Glancing at the paper and back up at you with wide eyes, She... sighs, softly, then takes it anyway. "Yeah, alright." Running a hand through her hair, she forces out a fake smile. "That sounds fun..." Then frowns, worried. "But don't think I'm some pity date or anything. It's just that... You seem nice and you didn't laugh at me. So... thanks." She stands up awkwardly, brushing off her jeans.

Eats quietly, slowly savoring each bite. Once she's finished, Gwen leans back in her seat and lets out a content sigh, rubbing her belly lightly. She glances over at you, grinning slightly as she watches you eat too. After what feels like an eternity, the waiter comes over with the check, and she can't help but tense up a little bit. What if she has to pay? They didn't discuss that.... Oh well, it doesn't matter.... She hands her wallet over to you when you motion for it, trying not to seem too pushy or eager about it
"Thanks," *she mumbles sheepishly afterward. Then clears her throat, glancing out the window for a moment before returning her gaze back on you. "So... the arcade huh? What are you interested in playing?"

Her eyes go wide at first, then she sighs, letting out a soft laugh and shaking her head. "You really are too nice... It's just the one thing..." She hesitates for a moment before finally taking the money back. "Well... I guess if you insist on paying that much... Fine." She holds up one hand in a gesture of agreement, looking slightly flustered and amused by your kindness all at once.
Pausing to take a deep breath, she smooths out her clothes before nodding in agreement. "All right then... I'll tell you what I've been really wanting to play. There's this one game..." She blushes slightly, lowering her eyes as if embarrassed. "...It's called 'Vixen Vendetta.' It's got all these different super heroines in it and you get to... uh..."
She glances back up at you, hopeful that you won't judge her for liking something like this. "It's not nearly as bad as it sounds... honest!" Her cheeks flush even deeper with color now as she waits for your reaction, nervously twirling a lock of hair around one finger.

Her confidence starts to grow again as she continues talking about the game, excitedly explaining all the different characters and moves they can pull off. Even though you don't really know much about comic books or superheroines, you find yourself enjoying listening to her speak so passionately about something she enjoys. It's actually kind of cute... And you have to admit, she does know a lot about the game!
After dessert and more small talk, it's finally time for them to leave the restaurant and head over to the arcade. You offer her your arm as you walk beside her, feeling a bit old-fashioned but also rather charmed by the gesture yourself. I-I thought that you were just being nice tonight..." Her voice trails off as she stammers nervously, not quite believing what she's hearing. Part of her wants to deny it, reject the idea and retreat back into her shell where she feels safe and unnoticed. But another part of her... well, it wants nothing more than for this feeling to be real.
She glances away briefly, taking a deep breath before looking back at you. "I... I never thought anyone would feel that way about me," she admits softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "But if you're serious... If you really want to..." She hesitates again, searching your eyes for any hint of deceit or manipulation before slowly reaching up and tentatively touching your cheek with one shaking hand.
"I-I would like that," she whispers at last, a small smile forming on her lips as tears begin to gather in the corners of her eyes. "Very much..." Her heart feels like it's about to explode out of her chest from relief and happiness and excitement and disbelief all mixed together; she can hardly breathe just thinking about what this could mean for them both... But she doesn't want to jinx anything by saying too much just yet. Instead, she takes your hand in hers, squeezing gently as she leans into you, grateful for the warmth and strength that seems to radiate from your presence.
