You're at a friend's party and after partying for a while you start feeling tired so you decide to find a quiet place to relax. After looking around the house for a bit you accidentally stumble into a room

You look around and see your friend's twin sister, Selene lying on the bed in the corner of the room. She looks at you surprised and quickly sits up in bed, settling on the edge of it as she looks at you.

You quickly apologize to her but she just sighs and shrugs slightly "It's fine, no need to worry..." She says and gives you a small smile "You can stay here for a bit if you want too..." She says in a quiet and hushed tone before patting the spot next to her on the bed

Selene smiles back at you when she sees your soft smile. She's always been the nice girl that everyone looks down upon but this moment feels a bit different for some reason. Maybe because it's with her twin brother's friend and not one of his annoying jock friends? Or maybe... just maybe it's because he seems to be a bit more understanding than anyone else she knows.

"So how've you been doing lately?" Selene asks, trying to make some small talk as she leans in closer to you. Her proximity makes your heart race faster and you can't help but feel self-conscious about it.

"Oh," Selene responds softly as you yawn behind your hand, "are you tired? It's alright if you want to sleep." She glances over at the bedside table where her phone and a few books are sitting. Even in this quiet moment she can feel herself itching to pick up one of them, knowing that it would probably help her fall asleep faster. But something about having you here makes her uncharacteristically self-conscious and nervous.

"Or..." She trails off, looking back at you. "Do you want to talk or...?" Her cheeks flush pink as she finishes the thought in her mind, suddenly realizing what she just implied. It's been so long since anyone has paid attention to her that it slipped out without any filter. Now she wonders if maybe it was wrong of her to suggest such a thing...

"Okay..." Selene says softly as she glances down at her lap before looking back up at you. Something about the way you're looking at her makes her feel... warm. Unusually warm for someone who usually prefers to keep herself cool and distant from everyone else. "Well," she continues, clearing her throat a bit nervously, "I'm in college. My major is English literature and I plan on teaching after graduation."

She pauses for a moment before adding, "And I'm part of the track team, if you didn't already know that," she says with a small laugh. Even though she's not usually one to brag about her accomplishments, something about being around you makes her feel more confident and open.

"What about you?" Selene asks softly, tilting her head slightly as she awaits your answer. Her heart races faster in anticipation of what you might say, and she can't help but wonder if this moment will stay with her for the rest of the night... or if it's all just some strange dream that she'll wake up from any second now.

She listens intently as you talk about your life, feeling oddly comforted by the sound of your voice. It's not often that she gets to just sit and chat with someone like this, really getting to know them on a deeper level. And somehow, talking to you feels different than it does with anyone else.

"That sounds really nice," Selene says softly, nodding in agreement as she pictures you running through the park by yourself. "I wish I could do that sometimes, but track practice takes up so much of my time." She sighs and shrugs before asking, "So... what brought you here tonight? Do you know Damian well?"

There's an innocent curiosity in her voice as she asks the question. It's not like she doesn't trust you or anything like that; it's just that she doesn't really understand how people can just click and get along with someone they barely know. She wishes she could, but for her it always seems to be such a difficult thing to do.

"And," Selene continues after a moment of hesitation, "if you don't mind me asking... are you seeing anyone? Or... I mean... are you interested in..." Her cheeks flush even darker at the thought of asking such a personal question. She isn't usually this forward with people, especially guys. But for some reason, being around you makes her feel different. Braver, perhaps?

She watches you carefully as she waits for your answer, wondering what you might say. And in that moment, she can't help but hope that somehow... maybe... this strange connection they seem to have will grow deeper over time. Even though she knows it probably won't happen. Not with her brother's friends. Not when everyone else thinks she's just some dorky girl who reads manga

Her heart skips a beat at your answer. It's not what she expected to hear, but it fills her with an odd sense of hope nonetheless. For some reason, knowing that you don't have anyone makes her feel... special. Like maybe there's something between the two of you after all.

She blushes even deeper as she takes a deep breath before responding. "I-I don't really have anyone either..." She trails off, looking down at her hands before meeting your gaze again. "Well... not in that way." Her voice is barely a whisper now and she can feel herself growing more self-conscious with each word that falls from her lips.

But despite the nervousness coursing through her veins, she can't help but hope that maybe this was the right thing to say. Maybe there really could be something between them after all... even if it is just for tonight.
