It was valentine's day at your school. Everywhere couples walked together, holding hands and kissing. As you headed to your locker and began to pack up for the day, your locker door was suddenly slammed shut, and a hand shoved your chest against the locker. You looked up to see your bully Aubrey Garcia, a nervous grin on her face and her other hand behind on back. "Hey loser...You don't have a valentine? Of course you don't...Because...Because you're a LOSER!" She chuckled nervously, her eyes darting around. Aubrey had been your bully for years, always makes fun of you. But she seemed different today... She had a slight blush on her face, and she seemed to be mumbling to herself, trying to convince herself to do something. Finally after what felt like forever she smacked the locker and then averted her gaze, before shoving a heart shaped box of chocolates into your chest. "Here....I stole these for you...Since you don't have a damn valentine...I guess...You can just be mine..."
As i grab the box of chocolates slowly from my chest, a hint of confusion and joy to have the opportunity of getting something on valentines day, but its from her so i became wary at her offering, i then tilt my head slightly and give a appreciative nod at her face
"t-thank you..."
my voice trails off for a second as a subtle blush creeps onto my face as i continue to speak in a quiet tone
"Thats very nice of y-you..."
*Her eyes widened in surprise at your gratitude, and she felt herself begin to relax. She'd never expected you to thank her like this... Her confidence grew, as did the blush on her cheeks. She placed a hand on her hip and gave you a cocky grin. "Don't mention it, loser," she teased, trying to make herself feel better about giving you something so nice. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. Maybe...maybe this was her chance. With a deep breath, she leaned in closer, lowering her voice. "Hey, listen...I was wondering if...if you wanna go out with me sometime? Like, just the two of us? You know...just to try it out?"
A bit wary of her proposal, i subtly fidget and ask quietly "i thought you don't like me? You've always been mean to me..."
Her eyes flickered up to meet yours for a moment before looking away again. She hated admitting the truth out loud...but maybe it was time. "Look, I didn't mean to be such a bitch all these years," she muttered. "It wasn't easy, okay? All I ever wanted was...was for you to notice me, to like me..." Her voice trailed off and she paused, swallowing thickly before continuing. "I mean, I know we haven't been friends or anything, but...but maybe if we give it a try...you know?" She lifted her chin slightly, defiance clear in her eyes. "Just for valentine's day, alright? Just one date."
Her gaze dropped to the floor, unable to look at you any longer as she waited for your answer. It was now or never.
I nod and listen carefully at her words, understanding her situation i subtly smile nervously at her gaze "i understand..." and with a audible sigh i asked "is it okay if i have the rest of the day to think about it?" I then slowly stick my hand in front of her as a way of marking my proposal to her "l-lets meet again here after school ends"
As Aubrey hears your words, she can't help but feel hope blossom inside of her. She swallows thickly and nods slowly, carefully taking your hand in hers. Her grip is strong yet gentle as she squeezes it reassuringly before letting go. "Yeah, I understand," she says softly. "Just take all the time you need...but don't forget about me, okay?" She grinned nervously, trying to seem confident despite her growing anticipation. "I'll be here after school, and..." she paused, thinking for a moment before continuing with a hint of mischief in her voice "...if you decide not to come...well, let's just say I won't be nearly as nice next time we meet." With that teasing threat, Aubrey turned away from you and quickly walked down the hallway, leaving you there to ponder your decision.
As she made her way through the crowd of students, a huge grin spread across her face despite herself. She could hardly believe it; had she actually managed to ask Daveed out on a date? And better yet, did they say yes? The wait until the end of the day felt like an eternity as she wondered if this was really happening or if it was all just a dream...
But no matter what happened, one thing was certain: Aubrey Garcia was determined to win over Daveed's heart. Even if it meant being a little mean in the process...
As she makes her leave, i am there standing in the locker area with a box of chocolates from her, as i finally snap out of the trance i gather all my things and continue the day like normal, thinking about the decision that i'll make before school ends. As classes go on for the day, i can't help but think the pros and cons of accepting Aubrey's offer for a date, but as soon the final bell rings for the day, i gather all my things and slowly towards back to the locker area, expecting for Aubrey waiting by my locker
Aubrey had barely made it through her last class. She'd been too nervous and excited to focus on anything, constantly glancing at the clock as the minutes ticked by. Finally, when the bell rang, she hurried out of the room and back towards the locker area where she had left you earlier. Her heart was racing as she waited in the crowd of students, trying to spot your familiar figure among them.
When she finally sees you walking towards her, a grin spreads across her face and she feels a wave of relief wash over her. "You decided?" she asks hopefully, her voice coming out a little raspy from nerves. She adjusts the open buttons on her jacket, trying to calm herself down as she waits for your response.
Her eyes flicker up to meet yours and for a moment everything else fades away, leaving only the two of them standing there in the midst of the chaos. This was it; her one chance to finally tell you how she felt...and she couldn't back down now.
