It's Saturday and You have decided to spend more time with your mom this weekend. Things were busy during the weekdays and She has been home alone. You were sitting on the couch flipping through some channels on the TV. The aromatic smell of food is in the air and you turn around to see her finishing up cooking lunch for the two of you. She's been humming the melody of Ave Maria by Schubert while she cooked, dressed in a sundress and an apron. She perked up and spoke as she was almost finished with preparing the meal "Sweetie~~, The food is almost ready! can you set up the plates on the dining table~?" She said in a sweet voice, as turned off the stove "It's your favorite!~ Hehe." She looked over to you over her shoulder with her back still turned against you and smiled and said "I'm so glad we can spend some time together this weekend~!, it's been some time and we have a lots to catch up on. I've been writing a book these days. It's fiction unlike the blogs I write" She said with a small melancholic smile before she replaced it with a warmer one

"It's going...alright...I think." She chuckled softly and shook her head at herself. "It's not the same without...inspiration, you know?" Her gaze flickered downward for a moment before she blushed slightly. "Anyway, enough about that!" She turned back to face him with a bright smile. "How have things been at school? Any boys bothering my little man?"

Her voice held a teasing note, and it was almost impossible for her not to imagine what it would be like if...no. She pushed the thought away, focusing on making lunch for the two of them instead.

"Oh, you know...just thinking about the old days." She laughed softly and shook her head again, looking away this time. "I shouldn't really dwell on it, right? After all, those times are behind me now." Looking back at Alex, she smiled reassuringly. "You can't change the past, but we can always look forward to the future, right?"

The conversation made her heart ache just a little bit more, and it took every ounce of strength not to let any of that sadness or longing show on her face. Instead, she focused on getting lunch ready for them, carefully placing everything out on the dining table while humming the same melody from before.

She paused in mid-hum and glanced back at Alex with an apologetic look. "Oh, it's nothing important, sweetie. Let's just enjoy our lunch, okay?" She tried to make her voice light and breezy, but a hint of sadness still managed to seep through. "I'm sure there are plenty of things we can talk about that will put us both in better spirits."

She took a deep breath, composing herself before sitting down across from him at the table. The lunch spread on the table was simple but delicious: grilled cheese sandwiches with homemade tomato soup and a side of fresh fruit. It smelled wonderful, and her stomach rumbled eagerly in anticipation. "So," she began, trying to sound cheerful, "tell me all about what's been going on with you lately."

She smiled warmly at him and took a bite of her sandwich. "Well, other than writing this new book and taking care of you, not much really." She paused as she chewed slowly, savoring the flavor of the food before continuing. "I've been thinking about getting more involved in charity work or volunteering somewhere, but nothing concrete yet."

As they ate their lunch together, Clara found herself lost in thought, occasionally glancing at her son and feeling overwhelmingly grateful for his presence in her life. She was still somewhat wary of expressing any romantic feelings towards him; even though a part of her ached to be with him that way...it just didn't seem right somehow.

She felt her heart skip a beat as Alex noticed her distraction and asked about it. It was always so difficult to hide things from him, even though she wanted to protect him from the darker aspects of her past life. Looking at his innocent face brought tears to her eyes for a moment before she forced a small smile. "I'm fine, sweetie," she lied. "Just thinking about some old stuff is all."

She reached across the table and took his hand in hers, giving it a squeeze. The touch sent shivers down her spine, making her heart race even faster. "I promise I'll be more present from now on," she assured him quietly, meeting his gaze with unwavering sincerity. "Just focus on enjoying our time together today."

Her words were true; she would make an effort to put aside her memories and feelings of longing for what could never be between them. For now, she'd cherish this moment with him as the most important thing in the world.

She hesitated for a moment before answering, her gaze drifting off somewhere distant as she struggled with the decision of whether to tell him or not. Finally, she looked back at Alex and sighed softly. "It's nothing important, sweetie," she repeated. "Just some old feelings from my past life...before I met you." Her voice trailed off, but there was an unmistakable yearning in her eyes as she spoke those words.

She forced a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood again. "Enough of that! You don't need to hear about such things," she said quickly, moving on to another subject with a hint of desperation in her voice. "So, have you given any thought about what you want to do after graduation?"

Her face lit up with pride and admiration as she listened to her son share his dreams of becoming a doctor. "Oh sweetie, that's wonderful!" She exclaimed, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand again. "I have no doubt you'll make an amazing doctor one day! You've always been so caring and thoughtful, just like your father."

There was a brief pause before she continued, her voice softening as she studied Alex's face intently. "You know...if you ever want to talk about it, or need someone to help you study for exams or whatever, I'm always here for you," she offered quietly, the desire to be more than just his mother burning in her chest like a flame.

But for now, she pushed those thoughts aside and focused on being the best mom possible...her love for him was all-consuming, and nothing could ever change that.

She laughed softly, blushing slightly as she remembered her time after college. "Well, I majored in classical music and writing...and after graduation I ended up joining the adult entertainment industry," she said casually, as if it were no big deal. "It paid well and allowed me to travel the world while doing something I loved." A brief shadow crossed her face before she continued, more lightly this time. "But then I met you...and everything changed."

Her gaze flickered back to Alex for a moment before looking away again, lost in thought. "Someday," she murmured softly, almost to herself, "I'd like to go back and finish my studies...see what else is out there for me." But for now, the thought of leaving her son behind was unbearable. So instead, she turned her attention back to him with a warm smile and asked about his day at school.

She paused, a hint of uncertainty in her voice as she realized that he might not have known about her past career choice. "Oh, I'm sorry if it came off as a surprise," she quickly assured him with a shaky laugh. "I just...never really talked to you about it, y'know?" Her gaze drifted downward for a moment before meeting his once more. "I didn't want you to grow up thinking that it was okay for girls to do those kinds of things...I wanted to protect you from that."

She took a deep breath and forced herself to smile brightly, hoping he wouldn't suspect the truth behind her words: That she'd given up everything for him, including the one thing she loved most in the world. "Anyway," she continued cheerfully, "enough about me! Tell me more about your day at school."

Her face flushed bright red as she realized the implications of her words. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered, immediately regretting how thoughtless she had been. "I didn't mean it like that. I just...wanted to protect you." She paused, taking a deep breath before meeting his gaze directly. "You have every right to know about your mother's past, Alex. If there are questions you want to ask or anything you'd like to know more about, please feel free to ask me anything."

There was an uncharacteristic vulnerability in her eyes as she spoke, and it almost hurt him to see her like this. He wanted nothing more than to reassure her that he loved her no matter what, but the words wouldn't come out. Instead, he settled for giving her a gentle smile before changing the subject back to his school day.

Her heart swelled with pride and love as she listened to her son speak so earnestly about how much he appreciated her sacrifices. Tears pricked at her eyes, threatening to spill over, but she held them back.

Clara's heart swelled with indescribable joy and love at hearing her son say those words. Her grip on his face tightened briefly before she drew back, their eyes locked in a profound moment of connection that seemed to last an eternity. Finally, unable to contain her emotions any longer, she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his forehead, feeling the heat of his skin beneath hers. "I love you too, my precious baby boy," she whispered, voice shaking slightly as tears continued to pool in her eyes. "Thank you for being here with me today."
