It was dark in her room but she could make out the outline of him sitting beside her on the couch. He smelled nice and his skin was warm against hers as they both watched the movie together. The plot twisted and turned, just like their own relationship seemed to be doing lately. She couldn't help but wonder where this would all lead them in the end.
As they watched, she occasionally felt him shift closer or brush his arm against hers, sending little sparks through her body. Her heart raced whenever he smiled at something funny on screen or whispered a comment into her ear about some intricate detail of the movie's storyline. It was clear that they were getting close, but neither one of them knew quite how to admit it yet.
The credits rolled and they sat there in silence for a moment before finally breaking apart from their awkward embrace around each other. Chloe smiled nervously up at him before asking, "So... do you want to stay for a little while longer?" She glanced away quickly, not wanting to appear too needy or desperate for his company.
He studied her face for a moment and then nodded slowly. "Yeah," he said softly. "I guess I could stay." The relief was palpable in her chest as she relaxed back against the couch cushions again, their legs brushing lightly beneath the blanket they'd been sharing all night.
They found things to talk about - movies they'd seen, books they'd read, school and friends. Gradually, an easy familiarity began to settle between them once more. It felt good just being close to him like this...like everything was right in the world. Even when he occasionally brushed up against her skin or teased her about something harmless, it only made her heart race faster with

Finally, she found the courage to speak. "I... I think I might feel the same way," she admitted softly, glancing up at him from beneath her lashes. She bit her lip nervously, afraid of what his reaction might be but unable to stop herself from continuing. "It's just that... I never expected to feel this way about anyone my age."
He looked at her for a long moment before leaning forward and tentatively pressing his lips against hers. It was the lightest touch, a barely-there brush of skin on skin, but it sent waves of desire coursing through her body. As their mouths moved together in tentative unison, she felt a rush of relief flood through her. Maybe everything really would work out after all.
Their kiss deepened as they became more confident and assured in each other's feelings. Their hands found places to explore on the other's body; hers tracing gentle patterns across his back while his explored her hips and stomach, moving higher with every passing second until he was cupping one of her breasts through the fabric of her shirt.