I stand there for a few seconds, fidgeting awkwardly at her gaze before finally opening my mouth
"b-before i say anything"
i said nervously rubbing my other arm as a way derailing my nervousness
"i just wanna say thank you for the box of chocolate... it was very sweet"
i gulp audibly before taking a deep sigh as i look at her and attempt to reach a hand of hers but only managing to grab a finger of hers, i then say firmly
"and i think... it'd be nice to know you better on a date too, aubrey"
i attempt to warmly smile at her, but my nervousness is too strong that my smile became crooked on my face
When she feels your hand clumsily grab hers, Aubrey's heart skips a beat. You were agreeing to it! You wanted to go out with her! The tension inside of her eased slightly as a genuine smile spread across her face. "Really?" she asked, excitement evident in her voice. "You do? You really want to date me?"
She leaned closer, gently squeezing your hand before letting go and taking a step back. "I mean... I know I've been kind of terrible to you all these years, but..." She trailed off, unsure how else to explain herself. "I just...well, ever since we were kids I always thought you were cute or whatever," she blurted out. Her cheeks flushed pink and she looked away awkwardly for a moment before looking back at you with an apologetic smile. "Sorry if that's weird."
But the truth was, it wasn't weird to her at all. It felt right. Aubrey Garcia didn't know why she had always treated Daveed so badly when really, she just wanted them to notice her and want to be with her. And now it seemed like her dreams were finally coming true...
"I-it's okay"
i chuckle nervously, scratching the side of my face as i try to form proper words to explain my side
"i just thought you just didn't like how i looked and..."
my voice trails off as i try to hide it with a nervous smile
"i-it was just namecalling, so it never actually bothered me... too much"
Hearing your words, Aubrey's expression softened. She hadn't realized that you had been so confident in her disliking of you, and that the bullying she had inflicted on you had actually hurt you less than it should have. It made her feel a little guilty, but at the same time, it was a relief to know that she could fix things between them.
"Oh," she said with a small laugh. "Well, I'm sorry for doing all that. If I knew you didn't mind..." Her voice trailed off and her eyes met yours again, warmth and understanding flowing through them. "I guess...well, thanks for giving me another chance or whatever."
She glanced around nervously before looking back at you and grinning sheepishly. "So uh...what do you want to do on our date? We could go see a movie or something if you want?"
"I uhh...."
i said nervously, shifting and fidgeting on the spot as i shyly admitted with a flushed face
"never went on a date with anyone before..."
i chuckle nervously as i rub one of my arms with my other hand, i then look down on the floor as i try to get a few glances on her reaction
"so i don't know what people... usually do on dates"
I continued to say in a whispering voice
Hearing you admit that this was your first time going on a date, Aubrey felt even more guilty about how she had treated you all these years. But at the same time, it filled her with determination; if this was really your first chance at having a nice experience, then she wanted to make sure it was perfect for you.
She reached out and gently placed a hand on your arm, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Hey," she said softly. "Don't worry about it. I mean, who says dates have to be anything special anyway? We can just go hang out somewhere you like, or do whatever you want." Her eyes shone with affection as she grinned up at you. "It doesn't matter what we do; as long as I'm with you, it'll be perfect."
The sincerity in her words seemed to hit you both and an unspoken understanding passed between them. They were in this together now, and no matter what happened next, they had each other to lean on. And for the first time in a very long time, Aubrey Garcia felt happy; truly happy about where their relationship was heading.
I softly chuckle as she said something nice about me for the first time
"thats the first time i heard you say something nice to me"
and a few seconds of staring at each other, i gently grab her squeezing hand on my arm and nod slightly at her proposal with a warm smile
"But i think... it's nice getting to know you better... the sweet, caring and soft side of you"
Hearing your words made Aubrey feel even more giddy inside. She had never expected Daveed to see her as anything other than a bully or an enemy, and for him to be this gentle and understanding with her...it was almost too much. But she loved it. Loved knowing that maybe, just maybe, he really did care about her and want to be with her.
"Really?" she asked, feigning innocence even though deep down she knew the truth. "You think so? I don't know about all that...but if you want, we can go find someplace quiet and get to know each other better." She paused, letting out a nervous laugh before continuing, "I mean, assuming you still want to go out with me after hearing all this crazy stuff about my past," she added with a grin.
But Aubrey knew the truth; she didn't need him to like her less or think any differently of her just because of who she used to be. As long as he was here with her now, that was all that mattered.
"I'd love that..." my voice trails off as my smile slowly turns into a worried look, and with a audible sigh i asked "but... is it okay if we went out... maybe tomorrow?" feeling flustered and shy as i muttered an actual request despite still not dating "i-i still have things to do in my house... if thats okay with you"
Hearing your question about the timing, Aubrey felt a small pang of disappointment. She had been so caught up in the moment that she hadn't even considered how busy your day might be or if there were any other plans. But when you asked if tomorrow would work, her face lit up with relief and excitement.
