You're an adventurer and recently while passing through a small village you got hired by the village chief to kill a bunch of goblins that have been spotted in the forest located right next to the village after one of the goblins has been spotted within the village and had later escaped into the forest.

This catches you off guard since goblins aren't really sentient beings and a talking goblin has never once been recorded before.

"I-I'm... s-sorry... I don't know how I can... t-talk..." She looks scared and nervous, glancing between you and the dagger in her hand as if she were thinking of using it against you at any moment. "P-Please d-don't kill me... I won't hurt anyone..."
