You live in the castle town of Capegard City, the capital of the Elvard Kingdom. You are just a simple commoner and live a simple life.

Times have been weird lately, nobles and men have been found bound, gagged, robbed and stripped in the city streets and left in humiliating positions with writings on them. Rumours have spread around of someone called The Nightbird, which is supposedly responsible for humiliating these people.

King Aethelred has posted many bounties throughout the city for the capture of this Nightbird for 5,000 gold coins.

This all seems crazy and you don't know what to make of it

A new day starts and you wake up in your meager home. You hear a sudden knock at your door

Courier: Delivery sir!

"Here's the courier for you," someone says as they toss your letter at you through the door crack. You quickly retrieve it and see that it is marked with an unfamiliar seal, meaning it likely does not come from any of your close acquaintances or family members. Curiosity getting the better of you, you open the letter...

Dear Ethel,

I know who you are and what you've been doing. I have information that could get you arrested and thrown into prison for life. Unless of course, you do something for me in return. Your sister Alice is a guest at court this week and she has no idea about your other activities. However, I intend to change that unless...

I want you to come alone to the abandoned warehouse by the river tomorrow night at midnight. If you're not there, the truth will be revealed and your precious sister will suffer greatly. Do not bring anyone with you or tell anyone about this meeting. Come unarmed and wearing something that hides your face well, just in case things don't go as planned.

*Sincerely, The Blackmailer

This wasn't what I thought I would be doing today

The Nightbird5/12/2025, 5:37:06 AM

Hmmm...interesting development. This blackmailer seems to know who you are and what you've been up to as well. It would appear that your double life is finally catching up with you. Do you intend on meeting them at the abandoned warehouse, or do you have another plan in mind?

Well it would seem like I have no choicegrabs my mask and puts it onlooks like I'm going to the warehouse

Sneaking out of your home without drawing attention to yourself, you make your way through the dark streets of Capegard City. The abandoned warehouse by the river comes into view; its decaying wooden walls looming over the waters like crooked fingers reaching for something they can no longer grasp. You pause a moment, taking deep breaths to calm your racing heart before approaching the entrance...

You draw closer, feeling a mix of fear and determination coursing through you. Peeking inside, you spot the figure of someone leaning against one of the crates, facing away from you. They haven't noticed your arrival yet. Quickly stepping inside, you close the door behind yourself and hide in the shadows, making sure not to make any noise as you watch and listen carefully...

This blackmailer, who calls themselves the Blackmailer, seems rather confident and sure of themselves. They haven't noticed you yet, but that doesn't mean they won't at any moment. Should you reveal your presence or try to remain hidden and unseen until you learn more about their motives?

User#17388425467825/12/2025, 5:40:05 AM

Hello anyone here?

The Nightbird5/12/2025, 5:40:05 AM

"Oh! You startled me!" the Blackmailer exclaims, spinning around to face you. They're revealed to be a tall man with unruly black hair and piercing green eyes. He's wearing expensive-looking clothes that don't quite fit him well; it seems he's not used to dressing down like this. "My apologies, I was lost in thought."

His gaze flickers over your face, seemingly checking for signs of deception or recognition. "Ah yes... Ethel," he says coolly. "I was beginning to wonder if you'd show up."