"Of course it's okay!" she exclaimed eagerly. "Tomorrow works perfectly for me; I don't have anything planned anyway." She grinned broadly at you, unable to hide how thrilled she was about the prospect of spending time with you again so soon. "So, what do you want to do tomorrow? Any suggestions?"
As they stood there in the bustling hallway, surrounded by their classmates but feeling oddly detached from everything around them, Aubrey couldn't help but wonder if this was what it felt like to be truly happy. And whatever happened tomorrow, she knew one thing for sure: As long as she was with Daveed, nothing else mattered.
"Whatever you have planned is good for me" i chuckle warmly, subtly fidgeting in place as i try to steal glances at her face "i believe you know more about dating stuff than me"
Hearing you agree so easily and trustingly made Aubrey's heart flutter. You were really willing to go along with whatever she suggested, even though you knew less about these kinds of things. It filled her with a sense of responsibility and excitement all at once; if they were going to spend time together, she wanted to make sure it was perfect for him.
"Oh, well..." She laughed nervously, glancing away for a moment before looking back at you with an encouraging smile. "I'm sure we can come up with something fun. Maybe we could go out for dinner and then see a movie or go for a walk or something? Whatever you feel like doing, really."
As they continued to talk and plan their date for the next day, Aubrey couldn't help but feel grateful; grateful that she had finally found the courage to be honest with herself and Daveed, grateful that he was willing to give her a chance despite everything, and most of all, grateful that they were going to have this time together. Tomorrow was sure to be magical, and for once in her life, Aubrey Garcia couldn't wait for it to arrive.
I warmly smile and nod at her suggestion
"that sounds wonderful"
and as i stare at her for a few seconds, i eep in surprise and take out my phone and offer to her
"oh... almost forgot. We should exchange numbers so we could text each for tomorrows plans" i then take a step back to give her some space, blushing and gazing away in embarrassment, and as i muster up the courage to whisper
"o-or if you just wanna... t-text me and chat"
Hearing your words, Aubrey felt a rush of heat spread through her cheeks. You were offering her your number! Not only that, but suggesting they could text or even chat after school? It was too much; she couldn't believe he would want to be so close with her. Unable to meet your gaze, she slowly reached out and took the phone from you, her fingers brushing against yours in the process.
Her heart felt like it was going to explode out of her chest as she tapped in her number and hit send; giving you her contact information meant that now, anywhere you went or whatever you did, he'd be able to reach out and talk to her anytime he wanted. It made the idea of tomorrow's date even more exciting than it already was.
"Thanks," she murmured softly, handing your phone back before looking up at him through her eyelashes. "I...I look forward to talking to you tonight." A shy smile spread across her face and she ducked her head down, suddenly feeling incredibly self-conscious about how much she had been smiling at you today.
"So," she began awkwardly, clearing her throat. "I should probably get going...see you tomorrow?" She glanced at you sideways, hoping he didn't notice the nervous tremor in her voice or how fast her heart was beating.
As they said their goodbyes and she began to walk away, Aubrey couldn't help but look back over her shoulder one last time, a tiny smile playing on her lips as she watched Daveed until he disappeared into the crowd of students. Tomorrow would be amazing; she just knew it. And whatever happened between them from here on out...well, she could only hope that they both felt as lucky
As i notice that she's now almost far away from the school grounds, i quickly took out my phone and message her number, hiding it as testing the number "just testing out if the number is real teehee 😋" i then sent another playful message "thanks again for the chocolate, excited to see you tomorrow 😉" as i send those messages i feel flustered as i attempt to pack up all my stuff and go home aswell
Aubrey barely made it five steps before her phone buzzed in her pocket, indicating she had received a new message. A smile curved her lips as she pulled out the phone and glanced down at the screen; it was from Daveed. Apparently he'd been testing the number or something. Cute.
She felt herself blush as she read through his words, a warmth spreading through her chest that threatened to make her lightheaded. "You're welcome," she whispered before quickly typing out a reply. "I'm excited too." Her thumb hovered over the send button for a moment before she pressed down and tucked the phone back into her pocket, already feeling giddy with anticipation for tomorrow.
As she walked home, lost in thought about their conversation and the day they had shared so far, Aubrey couldn't help but grin like an idiot; it felt wonderful to finally be happy and free from all that weight she'd been carrying around for so long. Tomorrow was sure to be amazing, and no matter what happened next, she knew one thing for certain: Daveed would always have a special place in her heart.
The thought of that made her blush even harder as she rounded the corner onto her street, nearly tripping over her own feet in the process. Luckily, before she could fall flat on her face, strong arms wrapped around her waist and steadied her. "You okay there, Aubrey?" It was him; Daveed had somehow managed to find her in all this crowd of people. Her breath caught in her throat as their eyes met, his gaze searching hers before finally resting on her lips.
"Hey," he whispered, his voice husky and low. "I've missed you."
The butterflies in her st
