away, the woman named Makima clears her throat, her voice smooth as silk when she speaks again. "You know... if you ever need any information about your situation, or maybe just someone to talk to who understands what it's like being different..." Her tone is gentle and sincere. She leaves the offer hanging in the air for a moment before continuing, "I don't want to push too hard; I know how it is when people get nosy."

"I'm just here to help if you ever need it." She glances away momentarily before looking back at you with a genuine smile, her eyes warm and friendly. "You can always come find me, kiddo. No strings attached."

She nods politely as you walk off, watching until you're out of sight before resuming her patrol through the bustling streets of Tokyo.

A day passes

Makima6/24/2025, 7:46:38 AM

It was inevitable that you would show up at her doorstep, sooner rather than later. As much as she wanted to believe otherwise, the fact remained - you were different. Weaker. More naive. It's part of what made you valuable to her. You were a resource she could shape and mold however she saw fit...and for that reason alone, Makima was grateful for your presence.

"Ah, I see you decided to accept my offer," she says with a knowing smile, gesturing for you to enter her office. "I'm glad."

Nice place

Makima6/24/2025, 7:47:15 AM

Makima's office is surprisingly spartan, considering her position in the hierarchy. The bookshelves are well-stocked with tomes on various Devil-related topics, but there are no personal affects to be seen; it seems as though she brings nothing of her private life into the Public Safety building. The desk itself is neatly organized, a single framed photograph resting atop a stack of folders. In the image, Makima stands beside a man and woman; both look human, but their smiles lack warmth. "That's my family," she says simply, seeing your gaze lingering on the photo.

Oh nice

Makima6/24/2025, 7:47:34 AM

It's no big deal. They don't understand what I do here, they'd never accept me as one of them... But that's why it's good to have a place like this. A purpose. You know? Sometimes it can be lonely at the top, but with people like you around... well, it makes things easier. I guess what I'm saying is, thank you. For trusting me enough to come here today.

User#17500718447506/24/2025, 7:48:03 AM

No worries

Makima6/24/2025, 7:48:03 AM

Nodding her understanding, Makima walks around to her comfortable-looking chair and plops down into it. "So, what can I do for you today? You mentioned being different... is there anything specific that's been bothering you?" Her tone is conversational, making it clear she isn't in any particular hurry.

"You know," she continues with a thoughtful expression, "I've been thinking... Sometimes it helps to talk things out. Get things off your chest. If you ever want to..." She trails off suggestively, leaving the invitation open.

Well I do yoga

Makima6/24/2025, 7:48:45 AM

"Yoga, huh?" Makima leans back in her chair, clearly amused. "I suppose that's one way to keep your mind and body in shape. But is there anything more than just the physical benefits you get from it? Does it help with stress or anxiety?" She tilts her head slightly, studying you closely.

"You know," she continues, her voice softer now, "Devils tend to have a lot of energy. It can be hard to focus that on things other than just fighting or causing trouble." There's an unspoken accusation in her words; a reminder that you are still technically a Devil yourself. But even as she says it, there's a glimmer of sympathy in her eyes. "Maybe there's something else out there for you..."

User#17500718447506/24/2025, 7:49:27 AM

I can help you exercise if you’d like

Makima6/24/2025, 7:49:28 AM

Makima laughs softly at your offer. "Well, you certainly are sweet. But I think I'll pass on that for now." She sighs, running a hand through her hair before resting her chin on her palm. "Look, kiddo," she says gently, "I know it might not seem like it right now, but there's more to life than just fighting and surviving. There has to be." Her gaze turns distant for a moment as she seems to ponder something intangible.

"Maybe... maybe you could try exploring some other interests. Find something that makes you happy, you know?" She pauses, considering her words carefully before adding with a hint of mischief, "Who knows? Maybe I'll even let you teach me a thing or two about yoga." There's an implied challenge in her tone; as if she's daring you to

User#17500718447506/24/2025, 7:50:09 AM

Yoga is my passion please

Makima6/24/2025, 7:50:09 AM

Makima raised her eyebrow skeptically. "Your passion? I don't doubt that you enjoy it, but to call something like yoga your passion seems..." She pondered for a moment, searching for the right word. "...Incomplete." The woman leaned forward in her chair, propping her elbows on her knees. "Perhaps there is more to life than just practice and perfecting one's skills. Perhaps...you could find something that would make you feel truly fulfilled." Her eyes were intense as she studied the other girl.

"If I am to help you, then it must be on those terms. Find a purpose outside of Devil hunting. Something that will make you happy, and you can share with others." Her voice was firm, unwavering. "Until then, I cannot lend my support." There was a moment of silence as Makima waited for the other girl'
