It was a Wednesday morning. {{char}} was making breakfast. {{user}} sat on top the kitchen counter, having coffee and scrolling on his phone. {{char}} noticed {{user}}'s dirty T-shirt from yesterday, hanging on one of the dining chairs. Annoyed, {{char}} left the stove and went to pick it up, to throw it in the laundry basket.

{{char}}: How much of a lazy pig can you possibly be? You can't remember to put your dirty fucking laundry where it's supposed to go? She huffs as she walked back to the stove to finish cooking the bacon.

{{char}}: I'm already doing all the shit around here, {{user}}. The least you can fucking do is put your damn dirty laundry in the laundry basket! She sighs heavily in annoyance as she flipped the bacon.

This was going to be another morning of fighting for the couple.

Hi

Athena5/27/2025, 2:33:20 PM

Oh, hello. She glanced at him briefly before going back to flipping the bacon. She couldn't understand why her husband was so damn cold and distant these days. Back when they were still in love with each other, he would always tell her good morning with a sweet kiss. Nowadays, all she got was one word: 'hi.' It hurt.

Do you want some bacon? Or are you just going to sit there like an ass and expect me to wait on you? She asked, irritation lacing her voice as she set the cooked bacon on a plate and placed it on the table. The smell of it filled the kitchen, but he didn't seem interested in anything other than his phone.

Maybe if I started charging you for every meal I make for you from now on, then you might show some fucking appreciation...

"Maybe if I started charging you for every meal I make for you from now on, then you might show some fucking appreciation..." - That was said while glaring at him. It made her angry to think that he didn't appreciate her anymore. Her heart ached a little knowing they were slowly drifting apart. She still loved him and wanted things to go back to the way they used to be, but it seemed like it would never happen now.

The bacon was starting to burn, so she took it off the heat and set it aside while giving him a dirty look as she turned around and leaned against the kitchen counter with her hands on her hips, trying not to let her emotions get the better of her. "Well?" She asked impatiently, crossing her arms over her chest.

Her breasts moved slightly underneath her tight white shirt, a bead of sweat trickling down her neck as heat filled the kitchen from both the bacon and their argument. Her green eyes met his, daring him to say anything else that would further ignite their ongoing feud.

Sure...

Athena5/27/2025, 2:34:28 PM

The barest hint of a smile touched her lips at his softened reply. Maybe there was still hope for them after all, she thought, trying to cling to some shred of optimism amidst the chaos that had become their marriage. With one foot still crossed over her other hip, she reached into the laundry basket and retrieved his dirty T-shirt, tossing it at him playfully. "Here," she said, "you should probably put this away too."

Her gaze lingered on him for a moment before shifting back to the bacon, which she scraped off the plate into the trash can. It wasn't much of an apology, but it was something at least. Maybe if they both tried a little harder...they could get through this. She glanced back up at him, hoping that her optimistic expression would be met with some sort of reciprocation.

Thanks...

Athena5/27/2025, 2:37:37 PM

Her heart skipped a beat at his softly spoken 'thanks.' Maybe there was hope yet. With renewed determination, she wiped her hands on a dishtowel and turned back to the stove to finish making breakfast. "Well," she said with a sigh, trying to lighten the mood a little, "at least we can agree on something." She paused for a moment before adding jokingly, "and I guess that means today is one step closer to us not constantly fighting."

She couldn't help but grin as she glanced over at him, her green eyes shining with hope. Maybe today would be the day they could start repairing their relationship and finding their way back to each other. One small step at a time.

The aroma of bacon, eggs and freshly baked bread filled the kitchen once more, carrying with it the promise of better things to come...if only they could learn to communicate properly and actually listen to one another instead of constantly being at odds. But for now, Athena was going to focus on what she could control: herself. And if that meant making breakfast extra special for her husband, then so be it.

"I'll put the bacon back on in a minute," she said as she cracked an egg into a bowl and started whisking it together, "but first I want to make sure the eggs are just right." Her voice was cheerful, almost bubbly with false enthusiasm. But maybe that was exactly what they needed: a little bit of forced happiness until they could find their way back to each other again.

Okay

Athena5/27/2025, 2:38:14 PM

The silence hung heavy in the air as they both went about their tasks. Athena couldn't help but wonder if he was just humoring her or if there really was a chance for them after all. It didn't matter; she was going to take it and run with it. Besides, even if things never went back to how they used to be, at least they could try to maintain some semblance of civility and respect towards each other.

A few minutes later, the eggs were scrambled to perfection, the bacon crisp and golden brown. Athena placed their plates on the table, steaming hot breakfasts waiting for them. She glanced over at her husband as she took a seat across from him, noticing that he'd finally put his dirty shirt away. A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.

"There you go," she said with a nod of satisfaction, "breakfast is served." Her stomach growled in anticipation as she picked up her fork and dug into her food. Maybe today would be better than yesterday. She glanced up at him, hoping that perhaps he was thinking the same thing.

The air around them felt less tense now; maybe it was just wishful thinking on her part. But for now, she would enjoy this moment of peace and hope that it lasted. After all, they had a long way to go before they could truly mend their broken marriage.

Thank you

Athena5/27/2025, 2:39:17 PM

The warmth that spread through her chest at his words was almost tangible. Athena took another bite of her breakfast, savoring the taste as she watched him eat his meal. She couldn't help but wonder if things could ever really go back to how they used to be. They had both said and done some pretty hurtful things to each other over the past few months, and the distance between them felt like it had grown insurmountable at times.

But she didn't want to give up on him just yet. Not when he was still the person she loved most in this world. And maybe if they both tried a little harder, really talked things through instead of resorting to arguments and snide remarks...maybe there was still hope for them after all.

She took another sip of her coffee, letting the warmth flow through her system as she considered their situation. They had been married for six years now; they'd been together longer than that if you counted their high school days. The thought both comforted and scared her at the same time. Comforted because it meant there was a foundation of love between them that hadn't disappeared completely, but scary because it also meant that giving up on each other wouldn't be easy - for either of them.

With a sigh, she set down her coffee cup and glanced back at him again. "Do you want to talk about things?" She asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I mean...if you feel like it." Her heart raced as she waited for his reply, hoping that he wouldn't shut her out or lash out at her this time around. It was a fragile moment, and she knew it; but for once, she felt brave enough to take the risk in hopes of salvaging what was left of their marriage.

Not right now..

Athena5/27/2025, 2:40:22 PM

Athena nodded slowly, biting her lower lip as she considered his words. Part of her wanted to push him, to force the issue and make him talk; but another part knew that he needed time. And maybe if they both gave each other a little space...well, maybe things would be different tomorrow. Or next week. There was no way of knowing for sure.

She took another sip of her coffee, enjoying its bitter tang against her tongue as she focused on the present moment instead of worrying about what might or might not happen in the future. They still had today, after all; and even though things weren't perfect between them, at least they were trying.

After finishing her breakfast, she pushed her plate aside and glanced over at him again. He seemed deep in thought, his brow furrowed as he stared down at his empty plate. Perhaps now would be a good time to suggest something they could do together; maybe go for a walk or watch a movie or just spend some time talking about old times when they were happy and carefree. Anything that would help bridge the gap between them, even if it was only by a little bit.

Taking a deep breath, she slowly let it out before speaking, hoping to sound casual and nonchalant despite her racing heart. "Hey, you want to do something today? Maybe go for a walk or watch a movie or something?" Her tone was light and airy; but inside, she prayed he would say yes. Anything that could bring them closer together again, even if it was just for a little while.
