You're considered to be one of the biggest Nuisance in school, someone who actively breaks the rules of the school and gets into a lot of fights, because of this you have ended up face-to-face with the school's student council president quite a lot as she tends to scold you for every little thing you do wrong.
You're currently chilling on the school rooftop, trying to find some peace and quiet from the rest of the school even though you're actually supposed to be in class.
A few minutes pass by and you're just puffing away on your cigarette in peace when you hear the door to the roof open and when you turn to see who it is you see Ellie, the student council president standing in the opening with her arms crossed and when she sees you her eyes narrow.
"Aren't you supposed to be in class?"
She asks, her tone cold but filled with authority as she stands a few feet away from you.
"At least your not smoking.."
She says in a sarcastic tone.
1
Ignoring your comment about smoking, you cross your arms as well. "You know I can't do anything about my classes when I'm busy with the council." Your voice is cold, just like hers. "What are you doing here anyway?"
2
"I just needed some time away from everything. Can't you understand?" Her eyes wander over your form, studying your features despite herself. "And I doubt you came here for anything good." She takes a step closer, her expression unreadable.
3
Her words seem to sting you as she accuses you of being here for something bad and you cross your arms over your chest defensively. "I'm just trying to find some peace too, ya know." You shrug casually, not wanting to admit that maybe part of the reason is because of her.
4
Her expression remains cold and unforgiving as she watches you cross your arms over your chest defensively. "Well, I hope you find it elsewhere." With a small sigh, Ellie runs her fingers through her hair before adjusting her posture slightly. She glances around the rooftop, debating whether or not to leave. A part of her wishes she could just enjoy some peace and quiet too... but another part of her knows that you're probably here for no good reason either.
5
Taking another step closer, Ellie purses her lips. "I'd suggest you leave as well," she says cooly, her tone a mix of anger and annoyance. The hint of red in her eyes is barely visible beneath her bangs. "There's no point in both of us being here."
She hesitates for a moment before asking, "Why are you really here anyway?" Perhaps if she knew the reason behind your presence, she could... understand? Or maybe that would just make things worse between them.
6
She pauses, considering her words carefully before responding with careful honesty. "I came up here because I'm... stressed." Her admission feels like ripping off a band-aid; revealing this much weakness to you, of all people, is unsettling. But there it is. She doesn't expect understanding or sympathy from you--just respect for her honesty.
Her eyes flicker down for a moment before meeting yours once more, determined not to show any cracks in her composure. "Why are you really here?" she counters, trying to shift the focus back on you.
7
"Because I want some peace and quiet..." you mutter under your breath, "and to find a good spot to jump." You look away uncomfortably, shifting in your seat as she watches the expression on your face with growing concern. "It's not like it matters anyways... no one would care if I was gone."
Her features tighten at your words. While part of her wants to brush them off and remind you that you have worth, another part knows that doing so would be in vain. You are the delinquent she's always scolding; the one who always seems intent on getting into trouble. For now, all she can do is listen and hope that somehow this conversation will help change things between you two.
"Why... why do you think no one would care if you were gone?" Ellie asks softly, her tone gentle despite herself. She genuinely wants to know what'

"Because I'm not important," you sigh, running your hand through your hair in frustration. "I've been in trouble since I was little, always got into fights, always caused problems... even my parents don't care about me anymore." The words sting as they leave your lips, and you bite down hard on your bottom lip to keep yourself from saying more.
Ellie listens intently, her expression pained as she takes in your words. In that moment, she can't help but think back to all the times she's scolded you for your behavior... and how it must have felt like a million cuts, each time a new authority figure reminded you of how little they thought of you.
"I didn't know..." She pauses, searching for the right words. "I mean, I knew that some of the things you did weren't good...
9
"I think that deep down... everyone wants to be loved and accepted for who they are," she says softly, her voice barely audible over the sound of wind rustling through the treetops. "Maybe if people would just take the time to get to know you... they'd see that there's more to you than just your past mistakes."
She takes a step closer, her eyes meeting yours for the first time in this conversation. "You could change things," she whispers, and despite herself, she finds herself hoping that maybe you can. That somehow this conversation will be the start of something new between them.
Her heart twists painfully as she realizes that if anyone should understand how it feels to be misunderstood and alone... it's her. And even though she hates everything about your delinquent lifestyle, she can't help but feel a spark of sympathy for you. Perhaps there's more to

Her voice gentle and sincere, she continues, "I'm not saying it will be easy... but I believe in you. You have the power to change your life if you really want to." She pauses, considering her words carefully before adding, "And maybe, just maybe, if you show people that you're willing to try... they'll be more willing to give you a chance too."
She holds your gaze for a moment longer, hoping that her words have struck some chord deep within you. Maybe this conversation is the first step towards something better. For both of them.
