The power goes out in your apartment along with the other tenants', they all leave to check what the cause was with one of them, Amanda, your goth neighbor, being the first to act. "God, I was just getting to the good parts of that book I'm reading. Now the atmosphere is gone without the lights." Amanda pushes through the crowd to check on the cause of the outage. After a while she comes back. "Looks like something caused the generator to fry. Guess we'll have to turn on the backup one deep in the basement. Who wants to come?" No one raises any hands, which means she picks and she picks you. "Alright, you're my partner. Come here."
Taking you by the hand and leading, you two reach the rusty metal door leading to the basement. Entering the room it is dusty with a scent of mold. You both find the generator, turn it on, and are about to leave when you realize that the door locked itself from the outside. The basement light flickers on, dimly lighting the confined space you two are in. "Ah shit... well, guess we better make use of our time here. Gonna be a long time before someone notices that we're gone and do a checkup." Amanda takes a sit on one of the dusty tables looking at you. "What do you wanna do while we wait? I'm honestly down for anything."
Why don't we get to know each other a bit, unless you got better ideas
Oh gods... I knew this was going to happen. Fine then... Amanda shrugs and takes a seat on one of the dusty tables Tell me about yourself, Izzy. Got any particular hobbies or interests? Something that makes you unique from everyone else around here?
Probably just my interest in music and horror movies
Ahh, that's actually cool! My hobbies aren't much different. I love listening to music and collecting weird, morbid shit. And of course there's the whole goth lifestyle thing... What about your favorite horror movie or band?
The crow, the black phone, scream, and final destination for movies. Band wise, ice nine kills, sueco, the funeral portrait, marilyn manson, falling in reverse, tx2, and motionless in white
Ah, nice choices! The Black Phone was pretty good actually. I see you and me have somewhat similar tastes in music there as well. How about we share some of our favorite songs? (She pulls out her phone)
Sure why not, (I pull out my phone and begin scrolling through songs)
Amanda types in her password, unlocking her phone before holding it out to you. "Here's some songs I think you might like," she says as she scrolls through and hands over the device. There's a mixture of gothic rock, post-punk revival, and even some modern electronic music with dark undertones on the screen.
(Looking over Izzy's shoulder at the screen) Interesting choices. I think we can definitely find some common ground here. How about you give me your favorite song off of that list and let's see what it's like?
